[Fourteen]
Amelia walked into Jitters, her eyes scanning for Slade. It had been a couple of days since her day with Oliver and Amelia felt as if she was on cloud nine. Oliver was being so kind and both him and Amelia were really trying to be a family.
And it was working.
She smiled brightly as her eyes locked with Slade's. He smiled back and stood up as she neared the table.
"Mia, how are you?" He asked as he hugged her, a little longer that necessary.
"I'm great Slade, I really am." She grinned. "I'm going to get a coffee, you want the usual?" She asked and Slade nodded in response, a soft smile upon his face.
Amelia walked up to the counter to where Iris stood.
"Hey Iris, two black coffees please." She asked.
Iris nodded and set to making the coffees in silence. Amelia's eyebrows furrowed at Iris' behaviour.
"Iris, what's wrong?" She asked.
Iris sighed and set the two coffees 9n tbe counter. Slowly she looked up and met Amelia's gaze.
"It's Slade." She said softly.
"What about him?" Amelia asked, confused.
"There's something off about him." She told the red head.
"What makes you think that?"
"Well you mean apart from the fact that he's glaring at me right now for even talking to you?" Iris scoffed.
Amelia turned to face Slade and for a split second she saw a murderous glare upon his face before he smiled sweetly. Turning back to face Iris, Amelia pursed her lips waiting for Iris to continue to speak.
"Mia, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but that guy is in love with you. Actually no, it's more than that. He's obsessed with you." She told Amelia.
Amelia laughed and shook her head. "Iris, that's crazy, Slade and I are just friends. Besides, I love Oliver."
"I never said the feelings were requited Mia. I know that you love Oliver, but does Slade know that?" Iris spoke, arching a single eyebrow.
"Of course he does."
"Well, Mia just be careful. He may seem harmless to you but you don't see his expressions when you're not looking. There's this crazy look that he gets, almost like he's ready to stand up and tell you that if he can't have you, no one can. He glares at any guy who even looks at you. And the other day when you were telling him about Oliver, the guy nearly smashed the goddamn cup he had. Mia, he's completely obsessed with you."
"Iris don't be stupid. Look, you are one of my closest friends, but Slade has only friendly feelings for me."
"Well that hug when you came in definitely didn't seem that way." Iris commented.
"Iris." Amelia scolded.
"Okay, okay. I'm just saying, please be careful." Iris said.
Amelia's expression softened. "I always am."
"No you're not." Iris retorted as Amelia paid for the coffees.
Laughing, Amelia took the coffees and walked back to Slade. He smiled at her, but looked tense.
"What was Iris saying to you?" He asked.
"Oh we were just talking about Barry." Amelia lied.
She didn't know why she felt compelled to lie, she just didn't think it was a good idea to tell him the truth. Slade seemed to have caught onto her lie and quick as a python attacking its prey, his hand gripped Amelia's wrist.
"Mia don't lie to me." He hissed.
Amelia looked round to see if anyone was watching, but everyone seemed too caught up in their own lives. Iris had gone on break and so no one was there to witness what was happening.
"Slade, it was nothing." Amelia said, her voice pleading.
Now, Amelia was pretty strong and rather quick. But Slade's grip was firmer than iron and she stared at his hand which was squeezing her wrist.
"Amelia." He growled and tightened his grip.
Amelia gasped in pain as she felt the bones in her wrist crack. If he didn't let go soon, Amelia was pretty sure he would break it. She took a deep breath, refusing to panic anymore. She opened her eyes and stared at Slade.
"Let go of my wrist right now Slade or I swear to god I will have you arrested for assault." She snarled.
Slade hesitated, as if weighing up his options. Finally, he let go and sank back into his seat.
"Of course. I apologise." He said, and Amelia was almost convinced that it was sincere.
Almost.
Clearing her throat, she stood up ignoring the shooting pains in her arm.
"I think we're done here. Goodbye Slade." She said and turned to leave.
As she walked towards the exit she heard Slade's voice once more.
"So you're playing happy family's with Oliver again I see." He hollered.
Amelia froze and whirled round, narrowing her eyes at Slade.
"What's it to you?" She snarled.
Slade shrugged and smiled as if he was part of an inside joke.
"Oh nothing. Nothing at all." He mused.

Amelia flicked through the channels on tv, not really paying attention to the programmes. Tommy was in his room playing, slightly tired after his day with Oliver.
Hearing a knock at the door, Amelia jumped up to answer it, assuming it was Oliver. She opened the door and before she could even react, she was slammed against the wall by a masked figure.
His strength was immense, and Amelia felt the wind being knocked out of her from the impact.
"You should've listened to him. Look what's happening now." The person sighed. Amelia was sure it was a male because of his build and his voice.
"Who the hell are you talking about?" She wheezed.
However, the man was in no mood for talk and threw Amelia to the ground. Her instincts kicked in as she stood up and charged at the masked figure. He produced a weapon that had been strapped to his back and Amelia had nothing but a kitchen knife that she ahd snatched.
She threw herself at him, deflecting his swipes. He was strong, but untrained and had no control. Amelia managed to get a few hits in with the kitchen knife, before she pried his sword away from him.
Sword now in hand, Amelia pinned the masked figure to the wall, the sword tight against his throat, drawing a single drop of blood.
"Who sent you?" She snarled.
The masked figure laughed. "My leader." He said simply.
"Who is your leader?" She demanded.
"The best part is, you already know."
"What do you mean?" She said.
The masked figure remained silent and Amelia knew that she wouldn't recieve any answers. Fury built up within her and in a split second of hesitation, the masked figure pushed her to the side and began to walk away.
To Tommy's bedroom.
Amelia ran towards him and pulled him to the ground. She climbed on top of him and without hesitation, plunged the sword into his chest. She did the two, three, four times. Blood covered her hands and shirt as she rolled off the now dead body.
"Mama?" A small voice called.
Amelia turned round and saw Tommy staring at her wide eyed.
"Oh baby." She gasped.
Tommy stood at the doorway, looking at his mother with uncertainty. Finally he spoke.
"Bad man." He said.
"Yes baby he was a bad man. And mummy's so sorry you saw that." She said softly and picked him up, neither of them bothered by the blood.
Amelia put Tommy to bed and got cleaned before getting rid of the body. Then, sitting on the counter she dialed Oliver's number.
"Hello?" Oliver's voice came through the phone.
"Oliver. I need you to get over here now."

I really like how that chapter turned out. The part with Tommy and Amelia at the end was inspired by Hayley and Hope from the Originals :)
