Parasite
Depending upon the life of another
Organisms intertwined
One a host another a guest
Yet the guest takes it all away
You can see them as enemies
The lives intertwined
In a dance of giving and taking away
Yet life goes on for one or neither
In the end one may die
If the host perishes the guest lives on
And finds another life to share
And yet the host could need the guest
Life isn't always black and white
It isn't always hosts and guests
Sometimes the guest
is the host in the end
They find themselves
one and the same
Two lives together
Or one life in two
In a way I am my own parasite
I feed on my own failures and success
Yet in the end I am one and the same
And both of my minds benefit
Sometimes we are our own
Worst enemies
Taking from ourselves
What we rightfully need
The world isn't always
black and white
We can be our own host
And our own parasite
Hiding away
in our withering minds
The battle is waged
as we play both sides
Is it by a past
of invalidation
That makes us become
Our own worst creation
Or are we both
the master
And the slave
Of our own internal struggle
As of you
I have yet to know
But as of me I am
One and the same
