[Five]

Amelia stared at Iris, unable to string enough words together to form a sentence.

"Oliver's here." She managed to choke out.

Iris nodded. Amelia didn't know what to do. She couldn't deal with Oliver right now. She was in no mood for arguing or even talking, all she wanted to do was see Barry.

"Does he know about Tommy?" Amelia asked, panic running through her.

Amelia knew that now that Oliver was in central city, there was no way from preventing him finding out that he has a year old son. But Amelia wanted time to gather her thoughts, to piece together what she was actually going to say. She couldn't just shove Tommy in Oliver's arms and say, "Here's your son."

No. That wouldn't work out well for anybody. Especially Tommy. Amelia's biggest fear wasn't what would happen if Oliver found out and decided what would happen if he wanted to be part of Tommy's life. No, her biggest fear was what would happen if he found out and decided that he didn't want to be a part of Tommy's life.

How was Amelia supposed to tell her son that his father knew about him, but just simply didn't care. She couldn't deal with that and she knew that Tommy wouldn't be able to either. It would be a lot easier when Tommy grew up and asked about his father that Amelia could tell him that Oliver didn't know.

Yes, Tommy would be mad at his mother, furious in fact. But a whole lot more pain would be caused if Amelia told him that his father didn't want to get to know him. That he didn't want to spend time with him.

"No." Iris' voice was soft when she spoke. "He doesn't. Tommy was with Eddie when he came to visit me."

Amelia sighed in relief at her friends words. Oliver didn't know, and hopefully he never would. Amelia then realised the situation at hand, and panic sirged through her. Iris must have noticed this for she stepped forward and placed a hand on Amelia's arm.

"You don't want to see him, do you?" She asked, even though she already knee the answer.

"No." Amelia spoke, her voice breaking. "I don't want to see Oliver."

"Ol-i-ver." Tommy giggled, pronouncing each syllable.

Amelia's head snapped towards her son, a shocked expression on her face. "What did you just say?" She gasped.

"Ol-i-ver." He repeated, laughing again.

Amelia turned to Iris, whose expression mirrored hers.

"We've got to get you both out of here now." Iris announced and Amelia nodded in agreement.

"Ol-i-ver." Tommy gurgled, fascinated by the new word.

--

Iris had somehow miraculously managed to get Amelia and Tommy out of the hospital without running into Oliver. Apparently, she had a friend who had a friend who had a few sets of keys.

Either way they were finally out in the open and heading to Star labs. Personally, Amelia never liked Star labs, and what had happened to Barry and her just added to that. No doubt they weren't helping Barry out of the goodness of their hearts. No, they were probably just fascinated by the fact that Barry had been hit by lightening. In fact they would probably deny that the particle accelerators failure had nothing to do with it, but Amelia knew better.

They now stood at the entrance of Star labs. Iris was confused at how exactly Amelia would get past all the guards, but that would be all too easy for her.

"Mia, do you want me to take Tommy?" Iris asked.

"No." Amelia answered all too quickly. She didn't want to be parted with Tommy. Especially not when Oliver was on the prowl.

Iris smiled softly. "I understand. Good luck Mia."

"Thanks." Amelia muttered in response. "I think I might need it."

Iris grabbed Amelia's hand and gave it a quick squeeze before leaving. Amelia took a deep breath and looked down at Tommy.

"Ba ba." He shouted, throwing his little fist in the air.

"Yeah Tommy. Let's go see Barry."

She ventured into the massive building, Tommy situated on her hip. She easily made it to her desired destination. She pushed open the door to the lab and her eyes landed on the people in the room.

There was a young women with red rims around her eyes, suggesting that she had been crying. Beside her was a tanned boy with shoulder length raven hair. And sitting in the corner of the room in a wheelchair was a middle aged man with dark hair. His eyes held no emotion and he looked utterly broken.

Amelia felt slightly sorry for these people, clearly they had all lost something, or someone. But because of them, she may very well lose someone. Because of them, she may lose the person closest to her, one of the people that she loved the most. She might lose her best friend because of them. Tommy could've lost his mother because of them, and Amelia honestly didn't think that she could ever forgive them for that.

No one looked up upon Amelia's arrival, so she waited in silence. Tommy clearly didn't agree with this decision so he decided to take matters into his own little hands.

"Ba ba!" He shouted at the top of his voice.

He pointed to a back room and through a glass window, Amelia saw Barry lying on a hospital bed and he was hooked up to several machines. He had an oxygen mask covering his face and cuts and bruises decorated his arms and chest.

"Barry." The word fell from her mouth as a longing whisper, lost amongst the noise of everyday life.

Every head in the room swung towards the young red head who had the blonde haired child in her arms. They're eyes widened as they realised that she was the other survivor of the accident.

