Chapter 27

'I'm sitting
eye wide open
but I got
one thing stuck
in my mind'

I move back quietly and slowly, watching her face for any sign of murder. She's the Queen, she can kill me with the snap of her fingers.

But she does something totally unexpected. Her eyes soften and she holds her larger hands in mine.

"You gasped when you saw the portrait. You saw him! As soon as I saw you look at the portrait, I knew! I knew you had seem him on your travels! Do you know where he is? D-do you?"

Her voice cracks at the end and she wobbles slightly, using me to lean on. I awkwardly pat her back, not knowing how to treat a Royal. A Queen is crying on my shoulder. I'm pretty sure a rogue has never had the chance to say that before.

"It's just so hard, you know? He's been gone so long and I know it's my fault. I have searched far and wide for him and I try to be the Alpha Queen he wanted me to be but its just so hard."

The end comes out as a whisper and this time I hug her truly, massaging her back.

"I know how you feel. I too feel so lost. Yeah my situation is miles different for my yours and my mate is right here, by my side but I know. I do. Because I don't know if I should accept him. Because he killed a lot of people I loved."

She smiles and rubs the tears escaping from my eyes with her thumb. "I guess Queens aren't as strong as they act."

"Queens?"

The plural catches me off and I tilt my head slightly to the side, my eyebrows scrunched up.

"Yes Queens because you are a Queen in your own way. Never forget that."

She wipes her face one more time, this time the mean look back on her face. Then she walks away as if nothing ever happened.

Well that was odd.

I finish the scrumptious pancakes and groan at the smell of the Alpha. He is back and he has no right to be in front of Silas.

I see Silas glare at his own food as he too smells the enemy and cowardly male.

Jax stands up and greets the Alpha with the lowest respect possible.

The Queen enters the room, two guards protecting her like always. She glares at both Alphas, able to smell the testosterone levels rise intensely.

"We will be having the meeting now. Alphas, bring your respected people with you unless you feel as though they should not be present."

The both nod, bowing to her before she walks off, back in the direction she came. Her hair bounces prettily behind her and she's gone, leaving the two Alphas to eat in silence.

"Where is Noah?"

The question catches me off guard and I start coughing as soon as his name slips out of the Alphas mouth.

Silas rubs my back directing a questioning look at me and I clear my throat, bringing the enemy Alpha's eyes on me.

"He found his mate in our pack. He rejected your pack and is currently a rogue, waiting for his soon to be Alpha to respond to his acceptance letter."

I speak with authority, making sure to warn the Alpha that I am important, even if it was unintentional.

"He rejected our pack?"

I nod and take a sip of the tea. Not as good as Rhea's but good enough.

The opposing Alpha stands up immediately and evacuated the room, a distressed look illuminated on his face.

Silas clears his throat and my attention moves to him. "There is a new pack member?"

I nod and continue to finish the hot beverage.

"Rank and name?"

"Warrior and Noah something."

He rolls his eyes and his own chair scrapes against the floor, indicate his departure. "I'm going to the Alpha Queen's room. I would like both of you to be there but if one of you can't make it, I will understand."

Me and Jax nod in sync. I speak up, daring to be the Luna that I am supposed to be.

"I will come with you."

Both of the men look surprised but I brush them both off, pulls my dress down a bit. The Beta repeated the same thing and we are both following our Alpha to the Alpha Queen's meeting room.

A Royal guard stares at us, emotionless. He nods at our Alpha and opens the door, making sure to check if anyone is trailing behind.

We walk in and I'm in awe straight away.

The room is exhilarating. Glass chandeliers hang from the ceiling elegantly and the table is incarnated with the best designs.

Everything is amazing.

"Please, take a seat."

Following her command, I sit in a chair next Alpha Silas and the Alpha from the opposite pack.

"Why was there a war in the first place? What was the motive behind all of this?"

Both Alphas go to speak but the Queen hushes them with a single motion of her hand. "Alpha Zak first please."

Silas nods and sits back into his chair, disappointed.

"He has owed me for many years now my mate. A mate. He promised me many years ago he would let me take her and he didn't! I started to threaten him and when I found out he had a weakness, his own mate, I decided to attack."

The Queen raises her eyebrow but accepts the explanation anyway, nodding to Silas to tell his pout of view.

"What Zak forgot to tell you is that his mate hated him for killing her sister. She was afraid to go off with him and had requested personally to prevent him from coming to our pack. She's a valuable fighter and I accept anything given to me by my pack members. Why would I stop a mate from being with their own?"

Judging by the look of horror on Zak's face, it was clear to see that Silas had won this fight.

"Okay. All the evidence points to you. We already knew about your mate and confided with her personally. She told us the same as Alpha Silas. You surrendered your pack to Silas and I expect you full fill your promise."

Alpha Zak jumps out of his chair, snarling at the Queen. "I will not give away my pack to a worthless piece of shi* because a bitc* told me to!"

I gasp, not being able to hide my reaction. He just disrespected a higher ranking Alpha and the Alpha Queen with one stone.

"Is that so Zak? Am I just a bitc* to you? I can't deny it, for in fact I am a female dog. But I also own you so show me some goddamn respect! But I guess it's too late for that to. Now I'll just have to put your worthless piece of shi* life away in a cell where you'll rot with all the other cun*s down there."

She punches him in the nose and gets the guards to handcuff him with silver handcuffs. She strides over to Silas and rolls her eyes.

"I hereby pronounce you as the Alpha of the Moonshine pack as well as the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack. I will send the paperwork to your pack house. Rest here for tonight and leave tomorrow. I have things to do and people like him-"

She motions with disgust to the previous Alpha.

"-disturb me and annoy the shi* out of me. Pis* me off they do."

I don't think I've ever met a Queen with such foul language. I share shocked looks with Silas and walk out of the room, genuinely deeply confused at what just happened.

Interesting turn of events, no? The Queen definitely likes to swear and doesn't hold back.

The Alpha Queen is one if my favourite characters but you won't know why yet.
