I was 12 years old when my parents left me. All they left was a note saying they couldn't be parents and that I would be living with my Aunt Larissa. My life was really great until then. Good things for me are only temporary.

I was 16 when I met my first love. Derek came and went faster than the door hit me, it seems. I first met Derek in school. I was behind the door, about to open it when he opened the door from the other side, hitting me and causing a gauge in my forehead. I had to get 7 stitches. Derek came to the hospital to visit me and from there, I fell head over heels. Derek left me on our one year anniversary. Derek moved and I haven't heard from him since.

I lost my best friend to cancer when I was 14. I've lost everything I've ever cared about. My best friend, my parents, my first love. I love my aunt and she's the only good thing that's ever stayed for me. But I know it's only a matter of time until that's over with.

I don't believe in love at first sight. I believe in falling fast, and falling hard. But I don't think you can fall in love with someone after hardly knowing them.

It's too temporary.

Like everything I've ever cared about.
