Her heels clicked loudly on the concrete as she strut down the street, a steaming coffee in one hand and her expensive handbag in the other.
She raised the paper takeaway cup to her glossed lips, blue eyes taking in the scenery of the town she had left behind 2 years ago.
"Genevieve?" A voice that she was unable to forget called out from across the street.
She stopped in her tracks, groaning quietly as she closed her eyes, mentally preparing herself for what was to come.
"Genevieve, wait up!"
"Elena," she spun around, an obviously fake smile on her glossy lips. "Its sure been a while, hasn't it? Maybe it wouldn't have been as long if you didn't call my brother."
"I don't regret what I did."
"I don't doubt that, but you really should. You see, we all made up that night and now we're closer than ever. They would kill you in a heartbeat if I asked them to," Gen smirked. "But I suspect that is not what you wanted to talk about, is it?"
"No," the doppelgänger shook her head lightly. "No I'm here to tell you to say away from Stefan."
"And why would I do that?"
"You left without a trace. You never answered any of his phone calls." Elena paused for a short moment. "You broke his heart."
"So did you."
"He doesn't want to see you ever again, so just stay away, okay?"
Genevieve tapped a manicured finger against her chin as if she were in deep thought before taking her hand away and smirking, "I'd like to see you make me."
The blonde gave the brunette a final glance up and down before pushing past her and continuing on her way towards the house she hadn't seen in 2 years.
She was nervous, of course, but she had to see him. She had to tell him what had really happened.
