Its been a week since I got Justice, she is amazing! She is always there for me, I am out of the house more. Sophie has been great, Officer Nate just got out of the hospital, and is stsying with Sophie. They had worked side by side before the event, so he and Sophie got along. She had extra beds for all of us, so we were all relaxed. We were like a family, a family that I had neve had before.

The comfort within the house, was warm and inviting. Unlike my old house with my parents years ago. It was always dark and cold, things were never working..and we were always treated badly. My mom and siblings got the worst end of the deal...being killed.

"So, Tessa, how have you been?" Nate darts at me.

"Im feeling better. Justice has helped tons." My hand glides across her back, sending her ears into relaxation.

"I remember her...she was a good pup when she was a police dog. Its unfortunate of what happened of her handler and partner...but it seems you and her get along just as good as they did. Maybe better!"

The door bang loudly, like a fist beating it up.

"Ill get it." Sophie says, looking through the eyehole before opening.

"Its just the new kid."

Ever since that morning, ive been terrified of knocks, such as a knock on a door or piece of wood. It sends shivers down my spine, and breaks me into pieces. My heart drops, and everything becomes shattered. But when I release, its not my father, my shoulders relax and my body pieces back together.

"Soo... umm Jack, do you want to meet Tessa?"

"Umm sure" a little boy softly replies, he appears to be about 10. Maybe less.

His short legs and thin body, make the room big.

Meg, Sophies daughter, instantly recongizes him.

"Jack!!!! I remember babysitting you when you were only this tall." She hovers her hand a few inches off the floor. By the guess of it, she had babysat him when he was a baby still.

"Hahha" he giggled.

"Jack, meet Tessa. She will be staying with us for a while."

My eyes glance, nervously towards him, I had never really talked a whole lot since the accident. Nate has helped me a little, so has Meg.  Justice has helped tons.

I remain quite, unsure of how to respond.

The little boy, glanced at me strange. The same kind of glance, that my father had given me before he ran. It sent shivers within me.

My heard quickly glances away, not wanting to look at the boy.

"Umm...she is a tad shy. Sorry Jack, so what brings you over here?"

Justice rubbed her nose into my hand, as if to distract me from something.

"Silly girl." I quietly whisper through my breath.

She sits up, wagging her tail.

For the past couple of days I've been wanting to go back to jogging..I've just been a tad nervous to.. I'm starting to think today is the day.

The day I'll get out and be myself again.

Jack headed out the door, and Sophie gently closed it behind him.

"Are you okie, Tessa?" Meg questions me.

"I'm fine. Just not used to talking to others." I dart at her.

"Well you don't seem fine." She pouts and sits back in her chair. Resting her eyes upon mine, at glance.

"So can I go jogging? I really wanna go back to my old routine!I miss feeling the breeze as I jog!! Please Sophie! Please Nate"

Sophie and Nate glance at each other, as if in shock.

I wonder if they think it's to early.....I hope not I wanna run!

"Umm... umm..Sophie what do you think?" Nate stutters.

"As long as Meg and Justice comes."

I nod.

Meg rushes to her room to grab her shoes.

Who needs shoes!

I sit up, grabbing Justice's leash from the coffee table, and attach it to her vest. I keep the vest on her all of them time now, but I do take it off at night when she sleeps.

I wait by the door, Meg quickly returns with blue shoes on.

My band twists the knob, and we walk outside. Meg closes the door behind us.

Justice seems exited, she was her tail as she walks beside me.

We remain walking for a few, getting me used to it. Not daring to push into something I wasn't ready for.

The sidewalks were small, so Meg walked infront as she knew the place.

She picks up the pace, stepping into a light jog. I follow. Justice jogs beside me, staying close by my side.
