✧ EXTENDED SUMMARY ✧

jude patterson was an odd boy to the town of hawkins. he was fairly tall for a boy his age, and half of the town had never heard the boy talk. most assumed he was mute or deaf, but all the rumors were untrue. he was just a very quiet person who liked to keep to himself. he didn't have any friends because he rarely spoke. he had tried making friends but his voice is naturally quiet so it was hard to speak up. when he was alone he would read, listen to music, or would help his mom around the house. jude is 14 now and a freshman in high school. he wasn't so happy when he learned that they had an english project to do with a partner. get to know your partner. he had to talk to a stranger for about 2 weeks, boy was he not excited about that.

━ Like I said before Jude is very soft spoken and gets made fun of because everyone thinks he's mute or deaf, and when he does speak, it's usually when he gets picked for reading aloud or something, then people laugh when the teacher keeps having to tell him to speak up.

━ The Party thinks he's weird (mostly Dustin) because the boy never talks.

━ Yes i am basing this off of a Friends quote. (The episodes where Joey is in love with his co-star)

━ Dustin goes to ask the teacher if he could get a new partner. The teacher tells him to give him a chance bc Jude is a good kid.

━ Dustin is the one who mostly talks during the project.

━ maybe like a week in Jude starts to participate. Saying there's a reason why he rarely ever talked. The reason is before his dad left he said "you're just a little f****t with an annoying voice. You will never be anything".

━ Yes. Mr. Patterson is an asshole.

━ Dustin feels bad for all the times he said he was weird

━ That night Dustin spent the whole day trying to get a response or something from him. He finally did then they spent all night talking. (Ex. Likes, dislikes, Dustin's friends, DnD, chocolate pudding)

━ They go to school the next day, walking through the door talking. Everyone is sh00keth that Jude is talking.

━ Dustin and Jude approach the party. They all pull him aside, whispering loudly.

━ Mike being the asshole he is bringing up that he said Jude was weird and kind of rude.

━ Dustin telling Mike to shut up.

━ Dustin turning to Jude and seeing the frown on his face. Dustin rolls his eyes before walking with Jude to their lockers. It's silent because Jude is kind of hurt.

━ Dustin tells him that maybe they could get ice cream or something after school.

━ Dustin tells the party that he's actually pretty cool, just quiet.

━ After getting to know about Jude more Dustin could develop a crush on him

━ After the project is over Dustin asks if he still wants to hang out. Jude is confused and says that the projects over, and that he didn't have to talk to him out of pity.
