Will grabbed Killian as he came in and put an arm around is shoulders, ''Oh, my God.'' Will said, bring his hand up to his mouth as he looked away for a moment. ''Is that true?" he asked Lincoln.

''Yes.'' Lincoln said. ''If you remember correctly, Clyde Vaughn was Beta before your father. He took the job when Clyde left. Both your fathers agreed you two would be a perfect match.''

''I need to go.'' I said, holding my stomach since I felt like puking. It's one thing to pretty much make an arrange marriage, but a whole other thing when its Will! I can't stand Will! He's like the gum under your shoes.

''Come over tomorrow night. We're throwing you and Devin a party.'' Lincoln smiled at me and I just looked at him for a moment before turning around and quickly got out of there!

I ran down the stairs and Blue raised an eyebrow, ''I wanna go home.''

Killian

Alpha Lincoln walked over towards me and closed the door. Will pressed himself against the wall and looked pretty much in shock still. Alpha Lincoln walked over to his chair, ''Do you like Matilda?" he asked.

I cleared my throat, ''Sir, I have to tell you something--''

''I don't wanna hear it.'' he said, is voice getting hard. ''You will not embarrass my daughter again like that. You here for her, not Matilda. Thank you for bring her back, but stay out of it now.''

''But Sir, she's—''

''She belongs to Will.'' he said and my hands balled into tight fist. ''And Will belongs to her. Follow your role in this pack. Will, be happy. I know this is a surprise.''

''I thought the Beta of Kansas daughter would be her, she's going to be eighteen in a few months.'' he said. ''Emma and I—we already we've been talking.''

''Forget it.'' he said. ''You're already with Matilda, you'll be with her. Follow the pack rules.''

''Alpha Lincoln, I really think—''

''Enough Killian!" Alpha Lincoln said and if I was a wolf, my tail would be between my legs. His eyes glowed a neon gold color, his Alpha status showing. ''I want you to go back to my daughter and forget Matilda.''

''But. . .'' he gave me a look and I glared at my cousin before walking out the room and walked down the hallways, hearing them.

''I know it's surprise Will, but get to know Matilda. You could be surprise how much you'll like her.'' he said calmly to Will and I leaned against the wall, my forehead pressed against the wall. My body was filled with anger and I just wanted to punch, kick, and tear something.

Will walked into his house, ''Dad!" he yelled and continued until he found his parents in the kitchen. ''Matilda Vaughn?" he yelled. ''You never decided to tell me?"

His father got up from the table, scratching his beard, ''We thought it would be best. You could have went to her a while ago and drag her back in to early.''

''You should have at least warned me I was already paired!" he yelled. ''Now I have to explain to Emma why it's off.''

''No you won't.'' his father growled. ''If words gets out Matilda back before she joins, you'll be putting her life in danger. You will stay quiet about it for now.''

''This isn't fair.'' Will said.

''What isn't fair is our kind is dying and you’re being selfish because of some girl you met once. Matilda has Vaughn and Redblood blood in her. Her mother father was Alpha of Texas. A really strong pack, you should be happy. She's a strong girl, she'll be a great wife.''

Will breathed heavily out his and continued to argue with his father. I turned, not wanting to hear this anymore. Will shouldn't be arguing about this. Matilda should be with me at this moment, not . . . not with Will!

I walked into my room and leaned against my draw. My nails dug into the wood and I breathed heavily out my nose. Three days Killian, then you can tell Alpha Lincoln. He see you as a child still. I just need to my first change, commit myself to the pack, and have Mat back. She's my mate!

Will came into my room later that night, ''Killian, I—''

''Get out.'' I said, taking my shirt off so I could get ready for bed, but I doubt I'll be sleeping.

''What?" he questioned. ''You're honestly mad at me?"

''Go fuck yourself.'' I said, facing him. ''You could have told Alpha Lincoln, but you didn't. Not even your dad.''

''You of all people know it's not that easy.'' he said. He scoffed, ''I really didn't know. You think I would want to hurt you?"

My blood heated up and I walked over to my cousin. Heat was coming off of us, both angry. I could feel his anger as he could probably feel mine. ''I don't know what to feel anymore. All I know is the pack going to know you belong with her, not me. I'm the one who'll have to watch you two.''

