Boss Battle

"What has Anti done?" Jack whispered, feeling his heart break as he took in all of the people homeless laying in the cracked streets, their bodies thin and skin almost translucent.

Everyone looked miserable.

"C'mon, we have to move fast." The Engineer returned Jack's focus to the task at hand as he strode ahead towards the palace, avoiding looking at anyone.

The palace was made of black obsidian, any traces of the old palace Jack remembered from his childhood gone.

"What are you waiting for?" The Engineer paused as well, watching Jack with a tinge of concern in his voice.

"This is my fight. All of you need to stay out here." Jack instructed.

"But-"

"Please." Jack cut off Robin before he could protest.

There was a moment of silence before the group reluctantly nodded in agreement.

"You got this." Signe squeezed his hand reassuringly as the group watched Jack take a deep breath before marching inside with his head held high in confidence and cape billowing out behind him.

Guards were instantly alerted of their arrival. They ran out in dark green uniforms trimmed with black to stop them, but froze when they saw Jack.

"Jack?" One of them whispered in disbelief.

"Where's Anti?" Jack ignored the guard, feeling tense at the lack of security. Usually septic spies lurked around the palace, but none were to be seen.

"I-in the throne room." Another guard stuttered, bewildered at Jack's sudden arrival.

Jack nodded in appreciation at the group before running off to the throne room and bursting through the black polished doors.

Anti was there sitting on what used to be his father's throne counting out money, piles of it lying around him.

"Hey assbutt!" Jack yelled to get his attention.

Probably could've said something cooler, Jack thought as he stood there, waiting for some kind of response.

Anti calmly glanced up at Jack, smirking at him as if he was a small child.

"Hey Jackaboy." Anti sneered, unmoving from his casual position on the throne.

"Get off of the throne." Jack demanded in a dangerously calm tone.

"Or what?" Anti taunted in amusement.

"This world is mine, these people are mine. I've already won." Anti gestured around him triumphantly.

Without warning, Jack charged towards him even though he was unarmed, his vision tinged with red.

Anti laughed as he easily kicked Jack away, sending him skidding down the polished floor a few feet away.

"You're weak. Pathetic." Anti shook his head as he stood up from the throne, circling around Jack like a lion stalking its prey.

Anti abruptly grabbed a sword from the scabbard at his side, the black blade glistening in the light shining through night the windows and swung at Jack.

He had to quickly step to the side to avoid getting sliced through the chest, however the blade nicked his arm.

"You're not even gonna make this a fair fight? What, are you scared?" Jack taunted, doing his best to pretend the pain in his arm didn't exist.

"A better question would be are you?" Anti countered.

Jack gave no reply.

"Fine." Anti finally gave up, tossing Jack another sword that he kept by the throne.

Jack instantly recognized it as his old sword he used during the first battle against the Billycons, the septic eye on the hilt that looked like Sam covered in dust, but otherwise intact.

"You still wear that old rag you call a cape?" Anti snorted in amusement.

"I do, it's good for things like this." Jack swished his cape in front of Anti, catching him off guard and giving Jack enough time to back up so he had the to plan his next move.

Anti retaliated by lunging with his sword at Jack.

"You can't win, you're just a human." Anti sneered as he clashed swords with Jack, forcing Jack's sword dangerously close to his face.

"I'm Jack Septiceye McBoss, heir to the throne of Bossatronia, and I'm YouTuber gamer Jacksepticeye. So many people believe in me, and I won't fail them." Jack spoke through gritted teeth as his arms strained to keep Anti's sword at bay.

"Why did Billy make you in charge of Bossatronia instead of himself?" Jack demanded out of curiosity. He managed to knock Anti's sword aside, but not out of his grip.

"Billy technically does rule. To him, I'm merely a puppet and he's the puppeteer. If I disobey him, he'll kill me." Anti admitted, not letting his guard down as he eyed Jack warily. Jack held his sword in a defensive position as he considered Anti's words, wondering if he was telling the truth.

"I know what people have been calling me behind my back. I deserved to be loved! I didn't choose this, and even if I was actually the ruler, I wouldn't allow this to happen." Anti gestured around him with his sword.

"Together we can take out Billy, we can make things right." Jack lowered his sword to his side and held out his other hand out to Anti as a sign of peace.

"I...you're right. Let's do this." Anti shook Jack's hand, his eyes betraying his reluctance and hesitation at siding with Jack.

"Follow me." Anti instructed as he strode out of the throne room.

"I need to get my friends." Jack interjected as he started walking towards the entrance to go outside.

"Too late."

Billy blocked Jack's path with his own short black hilted dagger before stepping in front of him.

"Anti, kill him!" Billy commanded.

