Chapter 25

'I'll be with you
from Dusk 'til Dawn,
Baby I'll be
right here'

An incredibly tall man leads us towards the 'throne room' as he calls it. He's literally the most emotionless man I've ever met in my entire life. Even more boring than Silas ever was.

The Beta and I walk on either side of Silas, ready to catch him any time. The stoic man in front of us stops and salutes another similar dressed man. The other guy does the same and me and the Beta share a look.

This is more stricter than I ever thought. This women must be damn mental.

The huge, scribed door is pushed open and it reveals a huge room, fit for a King and Queen.

I'm speechless. So speechless. The woman sat on the throne is beautiful. Her white hair falls perfectly in natural locks and her dress makes her look so elegant and posh. She clicks her fingers and two guards close the door behind us.

Her striking grey eyes stare into my own boring brown eyes, piercing my soul. It's like she's reading my soul, searching for anything she could use against me. There's a lot to find out and I've got to make sure she doesn't.

Her eyes flick over to Silas and she looks him up and down, only taking a second to see who he is.

I exhale sharply when she looks at her guards and I can't stop my mind from wandering. What happened to the Alpha King? Where did he go in the last three years?

My eyes drift to a picture, a portrait of the missing King and I gasp in shock. I've seen him, I've definitely seen him.

Approximately Two years ago:

I fish out some food from my old bag, ignoring the smell coming from my right. If someone's going to fight me today, bring it on. I've just escaped from a dangerous, psychopathic rogue, I can officially take on anything and everything.

I breathe in the smell of the sandwich, scoffing it down in approximately one second. Food, such a scarce thing now-a-days, just like space and clothes. I'm not going to survive.

The smell of a werewolf gets stronger and stronger until it's right behind me. I sense the power, the power of a man so high but again I ignore it.

If I'm going to die, I'm going to die on my birthday. At least I'll be happy and new age.

"Why haven't you run?"

I groan at the interactive wolf and growl, not wanting to talk. "Why haven't you attacked me yet?"

"Because you don't look like a threat."

I roll my eyes, sick of talking and turn around, shuffling on my butt. I ain't going to lie, he's hot. He's brown hair is all messed up and his shirt looks two sizes small, stretching across his muscles.

Still, I don't show it because however hot he may be, he will never compare to my mate. My mate who I will not remember. Who I will totally forget. Who doesn't even exist.

"What's a guy like you, who by the the way doesn't even smell like a rogue, doing in a place like this with close like that?"

He keeps his eyes trained on me, making sure I don't attack him. "Calm yourself, I'm not gonna attack. Why add to the bruises?"

He walks towards me until he's sat next to me. We both stare deeply into the forest and I enjoy the silence and the presence of someone who doesn't seem like he'll attack me.

"What bruises?"

I snap out of my daze and look at him, confused. "What?"

He rolls his eyes and asks again. "You said and I quote 'why add to the bruises?', what bruises?"

His husky voice seems so loud to me and I shuffle slightly away from him. "I got into a small fight with another rogue."

He raises an eyebrow. "How small?"

I grin and extend my arms to the limit. "About this small." He scrunches his eyebrows and looks back at the forest.

"That bad?" I snort and scoff at the same time, resulting in a weird noise.

"Definitely that bad. But I'm a rogue, I have to get used to it if I want to survive."

I stand up, cleaning the mud off my stolen clothes and stretch. "It's been nice to talk to someone after so long. Thanks for that. But, as the sun sets and the big red moon comes out, I have to leave. I don't want to kill someone with all the anger built up in me. After all, it's the red moon."

He laughs at me, as if I could never touch him, never mind kill him.

"You could never win me. And anyway, I can help you control your wolf on the red moon if you want me too."

For the rest of the night, I stayed human, enjoying the red moon and controlling my wolf rather than going on a killing spree and living up to my rogue name.

He stayed with me for about a month or so and then he left one night, leaving me to the rest of the forest on my own. That's when I learnt not to rely on anyone, because everyone leaves. Like I did. Like 'Ryan' did.

Ryan, what a fake, real name.

Making sure to keep a normal face, I star back at the Queen and clear my throat, bringing the attention on me.

"What was his name?"

She looks at me as if I'm the dumbest werewolf ever. That's probably because I am. I don't even know the Alpha King's name.

"His name is Leo."

I ask for water and watch Silas gulp down his champagne.

"I have called you for a reason." My eyes snap back to the strict Queen.

"Your pack has been recently attacked, I've heard. He's given his pack to you as my Royal Enforcers have told me. You have paper work to fill out in front of me and both of you have to be in the same room in order for that to happen. I expect no fighting in front of me or you will both be punished with 30 silver whips."

I gulp silently, remembering the pain of my own. She continues to speak but I drown her out until a certain word catches my attention.

"-mate. Numerous pack members have been coming to me from your pack informing me that there is in fact a Luna that you have not yet made a Luna. They have been telling me that she has been helping them and you need a Luna. Your pack will fail. I will be forced to take it off you and reward it to whoever fights fairly for it. You have no choice but to make this girl your Luna, mate or not."

I feel my heart beat faster and I wipe the sweat off the back of my neck and rub my hands against my dress.

I can't become Luna. Too much responsibility.

"I have heard many Alphas are deciding whether the Moonshine Pack Alpha was right. Many want to take your pack off you. I have my own problems to deal with, do not add your pack to them otherwise I'll take it off you."

She gulps down the last sip of her champagne and hands it to her guard, staring straight at me.

"Make her your Luna or suffer the consequences. You have two rooms made for you. My guard will take you there. The Alpha of the Moonshine Pack will be arriving. The red moon is coming, I suspect you should make your mind up by then. You may leave."

She stands up, her dress eagerly following her on the floor. Two guards walk behind her and she's gone, leaving me with a confused Alpha and Beta.

Updates are back on track! The story has become a bit more interesting and the Alpha Queen has been introduced!

Also, you have now received a mini glimpse of Quinn's time of survival in the woods! And she met the Alpha King, can you believe it. The red moon is coming and every wolf is getting angrier by the day. Damn.

What do you think will happen when the red moon comes?

What will happen between the two Alphas?

Do you think Quinn will want to become Luna?

What do you think Silas thinks about this Luna thing?

Did you think this was what the Queen had called them for?

Where do you think is the Alpha King now?