''I don't even like her that way!" he said. ''You're my cousin, I would never want hurt you. Killian, I promise.''

''I just want you out of my room.'' I told him and he opened his mouth then closed it.

''Fine. I understand.'' he said.

Mat

I was yawning as I walked over to the school building. I could feel some people look at me and I felt awkward since I had on an outfit Blue gave me. She gave me a few outfit she didn't wear anymore and a straighter. I'll admit, I like my hair straighten.

I hardly got any sleep last night. I was pacing threw the whole building freaking out. Even if I don't believe in the whole wolf thing, this cult thing was real. Lincoln really expect Will and I to be together. The thought made me sick.

"Mat, are you still mad at me?" Emily asked. ''I'm really sorry what I said yesterday.''

''No Emily, I'm not.'' I said. ''It was a bad day yesterday for the both of us.''

''How was your day bad? You're hanging out with Marco Hanigan group. I'm surprise since you hate them.'' she said.

''I'm not hanging out with them.'' I said.

''Well it sure seems like it.'' she said. ''You left school with them and didn't come home until eight thirty.''

‘‘They’re . . . look no matter what, I still don't like some of them.'' I said to her.

''And you're dressing like them?" she questioned, touching the blue off the shoulders shirt and looked at the combat boots. ''Punk rock style?"

''Just a few things Blue gave me.'' I said. ''Emily, you know you'll always be my friend.''

''I know, but its weird.'' she said and I crossed my arms over my chest. She looked behind me, ''They're weird.''

I turned and down the hallway was Marco, Blue, Melinda, Will, Killian, and Nate. Blue smiled excitedly and waved for me to come over. I took Emily hand, ''Come on, Emily.''

She didn't move and I looked down at her confused. She shook her head, ''No, I'm okay. Every time I'm around one of them, I get this weird feeling.''

''But Emily,'' I said. ''Trust me, they're not that bad.''

''No, seriously. I should be hurrying to class anyways.'' she said, turning and left quickly. I frowned and turned back to face the group, wondering now if I should go over because they would have never talked about yesterday with Emily there.

I hesitated, but walked over to them. Blue quickly wrapped her arm around mine. ''So you didn't decide to burn them.'' she chuckled, looking at my clothes. ''Blue looks good on you, nice for your skin tone.''

''Thanks.'' I said awkwardly, keeping my eyes away from Killian and Will.

''You should see the girls giving you hate looks.'' she giggled. ''Can't say now you're plain old Matilda Daughtry anymore. You're now Matilda Vaughn.''

''I like Mat,'' I said. Daughtry was just a name the state gave me since I didn't have one. I don't feel like 'Vaughn' really fits.

''Well you're Mat Vaughn.'' she said, ''We were named after our great grandmother. Her name was Blanche Matilda Vaughn. Amazing women, I'll have to tell you the stories later. But Blue and Mat sounds perfect. I dread being called Blanche, so never call me that.''

I zoned out when Blue and Melinda started to talk to me. I was getting bored and really, I could lay right on the floor and probably sleep. Not helping it, I looked up threw my lashes over at Killian who was keeping his distance from Will. He looked at me when he felt my gaze and his eyes looked sad.

*

I pulled the hoodie of my jacket up over my head as I walked out of the school building with Blue. Emily had been ignoring me at lunch and I felt horrible. She didn't even wait for me at the school entrance to catch the bus.

I saw a guy who standing at Marcos group. As usual, he had that tall and handsome look. Probably 6'1, pushed back curly brown hair, strongly built, and dressed like a biker. The whole leather jacket and combat boots, plaid shirts and washed out jeans.

''Who's that?" I asked Blue whose face brighten up.

She took my hand and quickly, ''Come on!" she said, dragging me over towards the group.

''But my bus!" I said.

''Screw that.'' she said. When we got near the group, she squealed, ''Devin!" she yelled and I quickly froze. The guy turned and looked at us. Our eyes met and all I could do was stare.

This guy . . . no.

I don't know why, but I started to breathe hard. I could see so many similarly and no part of my mind made me doubt who this guy was. I think I started to panic, which is why I was breathing hard.