Anti stood frozen behind Jack, his grip tightening on his sword as his knuckles grew white.

"Traitor!" Billy yelled in fury, glaring at Jack.

"This is YOUR fault!" Billy pointed the tip of his dagger at Jack's heart.

"It was my own choice. I can't watch these people suffer." Anti stepped forward so he was standing beside Jack.

"You really are Jack's clone." Billy chuckled coldly.

"You'll both die the same!" Billy twirled his dagger in his hand as he stepped closer to the two.

Anti and Jack both raised their swords in response, ready in a defensive position.

Billy swung for their heads, but missed since the ducked just in time. Anti swung at Billy's torso in response while Jack sidestepped until he was standing behind Billy so he couldn't escape in case he chose to do so.

Billy blocked the attack before fending off Anti's counterattack. Jack managed to nick Billy's arm before he whirled back around and kicked Jack in the stomach, causing him to double over in pain and the wind in his lungs to whoosh out.

"Dark!" Billy snapped, wiping away some of the blood on his arm that was trickling down, smearing it on his hand.

A man dressed in a black suit stepped out of one of the nearby rooms. He looked exactly like the Engineer except his eyes were cold and looked almost black, his skin pale.

"He's a timelord who's not afraid to fight, unlike your little friend waiting outside." Billy smirked smugly as Dark held up a large laser gun.

"You have any cool weapons up your sleeve?" Anti whispered to Jack.

"Change of plans. You follow me, I have an idea." Jack replied, equally as as Dark aimed at the two.

As he pulled the trigger, Billy ran off to the side to avoid the blast while Anti and Jack darted towards him, confusing him.

Jack turned a sharp corner and entered what used to be the science labs, hoping that they were untouched.

Jack knelt down and ran his hand across the floor until he found a loose tile and hastily tore it off, finding a safe locked with a hand scanner.

Jack scanned his hand before opening it, excited to find the prototype of the "high fives all around" glove laying inside.

"How did you know that this was here?" Anti asked as Jack slipped the bulky glove on his hand, curling his fingers to activate it. Strips of green light along the fingers gradually spread from the bottom of the glove to his fingertips.

"I didn't. I just remember my dad telling me to not open the safe in the lab, so I guessed it would still get here." Jack shrugged as he unfurled his fingers, letting his heavier hand rest at his side.

They turned around to leave to nearly get hit in the face with a laser from Dark's gun, the red laser leaving a black scorch mark barely visible on the wall.

"You don't have to kill us." Jack held up his hands as Dark approached, ready to attack if necessary.

"I may be a clone of the Engineer, but I'm everything he wasn't. A perfect soldier. A robot that doesn't feel emotions. Stronger than he could ever be. He's light and I'm dark." Dark's expression was neutral as he squeezed the trigger.

Before the shot could go off, Dark whirled around away from Anti and Jack, confusing them.

Jack listened closer and heard a familiar sound.

"The TARDIS." Jack felt a grin spread across his face as he heard the welcoming wheezing groaning noise grow louder.

Anti and Jack watched as the Doctor's TARDIS materialize in front of them, blocking Dark.

"Look in a target!" The Doctor poked his head out of the door.

Dark fired at him, but the Doctor had already ducked back inside. The distraction allowed Jack to get close to Dark and use the glove.

"High fives all around!" Jack yelled energetically like his outro as he high fived Dark in the face. Dark flew several feet across the room, slamming his head into the wall and knocking him out instantly.

A few moments later, the Engineer's TARDIS appeared next to the Doctor's.

"Didn't know o had my own clone. He's a lot paler than me." The Engineer remarked as he opened the door and spotted Dark's unconscious form.

"What are you doing here?!" Jack blurted.

"A thank you would be nice." The Engineer pretended to look hurt.

"Thank you." Jack sighed, rolling his eyes.

"You're welcome. I came here because I figured you could use the help. You've been in here for almost three hours." Mark stayed with a shrug.

"Did you do it?" Signe asked as she bounded out of the Engineer's TARDIS and hugged Jack.

Amy followed after her, standing close by the Engineer.

"Mark!" Jack used the Engineer's alias he had on Earth.

"She's stubborn." The Engineer chuckled unapologetically.

"Strange that we have that in common." Billy giggled from the doorway.

"Will ever ever stop being annoying?" Jack growled in annoyance.

"Not until you stop being annoying as well." Billy countered.

"So this is a Billycon? He looks like a bratty little kid." The Doctor remarked.

"You wanna say that again?" Billy threatened, waving his dagger in front of the Doctor.

"Look, this can all be easily solved if you just leave and let me take what's rightfully mine." Jack huffed, irritated that he had to deal with Billy for so long.

