Chapter 2- Escape

When Phil woke up, he was no longer in the cage with various hostile creatures. He was strapped to a cushioned chair. He wiggled a bit, but was clearly tightly bound. The rooms walls were a dull white with the floors being a yellow tile. No window stood at the front, only a door.

That angel has tried to kill him. He saw it, the way it grabbed his chin, clearly trying to reach his neck. Phil let out a stuttered breath, not realizing he had been holding it in. Where is he? The lizard said he was in Qirzl, Bellam. A place he had never heard of, certainty not home. Was he kidnapped? Phil couldn't quite process the situation he was in, especially with the little information he had. But what was clear, was that the mobs that took him, were dangerous. That was obvious.

The door opened, to reveal the same two mobs that he had always seen. The angel with pale skin and the girl with fins on its head. It had short blue hair with it's hands webbed. They cautiously walked in, closing the door behind them. The angel had a table that it rolled in, one filled with various tools that Phil did not recognize. It put it next to him as the fish girl stood at his other side. It put on plastic gloves and stared at him.

"Subject 249, Philza, hostile." It spoke, the angel handing it a tool. It brought it to his eye, Phil flinched and tried to back away, but his head was strapped. It pryed his eye open, using the tool to hold his eyelids open. It shined a light in his eye. Phil winced. "No sign of brain parasite, nor any disease that may cause hostility." The angel forced his mouth open and swabbed the inside, placing the sample in a small jar.

Fish girl took off the tool that held his eyelid and handed it back. The chair rose him up into a sitting position.
"Now, mind explaining why you killed one of our subjects, Phil?" It asked. He looked at her,
"They were trying to kill me." He muttered, slightly unsure of his answer. The way it looked at him unnerved him.
"No they weren't," he glared at it. "I understand your confusion, but we are not monsters. If you do that again, Phil, there will be punishment." Somehow, he had a hard time believing that they weren't."but, since you did kill someone, you will be punished. punishment 304." It yelled the last statement, promptly walking out along with the angel who dragged the table with them.

Phil's heart sunk, punishment did not sound good at all. He struggled in the binds, but they didn't come any looser. The collar that hung around his neck beeped, a small red light flashing. Fear struck him, as he now has a clue as to what was about to happen.

A sharp and painful shock struck his neck, traveling throughout his body. Phil's body spasmed as his muscles contorted. He gritted his teeth, tears in his eyes as he resisted the urge to scream.

It only lasted a minute, as the shocks ceased. Phil's body relaxed as he lay limp in the chair, aching. He sighed, his neck raw. They weren't monsters? It didn't seem like it to him.

"Containment breach! Subject 249 west hall!" The speaker spoke. Alarms blared around him, red lights flashing as he raced down the hall. People shouted behind him and rooms blurred as Phil ran for his life. The collar that once shocked him was broken, the light that once lit up not doing so. He had did it! He finally broke the collar and got out. After many months he can finally be out of this hell.

He looked up to see two doors with sunlight peaking out of it. His heart soared. Bars began to go over the entrance, he gritted his teeth and willed his legs to run faster. Phil quickly slid under the bars slamming the doors open. He brushed off and started to run, the lab now behind him.

Before him was a long road with a huge lush forest covering the area, clearly hidden. He dove into the forest and began to run, run, and run. Phil continued to run as far as he could, away from the hell that once tortured him.

Phil slowed down, breathing heavily. He placed his hand on his knees, bent over trying to catch his breath. Plopping into the ground and leaning against a tree, glancing behind him for good measure. Nothing. He was out! Phil grinned, letting out a small laugh as he silently cheered to himself. Finally!

The celebration ended quickly as he heard leaves crunching behind him. He quickly got up and peaked form behind the tree. Did they already catch up to him that fast? A figure came into view, what appeared to be a boy. Two small red horns poked from his blonde hair. It had blue eyes and pale skin. A demon like tail swept behind him, also red. It held a basket, bending down and plucking a mushroom from the ground. It appeared to be a demon, with no wings though.

"Is this it? Ugh, I hate doing this shit...." The demon muttered to themselves. Phil looked at the mushroom he picked up, instantly recognizing it. That was a very poisonous mushroom, one that if touched would give you a nasty rash and kill you if you ate. Phil frowned, was this guy an idiot? "guess I'll try it and see." It muttered, bring it to it's mouth.

      Phil's eyes widened,
"Don't! It's poisonous!" He shouted quickly jumping from behind the tree. He slapped the mushroom out of it's hand. The boy jumped back in surprise, looking at him.
"Who the fuck are you?!" It shouted, looking at him up and down. Phil cursed, he shouldn't have done that. He should've let the demon boy eat it and die. Phil backed up, looking for ways to make a quick escape. He quickly went to bolt away but a hand grabbed his arm.

