Killian
"What is wrong with you, Killian?" Will asked, his hands pressed against my shoulders tightly to make me walk and not turn around to run back to that girl. I could like a pup follow her around all day.
"I-I don't know." I said, shrugging. "She-I don't know."
He hit my behind my head and I almost punched him for doing that, "Snap out it then. No girlfriends, you're first transformation is this Friday. You'll be with Melinda. You can't mess this up, cousin. Don't do anything to mess up becoming the Alphas son-in-law."
"I know, I know. Stop treating me like a child." I said. "Who is she though?"
"I don't know, some chick." he said. "And with the two second conversation I had with her, she seems really annoying and has a mouth."
"Who has a mouth?" Marco asked when we joined the others who were hanging around the Senior hallway and he got up from the window he was leaning on.
"That chick Mat Daughtry.", Will said and I turned to him confused.
"Mat?" I questioned.
"Her real name is Matilda, but she likes to be called Mat.", Blue said as she got up from the window to. She shrugged as we all looked at confused because she knows that, "You wolves don't really pay attention? She's been going to school with us since kindergarten."
"We don't care if they aren't one of us." Will said. "And what's up with her?"
"She lives in a group home-aka an orphanage in town called Wings Hope. She does have a feisty temper." she chuckled a little. "If I would have thought, she was one of us."
"Don't be an idiot, Blanche." Marco said and she narrowed her eyes on him to glare. I had only met her over the weekend, but she preferred being called Blue. "Why the sudden interest in that chick?"
"I-", I began but Will cut me off.
"She tried sassing me, nothing important." Will said, chuckling. "I bumped into her because I didn't see her and she got a little attitude."
"Doesn't catch my attention enough." Marco said in boredom. "Where the hell is my sister? Melinda been in the bathroom for over ten minutes now. Blue, go make sure she isn't sticking her head in the toilet again."
Blue looked annoyed but did what he said.
"Sorry you have to hear that, Killian." Marco said to be. "Sister is a real mess. I love her, but-"
"No need to explain." I said to him and he nodded. "I thought I could take her to Giovanni's pizza tonight-of course if that okay with you." I said, being all respectful to my future Alpha. If I'm supposed to live in this town the rest of my life, I at least should get somewhere in life. Will's dad may be the Beta but I can become the Alpha son-in-law and when he passes, the brother-in-law. I can go many places with that.
He smiled and put his hand on my right shoulder, "Dude, I have no problem. I would love you if you got her to eat a whole pizza to."
"I bet a can." I said confidently as I grinned with him. "I'll make her strong again."
We hugged each other as if we were brothers already, but I couldn't help but smell the scent of vanilla and hint of strawberries again. I turned my head to the right when they felt like they were slowing down again and I saw her again walking down the hallway.
She looked up when she was coming near to pass up and we made eye contact for a moment. Her big doe eyes widen for a moment before she shyly looked away, brushing her long brown hair behind her right ear, passing us.
I tried not to follow her with my eyes as I pulled away but I couldn't help it.
"Wait, that's the chick." Marco said. "She's always sitting in the back of the class and hell, she does have a temper. She punch pretty boy Gavin Bennett in the 10th grade for messing with her. Looked pretty damn hard, the only time I was impressed by a human. Made his nose bleed and cut his lip deeply."
"So short and fragile looking though." Nate said. I almost forgot he was here, but he was always quiet and hid behind Marco like a shadow, but that was his personality. Where wolves were usually loud and outgoing, he was quiet and mysterious. "A little girl like herself did that?"
"Must learn how to fight if you're an orphan I guess." Marco said.
"Let go of me!" I heard Melinda voice angrily and Marco pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing heavily. "Blue, I said I'm fine! I ate breakfast and kept it in!" she said when she appeared with us.
Melinda was beautiful, but she looked sick as she was. She-wolves never have a problem with their bodies, they were always confident and proud of it. Melinda was different-her father had warned me that she had a little trouble with her appearance. Her skin was pasty pale, her dark long hair was pulled back in a ponytail and looked dull, and she had dark circles under her eyes like she hadn't been sleeping.
