Chapter 2.
Tams POV:
I sighed, getting up. "Where do you think you're going Tam? You have Combat training with Firefly." Fintan said. '*Oh shoot!*' I thought. Firefly got up. I was scared of her. She looked like a good fighter, and because of my shadow vapor reading I sensed she was intelligent. "Come on, follow me." Firefly said. I followed her into the combat room. It was larger than the main room, so everyone could train in there, and also made it so they could also store weapons in the room as well. "Well, we're going to work on hand-to-hand combat. If you don't have weapons, hand-to-hand combat is a good skill to have." She said. I nodded. "You attack me first." Firefly told me. I began to size her up. She was in a relaxed position, but then I noticed her right shoulder was more tense than the rest of her body. I looked at her shoulder, judging the distance and how far I would have to move, and how fast. I lunged at her, but she dodged easily. She tripped me and forced my arms behind my back. "First part of the lesson, Never, and I mean NEVER let your enemies know where you're about to attack." "Try again. And this time don't let me know where you're going to attack me." Firefly said. This time I looked at her left leg, but I was aiming for her left shoulder. When I lunged at her again, I knocked her down. I pinned her arms down. I felt like I was in a dominant position, but she flung me of somehow and pinned me down. "That was good, but the way you had that position gave me an advantage. I looked like I was trapped, but I wasn't." She told me. I nodded. '*Maybe this will be useful after all. The Neverseen always seem to be 2-3 steps ahead.*' I thought.
****One Combat Training Lesson Later*****
"That was fun." Firefly said. I gasped for air. We had gone through so many different hand-to-hand combat techniques I had lost count. "You need to get water. Shade training will be really rough if you aren't hydrated. Umber was... very brutal when it came to Shadow Flux." She said. I noticed her shiver. Her eyes glazed over for a second, and it seemed as if she was reliving something terrible. I didn't notice that I had sent shadows to calm her down until she relaxed. "thank you." She whispered. "No problem." I replied. '*Why did I send those shadows to her? I didn't even notice myself doing it...*' I wondered. "I have Pyrokinetic training with Fintan. Pyrokinesis is hard for me to control in this form, so it's best i get there quick, otherwise he might as well burn me." Firefly said. I nodded absentmindedly. As i walked to Umber's old room, I noticed that Glimmer was watching me. I tried to calm down the chills that went up and down my back, but the refused to listen. I quickly went into Umber's old room and grabbed her journals. "Why are you running away from me?" Glimmer asked me. "No reason. You're just creepily watching me in the dark." I snapped at her. I stepped around her and went to my room in the NeverSeen base. She trailed behind me like a puppy following its owner. "Stop following me!" I spun around and glared at her. I didn't want to work with Shadow Flux, so I wasn't in a good mood, and she was making it worse. She gave me a sad gaze. I put one of my hand in a pocket and felt something cold in it. It was shaped like a throwing star. i pressed it into my palm, and somehow the chill calmed me down. "Leave me alone." I told Glimmer. She sighed. "Fiiiiine." She left and went to the main room, maybe to see if there was any food left over. I sat down and began to look through Umber's journals.
Firefly's POV:
I looked at Fintans cold eyes. He seemed to be in a sour mood. I decided not to talk a lot. "Swirl Blast, now." Fintan commanded. I quickly harnessed his Pyrokinesis and swirled fire in a circle, then brought it together and powerfully blasted it. Heat showered through the room, and I felt the embers reach for my skin. I quickly scaled my arms and legs, making it so the fire wouldn't harm me in anyway. Fintan gave me a cold stare. I disliked how was so demanding when it came to training. He rolled out some targets. "Hit each of them with fire." He told me. I blasted each one of them. He narrowed his eyes at where the flames had hit. I had hit a majority of Bulls-eyes, and only 3 of them didn't have a bulls-eye. "Good job." He said. "Thank you." I replied. He seemed to be setting the expectations higher and higher by the day. I didn't know why he would do that, maybe to see if he could make me snap, but I wasn't as weak as he thought. '*He needs to learn to not be an idiot when it comes to being nice to people who work with him.*' I thought. I did another Swirl Blast, but this time I was attacking a larger target. I hit it and it began to burn up. I watched as it turned into a pile of ashes. I gave Fintan his Pyrokinesis back. I really didn't want to be an elf for a bit. I missed flying. I looked at the hole in the roof of the desert base. Faint sunlight tried to get through a pile of sand on the top. I quickly left the room and ran out of the base, using the tunnels. As my boots hit the desert sand, I quickly felt myself change. Then, with a faint pop noise, I was a dragon. I felt the wind pulling at my wings, begging me to fly. I spread my wings and flapped into the clear cloudless blue sky. As I glided through the air, I heard the Rest of the NeverSeen climb out onto the sand. I did a flip in the air, letting myself free fall. I snapped my wings open at the last second, flying up high until I saw the water that was by the base. The oasis helped us survive. I flew so high that I felt clouds part along my wings. I divided down, and just before hitting the water, I turned into a sea-blue water dragon. I slid into the water effortlessly, feeling the coolness of it against my scales. I took in a breath through my nose, feeling the water turn into air. '*It's been such a long time since I've had this much fun.*' I thought, pulling myself out of the water. My scales turned dry, so I turned into a normal desert dragon. My now sandy colored wings pulled me through the air. I watched the NeverSeen gawk at me from the sand. I dived down, and as soon as my Talons touched the sand, I turned back into an elf. They all looked at me with shock. "That was really cool to watch!" Glimmer told me. I gave her a small smile. "It really was." Tam told me. I nodded. Gisela looked at me. "Do you mind if we all rode on your back when you're a dragon? We need to go to the Palace. I already have the contract with me." Gisela said. I fumbled with my pouches. They held potions, poisons, food, and water. I sighed. "Okay. BUT. Do not by any means, get close to my tail. Well, unless you want to be stranded in the desert, or in the middle of the sea, or die from falling off of me because you decided to be the dum deceased one of the group." I replied. They all had terrified expressions on their faces. "Also, please don't pull on my horns. Since I have 2 pairs, I know you'll want to, but, if you do, YOU GET TO BE FLUNG OFF OF MY HEAD. Got it?" I said with an 'I am sooooooooooooooo innocent' smile and face. {A/N. Pls be thinking of the Pretty Little Psycho song for this moment pls.} I watched them nod in terror. '*That was satisfying.*' I told myself. I focused, and turned into what I normally would look like as a dragon. Dark purple scales, a long tail, medium blue eyes with faint green in them, large wings, sharp claws and teeth, two pairs of horns, the ones on the sides curled like a rainwings prehensile tail, and my other ones, which looked like a leafwings horns.{A/N. Please look these up if you don't know what it looks like.} I felt the thin fur along my spine flutter in the wind. I knelt down, and they all climbed on my back. "Hold on tight little tiny noobs at flying."
1504 words! I hope you liked this chapter. I know I am very evil with my cliffhangers. Thank you for joining this boat ride of chapter 2! Like I said in chapter 1, you can pretend Firefly is you in the story, but she has her own description, and character traits. You can change these mentally though! {Her description.} I believe I might be able to post another chapter today, if I work hard and don't decide to be lazy and play video games. Thx for reading! -Agent Black.
