Genevieve swiped her fingers under her tear filled eyes in an attempt to clear her blurry vision. Her slim fingers tightly gripped the keys to the red sports car she had compelled herself about a year prior.
A few feet from the door, the keys slipped from her fingers, landing on the ground with a jingle. She bent down to pick them up, only to be met with a pair of worn out boots. The blonde looked up, an audible gasp leaving her lips and fear filling her blue eyes.
"Hello, sister," Klaus spoke with the same mischievous smirk he had been wearing for a millennium. "Long time no see."
"I was hoping to keep it that way," she spoke with a bitterness he had never had aimed towards him – not from her, at least. "You do want me to rot in a coffin after all."
"Elijah has made me promise not to dagger you until we've discussed everything as a family." The Hybrid gripped her arm tightly and pulled her behind him.
Using his supernatural speed Klaus took them to the mansion the Mikaelson's had resided in when they had been living in Mystic Falls. Genevieve was promptly dumped into a chair upon their arrival, her siblings surrounding her when she finally looked up.
Elijah let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in when his youngest sister made eye contact with him. He had been angry with her for a century, but upon looking into her bright eyes he felt all his anger fade away.
"If you're going to stick a dagger in my heart then just hurry up and do it. I've spent a hundred years running from the lot of you; I'm tired." She shrugged a little. "I give up."
"We just want to know why you did it," Elijah crouched down in front of her. "Help us understand so we can all move on. We can be a family again."
"I didn't do it," she shook her head and stood up. "You have no idea how many times I've almost been caught. How many times I've had to climb out a window to get away from him. I don't scare easily, but Nik, oh god, Nik scares the hell out me. How could he not? My brother wants me dead."
"This is my fault," Rebekah interjected. "All of this is my fault."
"What are you talking about?" Elijah furrowed his brow.
"I summoned Mikael."
"You did what?" Klaus' voice remained calm but anger blazed in his eyes.
"Marcel and I, we wanted to be together. It was the only way. I'm sorry."
"I spent a century on the run from a family that shunned me because of you," Genevieve slowly made her way over to her sister, anger much like Klaus' in her eyes. "I cannot believe you pinned all this on me for Marcel. What happened to always and forever, huh?"
She moved to lunge at her, only to be held back to Klaus, who gave a pleading look.
"We're a family and therefore the decision must be unanimous, all those in favour of daggering Rebekah raise your hand," Klaus spoke before slowly raising his hand. Genevieve didn't have to think twice about her decision, though Elijah seemed to ponder on it for a few moments before ultimately agreeing with his siblings. "It's decided then. Rebekah will be daggered and when she wakes up we can go back to normal."
The youngest Mikaelson let out a loud sigh, running a hand through her curled hair.
"We're original vampires, Nik, we don't get normal." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Which is why I should be daggered too. I may not be guilty of summoning Mikael, but I am guilty of abandoning my family."
"No, Gen, you don't have to do this," Rebekah shook her head, a soft hand reaching for her sister's.
"Yes, I do. I just – there's someone I need to see first."
