it's D-day

-

Taehyung had woken up. This time to his sister's call instead of his mother. He got off his bed and opened the door to see his sister standing there. Her head held low as she outstretched her arms to hand something over. Taehyung took it from the other. he looked at Jisoo with a questioning eyes, as if asking what it was.

"It is the wedding suit. Mom told to get ready and come down in an hour." He nodded his head as he looked at it and then back at Jisoo. He held her head up and asked her what was wrong. She was on the verge of tears when she spoke again. She hugged Taehyung tight like her world depended on it as she sobbed out. Taehyung ushered her inside the room as he locked it.

He moved them to the bed as he placed Jisoo beside him. The girl continued to sob for a while more. "What happened baby?" he asked her. His voice soothing as always. "I am sorry this is happening to you." She said as her tears continued to flow out. Taehyung wiped them away as he shook his head. He held her face in his hand as she looked at him.

"It is not your fault. I got myself into this." He said. He had always loved his sister. Always being protective over her like every other elder brother. He had always been there to protect her from every harm possible. Once, in middle school when Jisoo was getting bullied, he walked into the school like he owned.

And everyone recognized him at a single glance. He was in university then but the school never forgot him. He had caused such a ravoc in the school with Jungkook and Jimin that they still remembered him. He had claimed Jisoo to be his sister and that if any harm were to come her way, they would end up in hell. Of course it worked. The entire grade then treated Jisoo like a queen.

"I can help you get away from this. Just tell me you don't want this to my face. I'll call your friends and you can run away with them!" Jisoo said. Her voice sounding more like a plead than anything else. "What about Jungkook?" she further asked. She knew she was crossing the line this time because her brother was yet to realise his feelings, but it was worth the shot.

And she knew it when her brother ceased movements at the question. He cleared his throat as he composed himself again before he looked out the window. He cleared his mind and the thoughts about his best friend before he turned to face Jisoo again. He cupped her face in his hands as he wiped the remaining tears as well.

"they wouldn't be here baby. We fought and they told they wouldn't come for the wedding." He said with a weak smile on her face. He said so while he purposely avoided her other question. What could he say to that anyway? He couldn't say anything. Cause he didn't know what to say to that. Not yet at least. But he would soon. He should.

Jisoo understood this. Her brother had yet not realised his feelings for his own best friend. She left the room, hoping that her brother would see it soon. Would see that he had been in love for so long. For so long that their love never dissipated but only grew. Was Jungkook also blind to see this? Jisoo questioned herself as she went into her own room.

Taehyung sat on the bed. Thinking through what Jisoo had asked. 'what about Jungkook?' the question ringing in his mind. The thought brought him to pick his phone up and go to his gallery. He surfed through all the pictures he had with Jungkook. Going through one by one as lonely tears left his eyes. He didn't know what he was crying for.

But he couldn't stop them. He couldn't stop the tears when he saw Jungkook's bunny smile. The crazy crackhead he gave for one of their picture cracking Taehyung up even now. the mole under his lip that he wanted to do things to. The doe eyes that always made him weak. His toned body and muscular biceps. Everything. Everything about the PE teacher was perfect to Taehyung.

He wanted to do it. runaway with them. Runaway from everything and with Jungkook. He would even be the trophy wife if needed. But another tear left his eyes as he came into the realization too late. The realization that he had been in love was ten years late. Jungkook was the reason for his gay awakening while Taehyung was Jungkook's. they were just too afraid to accept it then.

They were still afraid to accept it now. Taehyung's thoughts were going wild now. making up situations and scenarios with the others. Going on imaginary cute dates and making memories together. But he snapped out of it when he heard his mother's voice call out to him. "Half an hour to go Taehyung." She told from the other side.

"Nothing about Jungkook." He told himself as he got himself ready for the wedding and reached the church where the wedding was planned. He was ushered into the groom's room for his make-up to be done. A lady, clad in good pieces of jewelry and ample amount of make up waltzed in with a kit. Presumably the make up kit because she immediately began to work on Taehyung's face.

He had sat there patiently for another half an hour as the lady did her thing. Putting eye liner, concealer and eye shadow. Blending them all in to give a perfect yet natural shade to his face. He bowed to the lady, thanking her for her work as she left the room. He slumped back on the seat again as he re-read the message his friends had sent him. A sense of being left alone flooding into him.

Taehyung had been eagerly waiting for one of his friends to show up. He would be happy if one particular bunny face showed up, but he didn't want his effort to go in vain. After all, they had stated that they wouldn't come no matter what. He had gone against all their wishes because of this wedding. Losing all his friends in one go. He wasn't happy about it, but he couldn't do anything about it now.

His ears perked up as the door to his room opened. But he immediately turned away when he saw that it was only his sister. His sister took him into her own arms in an act of comforting him. "It is okay. They will come for sure." She said as she watched her brother shed tears because of them.

She knew what lay beneath all those emotions, but she didn't want to be the one voicing them out. She wanted her brother to realize on his own. No matter how long it took. Because she knew that the kind of love that is self-realized is the only one that lasts in the selfish world. She wiped out the tears from Taehyung's face as she retouched his light makeup.

"Don't ruin your make-up oppa." She said as she dabbed the concealer wherever necessary. That was when their dad stepped into their room. "It is time." is the only thing he said before he made his way back to the entrance of the alter. Jisoo nodded her head as she watched Taehyung's head droop further down. She placed a reassuring hand on him as she held him up.

Taehyung dreaded the very moment because he didn't even have his own grooms men. He wanted it to be Jimin, Yoongi and Jungkook. But he couldn't ask them as they had already declined the invite. Only later had he come to know that they weren't invited at all. It was too late to fight his parents into agreeing then. He was left to accept his fate like always.

He looked ahead at the alter in hopes of seeing the familiar faces. Even though they had told that they wouldn't be there, one could always hope. He swore that if they showed up right at that instant, he would drop everything behind and go with them. By everything, he meant everything. Even his family. he couldn't bare to be suffocated anymore like this.

But that didn't happen. His friends weren't here as well. They really were sticking to their words. They weren't going to show up. Not even his best friend since twenty years. The boy hadn't even come for the sake of their friendship. But Taehyung now knew that it was everything but friendship in between them. He was too late to realise the bond though. He could only wish that Jungkook would realise as well and come like a prince charming to his rescue.

Taehyung chuckled at his own thought and sighed. Prince charming? Really? He asked himself before looking at his father. The teacher made his way beside his father and walked down the alter together. His father, placing his hand into Baekhyun's stepped down as well. The priest had come and the vows were being told. Taehyung being distracted all throughout. His eyes being attracted to the entrance all the time. but he couldn't say anything out. He couldn't voice out his strain in emotions again.

The priest was saying their last vows. He turned to face Baekhyun as the said male had squeezed his hand to get his soon-to-be husband's attention. And now that he had it, he nodded towards the priest who recited the final vows.

"Do you Kim Baekhyun take Kim Taehyung to be your lawful husband?"

"I do."

And Taehyung's heartbeat began to grow. He was growing desperate for a release now.

"Do you, Kim Taehyung, take Kim Baekhyun as your lawful husband?"

"I-" but Taehyung's promise to the vow was interrupted.
