Thorn was back quite quickly with the alpha's. The alpha male Lightning looked at the dead wolf with grief. While the alpha female, Maple was trying not to look as she was crying. Lightning entire over to comfort her mate.

After a long silence, Lightning raised the question "Who has done this?" he asks in a moderate tone.

Dusk replies "Were not sure. Luna just came to us saying their was a dead wolf from our pack near by and well we followed and found....her,".

"We should probably bring her body back. the pack would want to grieve for her," Maple responds " Thorn would you mind?" She says nodding her head to the carcass.

"Not at all alpha," he replies. Then thorn walked over and grabbed the wolves neck with his mouth and he carefully walked back to the dens.

"We should get going back." Lone says "So the pack doesn't think we have gone missing or anything,".

A small smile appears on Mira's face but quickly vanishes when she remembers of what has happened.

"Let's get going," Lone whispers to Luna with a quick nudge of Lone's head.

Then just as quickly as they came, everyone started to depart. Lone leading and everyone trailing slowly behind, it took a while before they had returned to the dens. Lone saw the entrance and was just glad to be home. She could scent all of her pack mates were inside, except there were a few missing that had probably left for a patrol. Lone had a really good sense of smell, better than the average wolf and she knew it. Lone checked for a second to make sure everyone was still following and then she burst into a run into the entrance. She was so excited to be home and finally be able to talk with the rest of her pack mates to see how there day went. To share stories with one another and lone could tell everyone how Fang got stuck in a rabbit burrow.

Though her speed had slow down to just a fast walk as she saw everyone gathering around the body, giving there respects. The mothers were herding there pups inside the cave, The elder wolves slowly walking out of the cave as well to see what was going on. One elder stood in horror, Lone knew that elder and suddenly remembered that was the mother. Her name was Bronze, for her bronze colored pelt of course. The beta of the pack was also breaking down in tears.

Lone also remembered that the wolf that had died, was the Beta's sister.

"Rock!" Mira had shouted as she dashed over to her mate. She quickly started to lick his ear and their tails had crossed over each other as Mira had laid down with her mate leaning against each other. Thorn had looked depressed as he stared at Mira comforting Rock. Thorn had been trying to ask Mira if they could be mates. It was the same answer every time.

She had always told him that he already had a mate and that his was out there somewhere. He never really seemed convinced, but there was nothing he could do. There was nothing that was going to separate Rock and Mira from each other.

Lone's thoughts were interrupted when she heard a voice from beside her.

"I better go check on the pups and explain to them what happened".

"I'll go too!", The other voice said.

It was Dusk and Fang. Together they quickly trotted to the cave to were there pups were,or at least we're they should be. All the wolves slept in the cave. Except for the healers but they slept in a cave as well on the other side of the clearing. They only stayed there so other wolves don't get sick when there treating their patients.

A scream all of a sudden filled the air. Dusk came rushing out.

"Dusk, what's wrong?" Lightning demanded.

She screamed back "One of my pups is gone!".
