"We have to do something, we can't just let those people die in the labs!" (y/n) exclaims as she followed the boys out of the forest.

"By the time we get there, it's too late and it's suicide for us!" Steve sighs out and (y/n) just stays quiet, knowing he had a point.

"But what if someone is still alive-"

"-no buts. I'm taking you and the girl home." Steve walks off, not wanting to argue anymore. (y/n) frowns and just stays quiet, walking behind the kids when she hears someone else calling out.

"Who's there!?"

Is that Jonathan?

(y/n) walks out into the open, gasping in relief to see Nancy and Jonathan safe in front of her. "Oh my fucking god! You two are ok!" she runs down the hill and hugs Nancy, the girls holding each other tight.

"(y/n) what are you doing here with the kids and Steve?" Nancy asks, worried about what was going on when she noticed the rifle strapped to her friend's back.

"We fought off the hoard of Demogorgons." Nancy's eyes widen at (y/n) reply, looking at Jonathan who was surprised as well. "Yeah, I know everything courtesy of Dustin and Steve."

"For the record, I didn't want to drag her into this." Steve mutters out.

"What are you two doing here?" (y/n) asks Nancy and Jonathan.

"Looking for Mike and Will." Everyone jumps as they hear loud screeching and roaring from the labs next to them, slowly turning to the building.

"They're not in there, are they?" Dustin asks.

"We're not sure..." Nancy and Jonathan mutter back. Everyone tries to remember where they last saw Mike and Will, mentioning Joyce, Will's mum and Hopper who was the cop. (y/n) looks up at the lab, seeing all the lights suddenly turn back on.

"Guys! The powers back on! There's people still in there!" Everyone runs back to the security booth, Jonathan pressing the button to open the gate to let them through but it doesn't budge. "Just give it a sec!" (y/n) calls back and everyone waits, the gates finally opening. "Go!" She urges Jonathan and Nancy to get into the car and they drive off to rescue whoever was at the lab. Everyone else waited anxiously by the gates until they hear the cars speeding back down.

"Let's go!" the man in the cop car, who (y/n) figured was Hopper calls out to the kids and she quickly runs back into the security booth to slam down on the close button for the gates, running back to the car and jumping in. "Who the hell are you!?" Hopper calls out as she speeds down the road.

"I'm (y/n), nice to meet you. I'm friends with the Three Musketeers and Dustin told me everything about the Upside Down and the demons. That enough for you?" She gasps out and Hopper just blinks at her. " Great, now our cars are nearby the road and we got extra guns in there. I would think that would be useful for you if we get them." Hopper nods in agreement.

"I like this one." Hopper mutters to Steve who chuckles lightly.

"The three musketeers?" the kids ask in confusion.

"That Steve, Nancy and Jonathan. My name for them." (y/n) shrugs, looking through the window to make sure none of the demons was following them. 

What have I gotten myself into?

(y/n) sighs out as she gets out of her car, parking it in front of the Byers house and walking into their home to see a bunch of drawn vines on paper covering the walls. "I'm not going to question it..." she mumbles out, dropping all the weapons she had in her car and everyone looks at her in shock from the number of guns she had asked Steve to buy. Jonatha was caring for his brother Will on the couch and Hopper was yelling at someone on the phone. (y/n) walked up to the kids sitting at the table together, her arms crossed as she looked directly at Mike who gulped. "Now that everyone is here. Bring me up to speed. Quick." Mike spews out the whole story of Will being controlled by this virus and all the vines that we was connected to and shit until Hopper stood next to (y/n).

"And again, who are you?" he asks, glaring down at the girl.

"Ok, I'm (y/f/n) and I moved here to Hawkins at the beginning of October. I'm in the same grade as Steve and only last night did I come to find out there fucking demons roaming around here! Like real demons! Carnivore and murderous shits that I never want to see outside my nightmares ok! Steve and Dustin explained everything to me cause the kid kept a baby demon dog as a pet and now regrets it after it ate his cat!"

"Hey!" Dustin exclaims when he got called out.

"Hey, it's ok... just breathe..." Steve quickly gets up noticing (y/n) hyperventilating, her struggling to breathe from all the pressure and stress that just got dumped on her.

"I-Steve-" she falls to the floor, trying to catch her breath and he catches her. Everything just hit her all at once and her mind was reeling non-stop.

"She's having a panic attack! Move!" Hopper shoves Steve away to give (y/n) some space, ordering one of the kids to get water. "Hey, just keep your eyes on me kid. Don't look at anything else." (y/n) gasped, crying as she held her chest, her lungs burning. "Try and follow my breathing ok." Hopper takes in a deep breath and (y/n) tries to copy him, letting out a long breath. "That's it, just keep going." Hopper instantly went into dad mode, rubbing (y/n)'s back as she looked at him with teary eyes before leaning her head down on the floor in a crouched position. "Just breathe..."

