CHAPTER 3

"Kongpob are you really sure about this? This is the last chance. You can't back off after this."

Kongpob, who was taking out the luggage from the car looked at Aim's concerned face.

Kongpob sighed, he asked Lia to behave well who was jumping seeing the new flat in front of her.

"Aim, we have already reached Thailand now. I have been preparing myself for this for the past two months, Aim. I have no other way. You heard, our boss telling that if I reject this I will be fired! I have to bring up Lia, Aim."

Kongpob looked at Lia and smiled bitterly.

"She is the only one I am living for."

Aim smiled in return and nodded his head.

"Kong, the driver is coming," Aim said as he found the company's driver who picked them up coming back to them with a man in a suit, who to their surprise was a familiar face.

Kongpob's eyes widened, he soon corrected the jeans and shirt he was wearing and covered his shoulder with his long hair above the scarf which was around his neck. He cleared his voice before he smiled at the two figures approaching them.

"Good Afternoon, sir and mam. It's really our pleasure to meet you," the man in the suit greeted them. A teasing smile on his lips.

Kongpob's voice was stuck in his throat, he looked at the man in front of him and was afraid if he would recognise him.

"Oh P'Knott, you know you don't have to be so formal with me," Aim replied.

Knott chuckled before he moved forward to hug Aim.

"It's really great to meet you after so many years, Aim. We were really happy to know that it was you who was coming here."

Aim smiled and released from the hug.

"Mommy, who is this?" Lia's voice interrupted the two old friends from their reunion.

Kongpob looked at Lia and hushed her to be quite which she did, nodding her head cutely.

It was then Knott's attention turned towards the lady beside Aim.

Knott smiled at the lady and waied with respect.

"I'm sorry for ignoring you, mam. I was excited about meeting Aim. He was my junior at university," Knott reasoned, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

"It's okay, sir. Aim had told me about it," Kongpob spoke in a gentle and stress-free voice which made his voice seem small and gentle. The way he spoke made him clearly feel like a woman.

"You can call me Knott, mam. Your good name please?" Knott's questioned, he knew the latter's name but as a formality he asked the name.

The question made Kongpob hesitate for a minute but soon he smiled at him.

" Krisia, Krisia Prachaya. And this is my daughter, Liane," Kongpob said as he looked at his daughter.

Knott smiled and nodded his head before he bend down to look at the girl who was standing behind her mother's leg.

"Hi there, Liane! How are you? Do you want chocolate?" Knott said as he handed out a bar of chocolate from his pocket towards Lia.

Lia's eyes sparkled at the sight of chocolate, she quickly took the bar of chocolate from Knott's hand and smiled.

"You can call me Lia, uncle. Mommy and Uncle Aim call me like that," Lia replied, smiling as she displayed her dimples.

Knott stared at the young girl for a moment before he shook his head and stood up.

"Mam your husband?" Knott asked to Kongpob.

Aim looked at Kongpob who only smiled at him bitterly.

"Well, he died in a car accident. I'm a single parent," Kongpob answered, the bitterness in his voice clearly visible. He felt the words that slipped out his mouth forming bitterness in his tongue.

"I'm sorry."

Kongpob nodded at Knott and smiled.

"Okay then, both of your rooms are arranged on the 8th floor. Our driver will guide the way. Please excuse me, Mam. And Aim, we will see you later, Arthit and Prem are excited to meet you."

At the mention of Arthit's name Kongpob's body stiffed, his breath became uneasy but soon he controlled himself as he took Lia in his hands.

"We will see you both tomorrow at the office. I hope you guys have a great day," Knott said as he patted Aim's shoulder and waied at Kongpob before he walks away.

Kongpob looked at Aim and both left out a sigh of relief.

********

Kongpob was sitting on the bench in a park and was watching his daughter play in the slide.

A small smile playing on his lips as he watched his daughter playing.

He clearly saw his lover in his daughter. There was not even a single day he had not thought of the love of his life.

Kongpob stood up from the bench and walked around the tall trees, looking down at his legs which were moving forward in rhythm.

Kongpob was wearing a black and white polka dots, full sleeve jumpsuit, his long artificial hair laid loosely on his shoulders. The light makeup he had worn made him look beautiful. There were people looking at him from time to time because of his beauty.

"Mommy!!!!"

Kongpob turned at the voice and caught Lia in his hands who rushed towards him.

"What is it, baby? You are not playing?" Kongpob asked.

Lia smiled widely and shook his head.

"Mommy! Mommy! You know one thing? I have a Daddy! You didn't tell me but, I saw Daddy just now!"

Lia's words brought fear in Kongpob's eyes. His lips started to quiver.

"W...wh...who? Who is your Daddy? You have no Daddy! You only have me!" Kongpob scolded Lia.

Lia looked at Kongpob with her innocent eyes and pointed towards her right.

"Mommy! See! There is Daddy!"

Kongpob looked at the direction and his breath stopped. His heartbeat raised. His forehead sweating.

He quickly stood up as the figure walked closer to him with a bitter smile in the face.

"Hey, Kong.nRemember me?" The man in front of Kongpob waved his hands.

Lia soon jumped down from Kongpob's hand and rushed into the man's arm and kissed his cheeks.

"P...P'Ar...P'Arthit?"

Kongpob's voice shuttered. His eyes turned misty, his breath becoming uneasy.

"Oh, so you do remember me, huh?" Arthit's voice was hard.

Kongpob gulped and looked at Lia in Arthit's hands. He wanted to run away from here. There was no other choice.

"Lia, come to me, baby. Let's go home," Kongpob lifted his hands towards Lia ignoring the glare that Arthit was giving him.

Arthit pulled Lia away from him.

"What did you think of Kong? I will not recognise you if you wear a girl's costume? You are wrong Kong! You are wrong."

Kongpob looked at Arthit with fire ranging in his eyes.

"Give my daughter back to me!" Kongpob's voice changed. He didn't try to speak in his duplicate voice anymore.

"No! She is not going to come with you, Kong! I know this is my daughter! And I know that you are the one who gave birth to her! Why Kong? Why? Why did you hide me from her? You're selfish Kong! You have changed! You are not the selfless person I knew! You are selfish now! I am taking Lia with me! She's my daughter!"

Arthit's words struck like lightning in Kongpob's heart. The tears in his eyes started to flow. His voice was not coming out.

Everything suddenly turned black around him except for Arthit and Lia.

He saw Arthit glaring at him as he walked away from him with Lia in his hands.

"You're soo selfish! You're going to pay for this Kong!"

Arthit's last words ringed in his ears before everything turned black.
