Chapter 26

'It's just a
cruel existence
like there's no
point hoping
at all'

"You've been helping my pack members? When?"

I gulp, the intensity of two eyes making me feel guilty for something not even worth he guilt.

"I-"

I take a deep breath and look back up, determination in my eyes.

"It was when you guys were fighting. I kinda helped them a bit but I don't know why they were telling her the Alpha Queen because I wasn't acting like a saint."

He exhales and runs his hand through his hair, annoyed. The Queen had gone, leaving us with time to go for our own two-

Two? Two rooms? But there's three of us. How the hell do three people who have no mutual interest for each other go into two rooms?

It seems like the Beta John or whatever his name is has the same idea.

"Alpha, there is only two rooms."

Silas leans on his Beta and looks at me, smiling. "It's okay Jax, you take one room, we will sort out the rest."

Jax, that's his name. I knew it started with a J! Wait.. Did he just say Jax gets the one room?

Jax walks away from us and I reach out my hand, shouting. "Stop! I want the separate room, why does he get it?"

Silas is now leaning on me and he uses this to spin me around. He hugs me and leans towards my ear, his breath warming up my neck and my whole body.

"You're sleeping with me."

He drags me towards the room, limping but nearly back to his normal self. At least tomorrow I won't be used as a stand to lean on.

He opens the door with no effort at all and limps in, settling down on the bed. I close it and look around, noticing our stuff isn't here yet.

"Where's our stuff?"

As I say that, a knock comes from the other side of the door and I open it to see a few Royal Guards dragging our stuff.

I quickly reach for my suitcases and I grab Silas' whilst I'm at in, constantly walking in and out of the room.

He closes the door behind me, suddenly to close to me. I feel my heart beat faster and I'm sure he hears it as well.

He's so close to me, his eyes constantly flickering between my own and my lips.

"What are you doing to me Quinn? What are you doing to me?"

I try to breathe in, but it's so shaky and I can't stop myself from reacting to his proximity.

"Why do you act like you want to stay away from me when I make you feel like this. And I haven't even kissed you yet."

My eyes find his and suddenly I'm lost in his Forest. Everything he's thinking, everything he's feeling has suddenly become my own emotions and he kisses me. For so long, his lips are on mine and I only leave when I can't breathe anymore.

Closing my eyes, I turn around, not being able to see the consequences of what I've just done.

"I didn't mean to do that." It only comes out as a whisper but I can practically hear his heartbreak.

He walks as best as he can past me towards his suitcase and pulls out shorts. He starts to change in front of me and I duck down, grabbing my own night clothes.

Now I don't know what Rhea had packed for me so I'm praying to the Moon Goddess it's nothing to extravagant. Boy am I wrong.

I walk out of the bathroom in the silky nightgown, hoping to the Moon Goddess that he's asleep.

All I had was either this or clothes that get smaller and smaller. And all my everyday clothes are too elegant to wear to bed as I'm at the Alpha Queen's castle.

I gulp at the bright light that's still on and peek through my eyelashes to make sure he's asleep.

He's not.

He's staring straight at me, looking me up and down, his eyes turning more black by the second.

"Why are you wearing that?" His voice comes out husky and deep, affected by what I'm wearing. I pull the hem of the silky softness down and walk towards the bed.

"Rhea packed my pyjamas, I had no idea." My voice comes out as barely a whisper. I turn the light off before actually getting into the bed, engulfed in darkness.

I feel him shift closer to me and I gulp, the tension thick enough to slice.

"Stop. Don't come any closer."

He stops moving towards me and lays on his back, his head resting in his hand. He's looking up at the ceiling and I'm looking at him.

"If you want me to stop moving closer, then you've got to stop looking at me like that."

I nod as if he can see that and turn around, laying on my side. When I hear his light snores, I move close to him, letting his scent succumb me in safety.

Raven sighs in the warmth and I do too. I snuggle up to his chest and he unconsciously tugs em closer, enveloping me into a hug.

I sigh in happiness and close my eyes, letting myself and my wolf rest with our mate for this moment. For this moment only.

The bright light from outside stings my eyes and I run them, gradually waking up. My leg is swung over his and he's staring straight at me, playing with my hair.

"Stop. Don't come closer huh?"

I close my eyes again and take a deep breath and look back up. "It must've...happened in the night."

"Don't lie to me, I felt you snuggle closer into me. I was only in light sleep Quinn."

I roll my eyes and snuggle in closer, knowing there's nothing to lose now. He doesn't seem to care and pulls me as close as I possibly can be to him.

I open my eye and look at his green ones smiling down at me. "What time is it?"

He grabs his phone from the shelf, making sure to not wreck the position we are both in. "It is 9:56am."

"When does the Queen want you down?"

He groans and looks at me again, pretending to act like a child. "10." Gaping in horror, I slap his chest and untangle myself from him.

"Seriously! You could've told me before! I have to go in a shower as well!" Standing up and stretching, I go to my suitcase and pull out a black body con dress to wear.

"Maybe we can share a shower, then we'll save time." He wiggles his eyebrows and I scoff. "No."

I grab underwear and cover it with the dress and towel. "I'm going in a shower. I'll try to be in ten but if we are late, I blame you."

I open the door, put my clothes on the hanger and smirk at him, shutting it. The shower rains hot water down on me and it feels great.

I love showers, they are like massagers with water. I wash everything and shave my legs. If I'm wearing a dress, I don't want hairy legs showing.

The soft purple towel I had stolen from Silas' bathroom rests around my body and I shiver in delight from the softness. After brushing my teeth, I pull the body con dress on.

The body con dress fits a bit too perfectly on my body and I dry my hair with the hairdryer in the bathroom. Yep, they have a hairdryer in the bathroom. How posh do these people want to get?

I finish drying it and open the door whilst pulling my hair into a pony tail. Anything to get the curly bomb out of my face.

Silas pulls on his blazer and I check my phone to see the time. "Where did you have a shower at?"

He turns and is momentarily shocked at my clothing. I roll my eyes and ignore the delighted Raven screaming in happiness in my head.

"I went to Jax's room. He'd already used the shower so he let me use it."

I nod and gasp at the time. "Why do you look like a fish?"

A fish? A fish?! "I do not look like a fish! And because it's half ten. Half ten! 10:30! We are half an hour late!"

I run out of the room and sprint down the stairs wearing no shoes and I stop directly in front of the Queen, hitting her in the arm.

Whoops?

Update! I decided to do this one early so I'm free for the rest of the day. Also, I had ideas for this chapter anyway so it was quiet easy to write!
