CHAPTER 22: Adrian's poop

Till now I have suffered my multiple bumps on my head and felt the truck in which I am currently in taking a lots of turns and breaks till it actually slowed down and stopped somewhere after God knows how many hours.

I kept my mouth shut when I felt the box being picked up and moved to some machine which was taking me away to some place. I do hope that it's the cargo hold of the private jet Adrian had told me about.

The small hole drilled a few inches away from my face was the only source of my light, air and the guesses I make about the places I might be at. I have never been outside the Agostini mansion and have only seen the mansion grounds and the grounds which covered outside the mansion. All sorts of groceries used to come in huge boxes whereas the vegetables were grown in the mansion grounds itself.

A few more seconds later I felt the box being kept on a surface and I heard many voices of the men speaking in fast Italian.

As Adrian himself warned me about no shoe prints and footprints on the soft baby clothes, I had took off my only pair of sandals. I didn't had much throughout my stay at the mansion. Just a pair of jeans and red hoodie which I am wearing, three maid uniforms and three night gowns. When I got shot in my leg, I was given shorts to wear. No dresses.

Few minutes later, the voices started to fade away one by one and footsteps retreated back.

Then there was total silence.

And I can't do anything except to wait.

I stayed quiet inside the box when suddenly, I felt everything around me started to vibrate and a deafening sound of engine pierced my ears, the clothes started shaking and tossing, the surface underneath me vibrated which made my whole body jerk along with it and I realised.

Holy shit. The plane is moving.

The plane is moving! The plane is moving! I laughed in happiness. I got out of the mansion right under the Agostini son's nose and now I am going to leave the country. He doesn't even know it!

In your face Leonardo Agostini. I'm going to make sure that you will never find out about this and never catch me, then I will have the last laugh when I'll go running to my parent's embrace when they'll open the door of our home and continue living my life again.

But if they—No negative thoughts! No negative thoughts! I have come so far and done so much to reach home. I am not going to let any negativities take over my mind and ruin my soon to be bounded happiness.

I braced myself as I felt everything including the box getting tilted and the plane took off.

Goodbye Italy! Sweet America, here I come!

A few more minutes passed and I felt everything getting straightened, indicating that the plane is now high up in the air.

Now what? It's either Adrian comes down here and gets me out of this box or I keep waiting for several hours till I land on America and make a run for it without anybody seeing me.

What am I even saying? I'm going to land on an airport. Airport means tight security, but aren't these guys the total opposite of security? I'll just have to blend in with the crowd.

I heaved a sigh and picked up a baby cloth. Hmm, it says my monkey.

"Ten little monkeys jumping on the bed. One fell down and broke his leg. Mama called the doctor and the doctor said..." I started singing one of the nursery rhymes in hopes that it will help me pass the time.

"...three little monkeys jumping on the bed. One fell down and broke his—" I stopped abruptly when I heard footsteps approaching me.

"Amelia?" Adrian whispered.

"In here."

In a swift motion the lid above me was removed and I sat up straight, gasping for air. Adrian handed me a bottle of water.

"Are you fine?" He asked in concern.

I gulped down the contents of the bottle and sighed in relief. "I'm fine. Just a bit of suffocation."

"Sorry about that."

"Don't be." I whispered hoarsely. "You have done enough for me."

He didn't say anything and simply helped me get out of the box carefully without ruining any of the clothes then he picked up the lid and closed the box, sealing it up for good.

"Now what?" I asked.

"The pilot and the air hostess are in the cockpit, the men have already taken a flight from another plane and..." He paused and gave me a remorse look.

I gulped inaudibly when I realised that the toughest part of my escapade has now arrived.

Leonardo Agostini was in the jet and I had to hide from him for almost thirteen hours while we all were thousands of miles high up in the air and closed in a metallic flying machine.

"The capo?" I asked cautiously.

"He's in his room." I released a breath I didn't know I was holding. "Probably working or sleeping. It's pretty late right now. I do hope that he won't come out until it is morning according our timezone."

I nodded in understanding as we climbed up the stairs, Adrian was ahead of me. "And I'll be hiding in your room?"

"My bathroom to be precise." He opened a trap door above us, his head popped up as he looked around then showed me his thumb. "All clear. Come with me."

I took the last step and my eyes popped out of their sockets when I saw the interior of the plane.

"Holy shit." I whispered in awe as I took in the rich surroundings.

Adrian smirked at my surprised reaction. "Welcome to the private jet of Agostini Enterprises, Amelia."

Every corner, every object in front of my eyes screamed money and power. Hell, even the small plastic dustbin in the corner screamed money and power. Everything was super shiny and clean. Brown leather seats which I feared to touch, an LED TV screen, a mini bar, four adjoining doors at the corners and untouched food kept at the glass table beside one door.

