[Three]

Amelia didn't know what to do with the letter. Did she inform Oliver of it, just as it demanded? Or did she keep quiet? She wasn't worried about her own safety, Tommy was her priority.

Who was this 'S' person? And what did they want Oliver to do? None of it made sense. She wasn't sure how long she had been pacing for, before Barry arrived home.

Somehow, amongst all her worry, Amelia managed to tidy the apartment. Well as best she could. The couch was still ruined obviously, but she had tidied what she could.

"Honey I'm home." Barry yelled jokingly as he entered the apartment. His eyes widened at the mess, or what was left of it. "What happened here?"

Amelia chewed her lip, debating what to say. In the end she decided to go with the most believable.

"There was a break in." She lied easily.

"What? How? When? Are you and Tommy okay?" He babbled, grabbing Amelia's hands and inspecting her up and down.

"There was a break in. I don't know, today and yes. Clearly." Amelia replied, counting the answers to each of his questions on her hand.

"I'll call Joe. He'll get someone down to have a look. Maybe I can get some forensic evidence." He spoke, his eyes still darting around the apartment.

"Barry. Look it's fine. Clearly, they were amatures. They didn't take anything valuable. Just leave it." Amelia sighed, waving off his concern.

"Mia."

"Barry."

"Fine." He growled.

"Good." Amelia smiled triumphantly.

Barry rolled his eyes and hugged Amelia. "Do you always get your own way?" Barry huffed as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

Amelia came beside him and snatched the cup out of his hands, taking a sip. Barry glared at her and took out another cup and poured himself yet another cup.

"Not always. But most of the time, yes." She grinned and kissed his cheek lightly.

She sat on the side counter in the kitchen, her hands wrapped around the warm mug. Barry stood by her legs, looking up at her.

"I have to go to Starling city tomorrow." He announced.

"Why?" Amelia whined and pouted.

Barry shot her a toothy grin and laughed. "I'm working a case."

"Ooh Detective Allen." Amelia cooed.

Barry rolled his eyes. "I'm not a detective Mia. I don't even carry a firearm."

"Either way you're my hero." Amelia announced dramatically, pretending to swoon. "So who does the case involve?"

Barry suddenly seemed extremely interested in his coffee as he took yet another gulp. Amelia's eyes narrowed in supicion, and she set her own coffee mug beside her. She put her hand under Barry's chin and lifted it lightly so he was eye level with her. Considering how tall he was, it was a rare occurrence for them to actually be eye level.

Barry's puppy dog eyes shone and he bit his lip in nervousness.

"Barry, who does the case involve?" She repeated, her voice calm.

"Oliver Queen." He mumbled.

"Aw Barry." Amelia sighed. "And you have to take it?"

"Captains orders." He replied, along with a very convincing sigh of his own.

"You're not going to tell him that we live together are you?" Amelia asked, panic creeping through.

Barry shook his head.

"And you're not going to tell him about Tommy?"

Once again, Barry shook his head.

"Good." Amelia spoke, relief filling her voice.

"But Mia, would it really be such a bad thing if he found out?" Barry asked, looking at her with uncertainty.

"Definitely." Amelia mumbled in response, pulling at her sweater.

"So, rumor has it the vigilante is still thriving." Barry said, attempting to chance topic.

"Good for him." Amelia grumbled.

" 'Cause you know, he was away for so long." Barry said, urging her to reply.

"Even vigilantes need a holiday." Amelia huffed, still pulling at her knitted sweater.

"But nobody has seen shadow for a while." Barry said innocently.

Amelia's head snapped up. "Barry, where are you going with this?" She snapped.

Barry smiled innocently. "Nowhere, nowhere."

"Be careful Barry. Don't go thinking that the vigilante can help you. Don't give yourself false hope." Amelia advised, as Barry stepped to the side to let her slide off the counter.

"What do you mean?" Barry asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

"Don't go thinking that this vigilante can get you dad out of Iron Heights."

"Mia, he's not guilty." Barry exclaimed, following her into the remains of the living room.