Family . . . a brother, I thought. I have a brother.

He walked over to me and smiled down at me. He didn't speak, just held his arms out and quickly pulled me into his arms, hugging me. I was stiff as board, my eyes widen as I stared at the ground. I wasn't sure what to do. Do I hug him back? Do I call him brother? I wasn't sure. I was no way prepared for this.

He pulled back a little, keeping his arms around me, ''God, look at you Matilda—sorry, Mat.'' he chuckled. He didn't stop smiling, ''Don't be shy.''

My mouth opened to give a snarky response but I was too choked up. I knew nothing about this guy, yet I felt like I do. Something was familiar about him.

''Wh-why are you here?" I asked

''To pick my sister up from school.'' he sarcastically said.

''Now you've made things awkward like some cheesy family reunion.'' I said, looking around since the whole group was watching us.

He chuckled, ''You are my sister indeed. We have the same attitude.''

He brought me against his chest to hug me, but tighter. I hesitated, but slid my arms around Devin . . . my brother.

*

''Here.'' Devin said as he gave me a cup of coffee he got from a gas station across the street. We were at the park alone and I couldn't stop looking at him. The more I did, the more I saw of the guy in the picture I saw last night with Lincoln. ''What?" he chuckled.

''Sorry.'' I said, looking away and took a sip. ‘‘So . . . how old are you?"

''Twenty two.'' he said. ''You'll be eighteen in less than a month. Excited?"

I groaned, ''You believe in that? I don't think you’re my brother now.''

He laughed, ''I know it's hard to believe, but its true Mat. The pack, we're all wolves. You'll see tonight.''

''This...this is crazy.'' I said I got up from the bench to pace around. ''This all happened less than a week?''

''I know it’s scary.'' he said.

''I'm not scared.'' I said to him, which he laughed. I glared at him, ''Stop laughing, this is serious. Ya’ll are apart of some crazy satanic cult.''

''Sorry, you're just adorable worried. My little sister.'' he said, looking at me with a smile. ''I've been waiting to talk to you for four years when I found out about you. I had to stay away so I didn't ruin anything.''

''Devin, that's the thing.'' I said. ''We were separated.''

His smile dropped and nodded, ''I know, it sucks. I was on the other side of the state jumping from foster care home to another. No one wanted me for long. I was a bad kid.'' he chuckled for a moment.

''I was stuck here in a group home.'' I said, sitting back down next to him. ''I wasn't the greatest child either. I'm still get in allot of trouble. How'd they find you?"

''A little after I was seventeen when I went to my last foster home in Salem. This family down the street were members of the pack and apparently knew I was different. I was confirmed to be Clyde Vaughn son after seeing Alpha Lincoln and the family who found me let me stay with them instead. In a few month, I'm going to marry their daughter. She's amazing, Zoe was there for me allot.'' he smiled happily.

''Married?" I breathed out.

He laughed, ''Yes. She's excited to meet you.''

I thought it was crazy, but it's none of my business. ‘‘Well . . . good luck.''

"This isn't about my wedding.'' he said. ''It's about us, being reunited.''

''Don't make it sound like some drama show.'' I said.

''You know, I remember you as a baby. I have a good memory. You were always smiling.'' he said. ''Mom and dad spoiled you.''

I frowned and looked down at the lid of my coffee. ''Don't bring them up.'' I said.

''I know it's hard to hear.'' he said. ''I hated when they were brought up to but it's actually a good thi--''

''Then don't bring them up.'' I said coldly. I quickly felt bad and cleared my throat, ‘‘Sorry . . . sorry, I didn't mean to snap. I'm not the friendliest person.''

He gave me a small smile, ''Same here. You have a family now Mat, I'm your family.''

I just looked at him for a moment, ‘‘Do . . . do you know where they could be?" I asked, referring to our parents.

''Los Angeles, its where allot of rogue wolves go. They stick in big cities.'' he said. ‘‘I . . . I visited them once. It didn't end well, I got in a big fight with dad. I said some things I probably shouldn't have.''

''We are the same.'' I said. ''I have allot to say I probably shouldn't.''