"Adrian?"

"Shh! Brother is inside that room." He pointed to the door where the food was kept outside. "Stay quiet and get in quick."

I followed him to one of the four doors and awed again. This one looks just like the rooms which are there in the mansion. Even my temporary room looked like this.

"Welcome to my room for thirteen hours and," He walked towards another door and clicked it open, "this is your hiding place for thirteen hours."

I looked inside the bathroom. It was a normal bathroom. A bathtub, a shower, a toilet and a beautiful marble washbasin.

Adrian sighed in exhaustion. "As much as I would like you to stay hidden in my room, I can't because fratello can come knocking any time he wants and i don't want you to bear the suffering of running into the bathroom to hide there all the time. It's best if you stay there and if you need anything, I'll be here."

I smiled. "Thank you, Adrian. It really means a lot. It's perfect."

"That's good to hear. You can freshen up and I'll call for dinner."

I shook my head. "It's okay. I have a couple of energy bars and a few sandwiches with me. I'll have those. I don't want to raise any suspicions."

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Trust me, I am." I assured him. "I'll be in the bathroom."

I closed the bathroom and pressed my head against the door, sighing in exhaustion. I'm only a few hours away from reaching home.

I was busy cleaning myself when suddenly I heard a knock and I stopped doing whatever I was doing.

This wasn't a knock from the bathroom door.

Holy shit. Somebody knocked Adrian's bedroom door.

"Adrian!" I whisper yelled as I peeked out of the bathroom door. He panicked and came running towards me. "The door."

"Si! Si! You stay here. I'm locking you from the outside." I nodded frantically and shivered in fear when I heard another door knock. The door got locked and I roamed around, looking for a place to fit in and hide but found nothing except the shower curtains.

"Leo! How can I help you?" I froze on my spot when I heard Adrian's voice outside. Shit, shit, shit. The capo is here?! Very carefully, I hid my duffel bag under the sink and pressed my ear on the door to listen to their conversations.

"I need to use your bathroom." I covered my mouth in shock, tears of sadness pooling in my eyes.

"W-What? Why?" Adrian stammered. "You have your own bathroom, use that."

Footsteps got nearer to the door, to me. "I do, but it looks like padre has broken the shower cap and I forgot to call the maintenance. I want to shower."

"Then use another bathroom!" He snapped. "I won't let you use mine."

"Why brother?" He asked. "Sharing is caring, isn't it? You're going to go harsh on your Little Leo?"

I bit my lower lip painfully to suppress my laugh. Little Leo? Oh God, that's damn too hilarious. I'll never forget this.

"Don't play that card on me. It's not going to work. You can't use my bathroom and that's final." Adrian said sternly.

"Are you hiding something from me, Adrian?" The capo growled. "I do not want to fight over a silly bathroom."

I saw the knob getting twisted inside as the capo twisted it open from the outside and I took a step back cautiously then suddenly the door banged, making me jump in fright.

"Adrian! What kind of nonsense is this?! Let me pass!" The Agostini son shouted.

"I-I can't."

"And why is that?"

"It's...It's a secret."

"Oh mio Dio, I knew it! You are hiding something from me. What is it?"

"I can't tell you."

"Adrian..."

"Leo, I...uhh...I pooped." Adrian blurted, "And I didn't flush."

My eyes popped out and took a quick peek at the toilet bowl. Phew! It's clean.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, I heard the capo clearing his throat. "Adrian, have you forgotten your potty manners?"

Adrian laughed nervously. "No, of course not. It's still the same, right? Poop, wipe, flush and wash."

"Glad to hear that you didn't forget. Why didn't you flush?" He asked.

"The flush is not working." Wow. I have got to salute this man for making excuses. "I don't think that you want to shower in my bathroom if my organic contents are swimming in the bowl."

"That's right." He hummed. "I really need to call up the maintenance. Come, dinner is served. We have a long and fun-filled day tomorrow."

"That's right!" Adrian exclaimed. "Till then my poop is going to stay in the bathroom!"

Is he talking to me?

Am I Adrian's poop?

Ew.

Seconds later, I heard the door shut close and I dropped on the closed toilet seat, covering my face with my hands and taking deep breaths to calm my frenzy nerves. That was so close. So close to lose everything again.

I jumped in fright again when I heard a door knock again, but this time it was on the bathroom door.

"Adrian?" I whispered, my heart beating wildly and sweat trickling down from my head to my neck. The lock clicked open and he hummed.

I sighed in relief and opened the door. Much to my surprise, nobody was present in the room and there was a plate full of pasta kept on the bed. Keeping my eyes at the door, I took the pasta and frowned when I saw a note under the plate.

'Have a hearty dinner, a beauty sleep and a headstart of two hours as soon as we land.

Good night, little girl.

August-mini.'

Fuck.
