Laney: Hey bestfriend!

Me: Hey!

Laney: Wyd?

Me: Well we just broke up... He broke up with me, but I didn't cry. I guess thats the good out of it. I don't know.

Laney: Awe bestfriend!:( - but exciting news me and James are together again!
but with exciting news come bad news...

Me: Awe thats great! but what's the bad news...

Laney: I'm... Well...

Me: Your...?

Laney: Im moving...

Me : Wait, what!? No you can't leave! You know I can't be here without you!

Laney: Bestfriend... I'm moving to Orlando... But we could still go to Disney with each other...?

~five minutes past~

Laney: Hello?

Laney: Bestfriend?

Laney: Hey!? You There!?

Laney: Ok i guess just text me when you want...Love You Bestfriend. <3

I couldn't bare with what had just happened... I just lost my bestfriend. My only friend. I cried for days on end. I tried texting and texting, but no reply for days.

Me: You know you can text me whenever, even if it's late. If it means I can still be in contact with you.

My phone buzzed. It was Kaleb, my ex- boyfriend.. We have an on/off relationship, and that was adding onto the pressure. Wiping a hot tear from my cheek, I answered with the most calm voice I could possibly make.

"Hey."

"Hey.."

"Eh..What's up?"

"Nothing.. NOTHING, erm.. Nothing! Why you ask?"
I gulped. There was a lump down my throat that made me want to burst into tears, but I had to keep it cool.

"Eh.. You alright? You seem a little.. Jumpy."

"Oh, no no no! Eh... Moving on, why'd you call me?"

"I needed to talk to you..."

"Oh yeah! Go straight ahead!"
I let go of the breath I didn't know I was holding and listened to him.

"Kimberly.."

"Kaleb?"

"I still like you. I want you to be mine again. I'm sorry. I was so, urg! Stupid!"

I could hear him band his fist on his computer desk. He was genuinely mad at himself.

"I.. Well... Kaleb..."
I didn't know what to say. I was so nervous and my stomach was in knots. Could getting back with him make me happier?

I don't know.

"Kaleb I'm sorry-"

I could hear him gasp in disappointment.

That's it.
"Kaleb I still like you too."

Silence trailed off. I could tell he was smiling on the other line.
