(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You know, that was kinda hot you standing up to those assholes." (y/n) whispers almost embarrassed, flushing pink as Billy kissed the back of her neck with a smile.
"Really now? I thought it was cute you telling them off." he snickers and her cheeks really turn a brighter pink as the two walked to the hair salon, Billy's hand never moving from (y/n)'s waist after that whole fiasco.
"Can't believe you heard that..."
"Proves those shits are just so far up their asses they can't tell the difference between no and no." (y/n) snorts lightly, covering her mouth and smiling at Billy.
They arrived at the salon, (y/n) sitting down to get her hair cut while Billy stood outside to smoke. (y/n) wanted her hair a bit short to have it easier to maintain, swearing off at the hairdresser to not perm it or do anything to it. It was a quick half an hour to (y/n) but a long one to Billy as she waited outside in bored, soon walking back into the salon to see (y/n) done with her haircut as she stood up from her chair.
She had her curtain bangs retrimmed and her hair layered up till her shoulders, looking like a dream in her off-shoulder summer dress. "How do I look?" (y/n) asks Billy who breaks from his trance, smiling at her.
"Absolutely gorgeous." he takes in her blush, grabbing her hand in his to pay for the haircut before leaving.
"Billy," he hums, looking down at (y/n). "thank you. For today and for yesterday I mean." she whispers and Billy kisses her forehead.
"Anything for you princess. How about we get some ice cream. There's a really good store by the beach."
"Ok!" Billy chuckles at (y/n)'s enthusiastic response. "Let's drop our stuff home first then get that ice cream!" she drags him to the car and they both get in, quickly driving back him to drop the bags in the living room before walking out of the house after locking it and going down to the docks by the beach. "Oh! I saw this little store yesterday." Billy takes (y/n) to the ice cream store that had a small line by it after. "It's near your work."
"It is. If you're up for it, the day after tomorrow, I can show you all the restaurants and niche stores around here."
"Really!?" (y/n) really was excited to see everything California had to offer, to try all their foods and look at all their stores. "Yes! I would love that!"
"Perfect." Billy grins happily. "It's a date." he smirks as (y/n)'s cheeks heat up but she smiles at him, nodding.
"I can't wait for our date then." she whispers happily, the two of them reaching inside to look at all the ice creams. They both got their favourite flavours and toppings in a cup, walking out to eat it before walking onto the beach. (y/n) chucked her finished cup in the bin, quickly taking off her sandals before running onto the sand. She sighs in bliss at the heat, digging into the sand and being down to feel it.
It felt like it had been way too long since the last time she had been to a beach.
Billy watched in amusement as (y/n) waddled across the burning hot sand, hopping and hissing 'hot' over and over while dodging sea shells to reach the water. "Cute." he whispers as he watched her lift her dress up to her knees, letting the water wash over her feet as she stared out into the open.
(y/n) felt so peaceful, nothing holding her back. She may be young and she was supposed to go to college but now that she was declared dead, she didn't need to do any of those and actually just live life as she wants to.
She holds her dress tight high up to make sure it doesn't get wet as she leaned over to pick up a shell in the cold water, washing the sand off. It was an ordinary shell but it looked so perfect at the moment. Everything felt perfect at the moment.
"Billy-!" (y/n) yelps when she was suddenly picked up from behind, spun around and she squeals out. "Billy!" she gasps out when he sets her down, beaming down at her as she smacked his chest. "Don't do that! You scared me!" she couldn't help the smile forming on her face as he kissed her nose, the couple unaware of the people around her awing at the cute scene.
"I can't help that you're so cute." Billy pinches (y/n)'s cheek and she whines in slight pain, stepping back to splash some water at him. He gasps, looking at her with mischief in his eyes. "Oh, now you've done it princess." he splashes her back and (y/n) gasps at the water hitting her, splashing Billy back hard with the water before running off and he chases after her. It may have looked childish for the couple but to them, they felt their suppressed childhood selves finally being at peace.
"I'm sorry!" (y/n) shrieks out, dodging Billy's arms but he manages to catch up to her and he grabs her, throwing her over his shoulder. She laughs as she grips his shirt, wriggling to get away as he walks further into the water. "Billy I'm sorry! Don't drop me!" Billy jumps and he earns another shriek from (y/n) as she struggled to hold her glasses up. "Billy please!" she whines out and he smiles, walking back onto the beach.
"Now you know not to start something you can't finish princess." Billy smirks at (y/n) as she sets her back down on the beach, her heart racing like crazy in her chest.
"Ok, ok. I know when to not mess with the surf god." she raises her arms in defense, the two laughing until they heard little voices yelling out Billy's name.
"Billy! Billy!" he and (y/n) look over to see a bunch of little kids run over to him with their parents, all diving to hug him and he remembers he had a surfing class today since he cancelled yesterday.
"Oh, shi-sugar. I forgot I had a class today." (y/n) chuckles as Billy tries to not swear around the kids who all bombarded him with questions.
"Mr Billy, who's this?" a little girl asks and she clearly was the youngest child here, Billy picking up the toothy grinned girl as she waves (y/n) who waved back.
"This here Ames, is my girlfriend (y/n)." The boys all whine out about cooties while the girls were running over to (y/n) to talk to her.
"Hey there." (y/n) bends down to talk to the girls, Billy setting Amy down as she wriggled from his grasp to talk to his girlfriend. He watched (y/n) talk to the children, her motherly intuition shining through with the kids just like she had back with the punks in Hawkins. His heart melted seeing her being so sweet to the kids and smiling at them and he wondered if this is what it would be like with his and her kids.
"Hope we're not interrupting you Billy." One of the parents talk to him and (y/n) entertains all the children, both boys and girls asking her questions. "Not at all. We can have the class today as scheduled." (y/n) watched as the kids all ran away when Billy called for them, taking his shirt off to leave on his jeans.
"Here, I'll hold it." (y/n) takes the shirt from Billy and he smiles at her, her going to sit down on a bench to watch Billy teach the kids. And what a sweet sight it was. He was beaming, happily teaching them how to pop up from their board and to steady themself. (y/n) was definitely in awe and in a trance, seeing the water trickle down Billy's chest as he helped each kid ride a mini-wave as he held their boards. Gods she was wrapped around his finger.
Billy looked over once in a while to see (y/n) already staring at him with a sweet smile, waving to him and he winks at her which causes the parents to awe at the cute couple. When there was a break every now and then, the kids would run up to (y/n) and beg her to play with them. She made sandcastles with them and chased the kids around, tying up some of the girl's hairs that come loose or just talking to the kids. They were sweet energetic little bundles of joys but they really were sucking her ability to stay awake.
"Ok and that's the class for today! Now, remember what I told you, always have the strap on and never stray too far into the water without your parents!"
"Yes Mr Billy sir!" the kids reply back, saluting him and (y/n) bursts out laughing at his mini army of kids before they run off to their parents who take them back to their cars.
"I can't believe-they saluted you!" (y/n) wipes away her tears as Billy rolls his eyes, grabbing his shirt to put it on.
"Kids are little shits that ruin everything but toddlers like those who have a neverending supply of energy, oh yeah they can wreak havoc wherever and however they like." Billy states and (y/n) stands up as she calms down from her laughing. "So yes, they are my little army and they will do anything I say." Billy smirks in achievement as the couple walks back to his car.
"They really do." (y/n) points out as he drives them both home.