"(y/n)..." Max whispers, frowning to see the one person that was protecting her break down, kneeling next to her with a glass of water.

"Thanks Max..." (y/n) breathes out deeply, rubbing her chest as she takes the glass and downs the water.

"You kids just sit here and wait until help gets here." Hopper says before walking away.

Steve frowns as he watches over (y/n) who slept on the couch, huddled up in a ball and he walks over with a blanket to drape it over her. "She must've been really tired..." Nancy sighs out and Steve nods.

"She just got dragged into the in less than 24 hours..." Nancy looks at Steve who carefully brushes (y/n) hair away with such care, shocked at how gentle he was with her.

"You like her..." he freezes, quickly taking his hand back.

"I-" he bows his head, nodding. "I'm sorry. I know we didn't officially break up but..."

"I get it... feelings change..." Nancy nods. "So... maybe tell her how you feel before anything else happens."

"I kind of... already did..."

"And what did she say?"

"She said why..." Steve frowns, wondering what that could mean. Was it a rejection?

"His army!" Mike suddenly exclaims, everyone jumping in surprise like he had the most brilliant plan ever. He even managed to snap (y/n) from her sleep, her rubbing her eyes tiredly before she put her glasses on.

"What is your brother on about now Nancy?" (y/n) yawns out and she shrugs.

"Maybe if we stop him,we can stop his army, too!" Mike explains and Steve and (y/n) walk over to the kids to see what they're talking about. They all looked confused though and Mike runs off to Will's bedroom with everyone following him. He then shows them a drawing of some sort of shadow creature.

"The shadow monster-"

"-it got Will that day on the field." Mike explains. "The doctor said it was like a virus,it infected him!"

"And so this virus,it's connecting him to the tunnels?" Max says.

"To the tunnels, monsters,the Upside Down, everything!"

"That shadow monster is the main brain and if it's connecting Will and the Vines and the monster, then they all can feel pain at the same time, including Will." (y/n) mutters out, somewhat understanding Mike.

"Exactly!"

"Then it's a Hive Mind. You cut off the brain from its hosts and the hosts are free."

"Yes!" Mike gasps out that (y/n) at least got it.

"Like the Mind Flayer!" Dustin concludes and Lucas snaps his fingers when everyone came to a conclusion. Dustin runs off and everyone follows Mike into the kitchen, him also getting Hopper as Dustin puts down a Dungeons and Dragons book on the table.

"What the hell is the Mind layer?" Hopper asks and Dustin explains what this creature is. "Oh, my God, none of this is real.This is a kids' game."

"No, it's a manual. And it's not for kids." Dustin snaps at Hopper and (y/n) was surprised at the guts of this kid. "And unless you know somethingthat we don't, this is the best metaphor-"

"-analogy." Lucas corrects Dustin and he looks at him with the most offended look ever. Before he could argue with Lucas, (y/n) snaps her fingers in front of Dustin.

"Enough with the fighting and explain." She hisses and Dustin gulps, the others either amused or also slightly fearing the angry girl. 

"What does the Mind Flayer want?" Nancy asks.

"Like any other Hive Mind, it wants to conquer other races cause it thinks it's superior." (y/n) says and Dustin nods slowly.

"How'd you know that?"

"That's what Hive Minds do duh."

"Ok...? Anyway, it views other races, like us,as inferior to itself."

"It wants to spread,take over other dimensions."

"We are talking about the destructionof our world as we know it." Lucas and Mike both chime in.

"That's great. That's great.That's really great. Jesus!" Steve mutters out, contemplating his life right now while the others discuss how it would be a theoretical win to cut the brain off from controlling everything and eventually killing its hosts.

"So how do we kill the shadow monster?" (y/n) asks and the boy suddenly start arguing with Hopper and yelling at him about the supposed military aid that didn't even arrive yet.

"You can't just shoot this with guns!" Mike yells out.

"You don't know that!We don't know anything!" Hopper snaps back.

"We know it's already killedeverybody in that lab!"

"We know the monsters are gonna molt again!"

"We know that it's only a matter of timebefore those tunnels reach this town!" Dustin, Mike and Lucas explain.

"They're right..." A new voice joins in and (y/n) looks over to see that it was Will's mum, Joyce. "We have to kill it. I want to kill it."

Me, too, Joyce, okay? But how do we do that? We don't exactly knowwhat we're dealing with here." Hopper sighs out.

"No. But he does." Mike looks over at Will who is still unconscious. "If anyone knowshow to destroy this thing, it's Will. He's connected to it.He'll know its weakness."

"I thoughtwe couldn't trust him anymore." Max says.

"He's a spy for the mind flayer now." (y/n) finishes off.

"Yeah, but he can't spyif he doesn't know where he is."