I think I've been crazy enough to act as if I liked her. If one day-hopefully a long time away-we'll get married. But even she scares me. Not in a horror way, but like if I hold her, I could crush her bones from the lack of strength she has. She was fragile and sick.
"I don't need a babysitter, Marco." she hissed at her twin brother. "I was playing a game of my phone, stop being over protective. I wanted to get away so I hid in the bathroom, alright? I need room to breathe but can't with you or someone always there."
"Melinda, stop it.", Marco said, his voice cold and hard. "I told dad I would watch you at school and that's what I'm doing. Not shut up, you're making yourself look like an idiot."
Her nose scrunched up, but she did as her brother said. She turned to me and narrowed her eyes on me, "Ugh, you're actually here." she groaned.
"Be nice." Marco said, lightly pushing his sister towards me.
"Nice?" she asked, turning her head around to look at him for a second. "Okay.", she said then looked at me. She put her hands around my neck and before I could stop her, she slammed her lips right against mine.
My eyes widen for a second and I was starting to believe everyone when they said she was crazy. I put my hands on her waist to pull her away, but I winced when she dug her sharp nails into my skin. Her breath smelled to like she hadn't brushed them and it made me want to puke. How can she let herself go? She finally pulled away and chuckled, "Happy Marco?"
Marco groaned, "Just get to class."
Mat
"Matilda, stay for a moment." Mr. Oliver said when class ended and I was heading towards the door.
My head flew backwards and I almost cursed, but I put a smile on my face as I turned and walked over to his table. He picked up a piece of paper and I saw the big D at the top, "You need to get your grade up, Matilda. If you want to pass you should consider studying more."
"I do study though." I said, taking it. Okay, so maybe that was a lie. I try studying, but The Walking Dead always get me distracted. Blame TV, not me.
"I suggest finding someone to study with then." he said. "You're failing and if you fail this quarter again, it's going to be hard for you to pass."
"I can't fail, Mr. Oliver.", I said, groaning.
"Then study, I'll let you re-take the test tomorrow at lunch." he said and looked at me serious. "You want to get out of here, right?"
"Maybe I'm just more stupid then I thought." I said and before he can open his mouth, I turned. "See you tomorrow in class."
I left Chemistry, looking at his x's over my wrong answers and groaned. I turned the paper to the side and started ripping it up into little pieces. I closed my eyes and held back the tears. Why am I even trying? Why don't I just quit school because I'm barley passing me classes. I'm too stupid for all this-
I was even more stupid for walking with my eyes close, thinking everyone would go pass the weird chick but I was wrong apparently because I bumped into someone-at least I think it was a person. What I felt was a strong wall.
I opened my eyes and my face burned bright red when I realized it was a blue t-shirt I was staring at. I could smell Old Spice again and I got these nervous feelings again. My eyes widen and the pieces of paper almost fell out of my hands. I wanted to die in embarrassment.
"Hi." said Killian and I forced my head up to look at him. I quickly met those baby blue eyes with a hint of gold with a dark outline.
So handsome, my mind said and I almost slapped myself.
He raised an eyebrow, but looked amused, "You do speak, right?" he chuckled and before I could hold back my tongue, I said.
"Well of course I speak, do I look deaf to you?" I asked coldly and he seemed taken back, but continued to look amused.
"Why were you walking with your eyes closed?" he asked and I looked around to see if anyone was watching. Indeed some people were once again sticking their noses where it shouldn't be.
"None of your damn business." I said, walking around him before I was tempted to kiss him. He apparently was already friends with Marco little trouble group and dating Melinda. I saw them kiss this morning so I don't see why he would be talking to loner me. Where are all his friend and cousin?
When I thought he would leave me alone, I was wrong because he appeared next to me, holding his hand out, "Killian Arkwright."
"I'm Leave Me Alone I've Been Told I Got A Good Right Hook.", I said, hoping that would annoy him off since I was being sarcastic and rude to the new boy.
But he just laughed, "Seems long.", he said. "It's Matilda Daughtry, you can surprisingly learn anything quickly here in Marchand. Like how I also know you like to be called Mat."
I came up to my next class and finally turned to him, "You're a pest like your cousin and the rest of your friends." I said and his eyes widen. "Do me a favor and still the hell away from me.", I said before going into class, leaving him there shocked.