He also didn't want any bloodshed if he could avoid it.

"It would be better if you did that instead." Billy retorted.

"This is just tedious." Anti hissed as he stormed towards Billy, his sword drawn.

"You want me to kill him first?" Billy lifted a dazed Dark to his feet and pressed the knife to his throat.

Anti instantly froze mid step, but didn't lower his weapon.

"Give up." Billy commanded, glaring at Anti.

"Billy-"

"Shut up, you're no longer needed." Billy interrupted Dark.

Dark fell silent, his eyes filled with hatred and betrayal directed towards Billy.

As Billy continued talking, Jack spotted Dark's weapon laying neglected a few feet from him.

"So now what?" Jack asked to buy him time to inch towards the gun.

"The people hate Anti, they can't hate me any more than him. I'll take over the throne publicly and initiate the takeover of Bossatronia." Billy explained casually as if talking about weekend plans, not world domination.

"And my people?" Jack raised a questioning eyebrow.

"They'll make excellent servants." Billy laughed.

"You're crazy!" Jack exclaimed, only a foot away from the gun.

"We're all mad here." Billy tapped the side of his head with the pint of his dagger.

Jack kicked the gun over to Anti before whipping his sword out.

Dark wrestled out of Billy's grip, but wasn't far enough away from the knife.

Instead of picking the gun up, Anti shoved Dark out of the way, causing Billy to slice Anti's neck in a horizontal line.

"You really think you can stop me?" Billy laughed again as he scooped the gun up himself, aiming it at Jack.

That was when a red laser hit Billy in the head.

Billy made no sound as he crumpled to the door with a soft thud, a smoking black hole in the middle of his forehead.

"Yes." Robin retorted as he shouldered the laser gun. It looked exactly like the one Dark had.

"I thought you didn't fight." Jack turned to face the Engineer.

"It was my dad's gun during the time war. He was a good soldier." The Engineer's eyes glazed over.

"Anti?" Dark whispered, kneeling down by his prone body. Blood was steadily pooling around Anti's neck, staining the floor crimson and in hung towards Dark's feet.

"He...risked his life for me." Dark spoke slowly in disbelief.

"He's still alive." The Doctor breathed in amazement, checking Anti's vitals.

"I have a first aid kit." The Engineer darted to his TARDIS and returned with a bottle of painkillers and a roll of bandages.

"W-what happened?" Anti coughed, causing the blood to flow out faster.

"Shh, you're gonna be alright." The Doctor assured him.

"Who are you?" Anti frowned in confusion as he watched the Doctor bandage him up.

"I'm the Doctor." The Doctor stated to distract Anti from the pain.

"He'll have to be stitched up once the bleeding slows down." The Doctor informed the group.

"I'll take care of him." Dark volunteered.

There was an awkward moment of silence as everyone tried to figure out what to do next.

"So Jack, what's your first act as king?" Robin spoke up.

"To give Anti the throne." Jack answered.

"What?!"

Everyone exclaimed in unison.

"I can't abandon all of the people on Earth that care about me. It's better if I help them. Besides, I know you can do great things here now that you're free from Billy." Jack placed a comforting hand on Anti's shoulder.

"A-are you sure?" Anti stuttered in bewilderment.

"Definitely." Jack nodded.

"Do you mind if I stay here with you?" Dark asked Anti.

"Go ahead, I could use the company." Anti smiled.

"Ready to go?"' The Engineer glanced over at Amy, Signe and Robin.

The trio nodded in agreement.

"Good luck....the Soldier." The Engineer waved goodbye as he and the others walked into the TARDIS.

"The Soldier?" Dark repeated in confusion.

"Your time lord name. You're loyal, brave, smart, and strong in more ways than one. Best of all, you're a hero." The Engineer smiled.

"I'll see you later...or earlier." The Doctor winked to the Engineer as he left in his own TARDIS.

"Now, where do you three wanna go?" The Engineer asked as he closed the door behind him.

"I'd like to go home." Signe folded her arms across her chest.

"Oh." The Engineer's excited expression fell, his gaze fixating on the floor.

Signe burst out laughing, confusing The Engineer.

"I'm kidding, I'd never give this up!" Signe admitted.

"Same here!" Amy chimed in.

"As long as I can keep up my channel I'm all for it." Jack interjected.

"Anywhere you go I'll go." Robin told Jack.

"Then heeerrreee we go!" The Engineer announced.

For years they all ran together like they were running out of time, even though they had all the time in the world.

They always ran towards the same thing, whether they admitted it to themselves or not.

Home.

I didn't mean for this to be this long, but I think it was totally worth it! Let me know what you guys think. My next book I'm starting is the Hamilton/Jacksepticey/Markiplier book.
