[Twenty]

Amelia didn't know how long Slade had kept her chained up for. She stopped counting after day fourteen. She was weak and tired and the chains had made her skin bleed and scraped away at her flesh. Slade's men checked on her morning and night, often hitting her when she didn't answer them or do as she was told.

But Amelia felt no pain, which annoyed the men further causing them to hit her harder. By this time, Slade had become lax at making sure Amelia was chained up. Over the weeks she had managed to pull the chains almost completely out of the wall and today was the day when she would make her escape.

"Hello Mia, how are you this fine evening?" Slade asked, entering the room.

Amelia didn't answer him as he walked in front of her. He cupped her cheek and forced her to look up at him.

"It's polite to answer someone when they speak to you." He said calmly.

Amelia spat in his face.

Slade stepped back and used the sleeve of his jacket to wipe away the saliva before turning back to Amelia.

"I thought we'd take a little trip out today. Maybe visit the remaining people from the Queen family." He told her, but Amelia did not react to his words. She wouldn't give him the luxury of seeing her worried or angry.

Deciding it was now or never, Amelia tugged at the chains with all the energy she had and heard a satisfying crunch as they fell from the wall. Shock overcame Slade and he hesitated for a split second, but that was all Amelia needed. Using the chain as a weapon, Amelia whirled it towards Slade and it sliced through the skin on his cheek. She pulled back and fired the chain at him once more, this time hitting the back of his legs.

Finally Slade began to react and as Amelia went to hit him a third time he caught the chain and pulled it off her.

"Now Amelia that wasn't nice." He scolded and launched himself at her.

Amelia ran to the door, pulling at the door handle.

It was locked.

"Dammit." Amelia hissed. She hadn't anticipated the door being locked even though that should've been obvious.

Amelia turned to face Slade, determined not to go down without a fight. Slade laughed at her determination.

"You can't beat me." He laughed.

Amelia didn't speak, she merely threw herself at him and he recoiled, hitting the wall. She punched him in the jaw and dragged her nails along his face, drawing blood. Slade almost seemed bored and he pushed Amelia backwards. With the Mirakuru coursing through his blood, Slade easily overpowered her and Amelia fell to the ground, whacking her head off the cold concrete.

"Let's go pay a family visit." Slade spoke.

Amelia woke to the sound of voices. Familiar voices. Her eyes finally focused and she realised that she was in the arms of someone. She looked up and saw that it was a masked man, and he was neither Slade nor Oliver.

"Who the hell are you?" Amelia demanded.

"Andrew." He answered gruffly.

"Well Andrew please put my down before I kill you." Amelia said sweetly.

Andrew ignored her and continued to walk. Amelia attempted to carry out her threat, only to find that she couldn't move out of his iron grip.

"You're one of Slade's Mirakuru minions." Amelia huffed.

Once again Andrew ignored her. Amelia listened into the nearby voices, that became louder as they got closer.

"Where is she?" A voice demanded.

Relief coursed through Amelia as she heard Oliver's voice, he was alive.

"Right here." Slade laughed. "Andrew." He called.

Andrew entered, Amelia in his arms. Her eye landed on Oliver, who rushed towards her only to be stopped by Slade as he pushed him back.

"Come any closer and she's dead." Slade threatened.

Andrew set Amelia down on the ground and she wobbled slightly. Andrew gripped her waist to steady her and Amelia tried to wriggle out of his grip, but to no avail. She noticed that Slade was now holding Felicity, even thought Amelia was unaware that her sister was even there in the first place.

"Let them go Slade." Oliver spoke. "This is between you and I."

Slade shook his head and gripped Felicity tightly. "Not anymore kid. I'm afraid to say that Amelia is of more importance to me than you. It'll be a bit of a bonus when she's mine."

Amelia felt like this was a good time to but in. "Slade, stop."

Slade turned to face her, and Amelia was surprised to see confusion upon his face. "Leave them be. You say that you have feelings for me, right?" Her voice was soft and Andrew let her walk towards him. She watched as Slade's grip on her blonde haired twin loosened ever so slightly.

"Yes. You know I do. I love you Amelia." He said.

Amelia shook her head. "This isn't love Slade. When you love someone you don't chain them up and hold the captive for weeks. You don't threaten their fiancé and their twin sister. You want them to be happy."

Slade remained silent as the words replayed in his head. Just as he spoke, Amelia realised her mistake. She had called Oliver her fiancé.

"You're marrying him?" Slade spoke slowly and accusingly as he pointed at Oliver.

Amelia gulped and but her lip. "Slade -" she began when he cut her off.

Slade turned his head away from Amelia and looked over his shoulder to the empty air. "I told you this would happen. You said to wait, but I told you." He hissed at the empty space.

Something clicked with Amelia's mind as she watched Slade. Oliver's words echoed within her mind and she attempted to remember the name of the girl from the island.

"You see her don't you?" Amelia spoke causing Slade to look at her. "You see Shado. It's okay, I know what it's like to see someone that you love once you've lost them."

"Oliver isn't dead." He hissed. "Yet." He added.

"I didn't see Oliver. I used to see my best friend Tommy. He died in my arms and there was nothing I could do. For ages after he died I saw him. He used to talk to me, I'd wake up and see him there. Only he wasn't there Slade. Just like Shado isn't." Her voice was soft and alluring and Amelia saw Slade's facial expression soften. "If you love me Slade, if you really do, you'll let us go. That woman that you're holding against her will right now, that's my sister. One of the few people that I love. And you're hurting her."

"Well she mustn't love you as much as you love her." Slade roared, completely ignoring the majority of Amelia's words. "I heard your sister and your dear fiancé talking. He claims to love her." He smiled triumphantly as the words fell from his mouth.

Amelia pretended to look hurt and as she turned to Oliver she assumed that it was convincing as he looked absolutely heartbroken.

"This entire time he's been lying to you Mia. He doesn't love you."

Amelia's gaze flickered to her sister and saw the needle that was in her hand. Averting her eyes back to Slade, Amelia nodded. "You're right." She spoke and walked towards him.

Slade grinned and let go of Felicity. She stumbled past her sister and handed Amelia the needle, catching onto the plan. Amelia stood in front of Slade and placed her hand on his cheek. Slade smiled and leaned down. Their faces mere millimetres apart, Amelia raised her am and plunged the needle into his neck, injecting him with the cure.

"Did you honestly think I would believe you?" She whispered.

Felicity brought out a second syringe and plunged it into Andrew's neck rendering him unconscious. Amelia turned to Oliver who stood looking at his fiancé. Amelia grinned at him and laughed slightly causing Oliver to smile in both relief and happiness. She ran forward into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him.

"I love you." She told him.

"I love you to Mia. Let's go home." He replied.

"I am home. Wherever I am with you, that's home."