Amelia's tone softened and she smiled sadly at Barry. "I know he didn't Barry. I'm trying everything I can do to get him out."

It was true. The Nora Allen case was pretty much a closed one, but Amelia had connections and managed to get the file. She had spent the last year, reading through the file repeatedly, hoping that there was something that she had missed. Something the police missed.

So far she had come up with nothing, but she refused to give up.

"I know and that means the world to me. But, maybe, just maybe, say the vigilante could help me?" Barry spoke, his voice soft and his facial expression vulnerable.

"Barry, I don't think he will." Amelia replied.

Barry's eyes narrowed as he looked at Amelia. "You speak as if you know him."

"Me? Know the vigilante? That's crazy." Amelia laughed.

Barry pursed his lips. "Suppose so." He mumbled, not entirely convinced.

--

Barry left early the next morning. He was as hyper as a bunny rabbit on skittles. The grin couldn't be wiped off his face as he hopped around, gulping down his coffee, although he ended spilling more down his shirt than he actually drank.

That was Barry Allen for you.

Amelia didn't do much that day, she bought a much needed new couch and took Tommy to the park. Soon enough, it was evening and Barry still wasn't home.

Worried, she picked up the phone and dialed Barry's number.

"Mia?" Barry's voice came through the phone.

"Yes it's me. Where are you? You're the one who has been waiting a year for this stupid particle accelerator to be turned on. Now you're not even here to see it." Amelia growled down the phone.

"I'm sorry Mia." Barry apologised. "The train was late. Well actually I missed the train, so I had to get a later one which ended up being later than usual. So I would've been home earlier, but I wasn't because as I said, I missed the earlier train."

"Barry, you're babbling again." Amelia laughed.

"Sorry." He chuckled.

Amelia's eyebrows furrowed as she heard the noise coming down the line from Barry's location.

"Barry, where are you?"

"I'm in the lab. Will you come?" He asked.

"Do I have much choice?" Amelia laughed.

"No, not really. Are you bringing Tommy?"

"No. Iris is here, I'm sure she won't mind looking after him. I'll be there in five."

--

Amelia entered the lab to see Barry buzzing about. His face was a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

"Barry?" Amelia questioned, walking further into the lab.

"Mia." Barry exclaimed, his smile too large and his body language too on edge.

"Barry what did you do?" Amelia sighed.

"Why do you always think I've done something?" Barry whined, waving his hands dramatically.

"Because you always have." Amelia laughed.

Barry pouted, looking defeated. "I may have, kind have, completely by accident..." He trailed off.

"Barry." Amelia spoke, her tone agitated and nervous.

"Told Oliver Queen that you lived with me and he's coming to central city." He exclaimed, his words running into one another.

"Barry you didn't." Amelia yelled.

"I'm sorry." He apologised.

"Sorry isn't going to cut it Allen." She retorted.

"Well, I didn't tell him about Tommy." Barry said meekly.

"Oh wow thank you Barry. Because he's so not going to notice that a blonde haired child that looks exactly like him is constantly with me." Amelia shouted, pacing the room in anger.

"He was going to find out eventually." Barry spoke softly.

"Not the point Barry."

"He has a right to know." Barry announced.

"Oh has he now? In case you haven't noticed, Oliver Queen isn't exactly the best role model." Amelia growled.

"That doesn't change the fact that he's Tommy's father."

"I never said it did. But it wasn't up to you to tell him where I was." She shouted.

Before Barry could reply, loud noises sounded from outside the window and light flashed.

"Barry what's going on?" Amelia asked, her voice a lot softer.

"I don't know." Barry replied, and grabbed the chain to pull up the shutter.

They both looked out the window to see a flash of lightening heading straight for them. Words got caught in Amelia's throat. Words that were left unspoken as the lightening hit and pain surged through her body.

A/N

I hope you enjoyed. Sorry it's been so long since I updated. Also, I changed the initial on the letter sent to Amelia to 'S' instead of 'T' cause I thought of a good storyline :)