A pig like human stared at him. Scars were on it's faces with a crown on top it's head. A royal cape sweep behind it with combat boots on it's feet.
"Where are you going?" The pig grumbled. Voice deep and monotone. Phil tried to wrench his arm from it's grip, but it was no use.
"Techno! What are you doing here!?" The demon shouted, clearly upset. The pig, or Techno looked at it,
"Well, I knew you were gonna get yourself in trouble. And I was right, you were talking to some..." It trailed off, giving Phil an odd look. "Whatever this thing is... Is that a collar?" It pointed at his neck. Phil took it's confusion as an opportunity and decked it in the face. Techno let go but the demon boy grabbed his leg, tripping him. His chin banged the ground,
"Ow!" He shouted. Techno hauled him up, arms wrapped around his torso.
"Alright strange creature, you're coming with us." Techno muttered, hauling him over it's shoulder. He looked at the demon, who had a cheeky grin on it's face.
"Take that bitch." Phil glared at it, trying to wiggle himself out of the pigs grip, to no avail.
"Stop wiggling. Geez...." Techno grumbled, ajusting it's grip on him.
"Let me go swine!" Phil barked. Were they gonna eat him as some afternoon meal? After all he's been through this is it? The demon laughed, bopping his nose.
"Nice hat!" The demon teased, plucking it off of his head and putting on.
"Ugh." Phil muttered, glaring at the child. He wouldn't hesitate to drop kick it at any moment.
"Tommy! Open the door and stop messing around." Techno ordered. The demon, appearently Tommy ran out of his view. Phil craned his neck behind him to see that they weren't going back to the lab. But instead a small house.

He banged his hand on the door frame, as they entered the house.
"Hey! Did you get.... What did you bring?" A new voice said. Techno lowered him into a chair, holding him down as Tommy tied him to it. Phil struggled, but the ropes were way too tight, so he gave up. Like usual. He looked up to see another person. It had fluffly brown hair with blue scales on it's face and hands. Two fins on it's head and webbed hands. A fish like tail swept behind it, eyes a soft brown. It wore a simple yellow turtle neck with black pants.

"This guy popped from the trees and slapped a poisonous mushroom from my hands. Then Techno came along and grabbed him." Tommy explained, his hat still on it's head.
"Yeah, see that collar, he's from the experimentation center." Techno pointed to the collar around his neck, currently broken. The fish man's eyes widened as it nodded. It leaned in closer to him, looking at Phil up and down. It gasped,
"Wait, that's a human! Holy shit!" It shouted, a smile on it's face.
"Please Wilbur, those things died a long time ago." Tommy stated. Fish man, or Wilbur shook it's head.
"Nope! That's definitely one. I mean, no wings, no nothing. Clearly a human! Right?" Wilbur glanced at Techno who just shrugged. It looked back at Phil, seeming a little excited. "Can it talk?" Wilbur asked, poking him in the cheek. Phil turned his head away, tempted to bite the fishes finger. Yeah he was upset that these monsters caught him, after all that godamn work.
"Yeah I can talk, now let me go!" He snapped. He wiggled in the ropes, as Tommy just laughed.
"Oh no, the bitch is mad!" It teased, waving his hat infront of him.
"Cut it out Tommy. What's your name?" Wilbur asked. Phil sighed, this isn't exactly how he wanted to escape.
"Uhhh, Phil." He answered, hoping they would be sasified and let him go.
"Okay enough of this, let turn him in and go on with our lives." Techno walked up to him and started to untie the ropes. Phil's heart sank, his eyes widening.
"Wait don't! Please!" He pleaded, as he started to struggle. Techno grabbed him and put him over it's shoulder. "Please don't! I don't want to go back! PLEASE!" Phil screamed, breathing quick as his eyes darted around. Looking for an escape. Tommy's grin fell from his face as Techno stopped.
"Maybe we shouldn't..." Tommy muttered, placing the hat back on his head.
"I have to agree, he seems terrified! They do some awful stuff there too..." Wilbur said, grabbing onto Technos arm. The pig sighed, and placed him back down onto the floor. Phil collasped into a ball, hiding his head, arms wrapped around his legs. His entire body shook with fear, as he wept. Techno frowned,
"I'll get him some tea." It muttered, walking away. Wilbur kneeled down, glancing at Tommy who stood there. Not knowing what to do.
"I'm sorry Phil, we didn't mean to scare you." It spoke softly. Wilbur laid a hand on his shoulder. Phil quickly stopped crying, lifting his head. He jumped up and shoved Wilbur away, backing away into a cornor.
"Don't touch me!" He yelled, hand grasping the collar around his neck. Were they trying to hurt him?