"I'm Dr Harrison Wells." The dark haired man in the wheelchair spoke as he made his way towards her.

"Good for you. Personally, I don't give a damn. I'm here to see Barry." Amelia growled, storming past the three into the room where Barry lay.

She didn't look to see if anyone had followed her because she simply didn't care. But Dr Wells, Caitlin and Cisco did infact watch the young mother. They watched as she stood beside the young man in the bed and brushed her fingers along his cheek. Her eyes were filled with love and worry, and Caitlin felt so awful she was sure that she would throw up.

"Oh Barry." Amelia whispered. "When I said you were my hero, you didn't need to take a hit of lightening for me to prove it." She laughed but tears stinged her eyes.

She loved him way too much to lose him. Tommy wriggled in Amelia's arms, trying to get to Barry. Amelia set him down on the side of the bed, making sure that he wasn't touching any of the many wires that were attached to Barry.

Tommy crawled towards Barry, tapping his chest lightly. "Ba ba." He whimpered. "Ba ba got boo boo."

"Yeah Tommy. Barry is hurt." Amelia whispered to her blonde haired baby. "He's really hurt."

"Miss Smoak." A deep male voice came from behind her.

Amelia closed her eyes momentarily and took a deep breath. She was determined to remain calm, for the sake of Tommy. She turned slowly to face the man in the wheelchair, her eyes blazing in anger.

"Dr Wells." She spat in response.

"Call me Harrison."

"I have several other name preferences for you, thank you very much." Amelia said sharply.

Dr Wells swallowed and silence enveloped the room.

"Miss Smoak, I understand -"

Amelia cut him off, seething. "You don't really understand anything right now. So please don't try to say that you understand what I'm going through right now, because believe me, you have no idea."

"We've all lost something because of that night." Dr Wells said softly.

"Yeah well that doesn't deprive me of my right to be angry. Neither Barry nor I had anything to do with building this particular accelerator, so why should be suffer the repercussions?"

"Miss Smoak -"

Once again Amelia cut him off. "I'm getting really tired of hearing you talk. I just came here to see Barry, and now I'm taking him back to the hospital."

"I assure you that Barry is best situated here. We have equipment beyond what others can offer." Dr Wells informed her.

"Well I apologise if I don't exactly have faith in your equipment at this very moment." Amelia hissed.

"I promise you, Barry's safe here." A small voice squeaked.

Amelia glanced up at the door to see the red head enter. She looked nervous as she spoke, but her eyes held deep sorrow. There was something that clicked inside Amelia's mind.

"You're Ronnie's fiancé." Amelia gasped.

Amelia had first met Ronnie a couple of weeks after Oliver had disappeared. Felicity had dragged her to Central City for a shopping day, despite Amelia's best attempts to wriggle out of it. She had bumped into him in a coffee shop, quite literally.

Amelia had walked straight into him, the impact resulting in Ronnie spilling his coffee all over him. Amelia turned into a stuttering mess after that, attempting to grab handfuls of napkins to hand the tanned boy who had been laughing uncontrollably at her actions.

They had become pretty good friends after that, but they didn't get to see each other often. Amelia remembered the day when Ronnie rang her, telling her that he had proposed to his girlfriend. He had arranged countless times for the two to meet, but it never seemed to work out.

But now, as she stared at the trembling girl, Amelia knew that there was no mistaking it. This was Caitlin. With her long hair in loose girls and her once bright eyes that were now lightless. Amelia had completely forgotten that Ronnie had worked at Star Labs. Between him and Barry, she never heard the end of this magnificent Particle Accelerator.

"Yeah." Caitlin said softly. "I was."

"W-what do you mean was?" Amelia questioned, stuttering ever so slightly.

"You must be Mia." She continued as if Amelia hadn't spoken. "He talked about you all the time."

"You didn't answer my question."

Caitlin looked at Amelia, taking in the red heads anxious expression. "He's gone."

"What do you mean he's gone?" Amelia demanded.

"He went in to try and shut it down, b-but it was too late."

Amelia clenched her jaw and blinked back tears. Her bottom lip began to quiver and Amelia felt something tugging at her shirt. She looked down to see Tommy sitting on the bed, pulling at the bottom of her shirt.

"Mama 'kay?" Tommy asked, looking up at his mother with his large emerald eyes.

Amelia smiled down at the blonde haired child and scooped him into her arms. "I'm fine baby." She cooed.

Looking up, Amelia locked eyes with Caitlin, purposely avoiding Harrison's piercing gaze. "You promise he'll be safe here?"

"Yes, he will." Harrison interrupted.

Amelia whirled round and glared at him sharply. "I asked Caitlin because she's the only one I trust in this place. And you are not Caitlin." She hissed.

Turning back to Caitlin, she watched as she nodded slowly. "He will be." She answered. "I promise."
