CHAPTER 20

"P'Noel, you can't just do that to me!"

Kongpob's eyes filled with emotions, he was feeling as if he would faint any moment.

Noel walked forward and took hold of his brother's hands. His eyes moved towards Arthit's which was filled with concern towards his lover.

"Kongpob, we cannot leave Pa and Mae like that. We have to teach them a lesson. Since the company is under my control now, no one can ask anything to me."

Kongpob pressed his hand on his chest as he took deep breaths. Images of how his parents tortured him flashed through his mind making his breath raspy.

"No, I can't do this. No! I can't! They hate me! They will hurt me more! They will hurt my baby! They will hurt P'Arthit! No! I can't handle it!"

Arthit rushed to his lover's side and held him in his arms.

"Relax, Kong. I'm here with you. We are here with you. We will face this together." Arthit gave strength to his lover.

Arthit wants to make Kongpob's parents pay for what they have done to his lover and their relationship.

Sarah who stood beside Noel, watching the scene before she walked towards Kongpob and held his hand in hers.

"Kongpob, we may not have encountered more but from what I have heard from P'Noel about you, his brother is a very strong person."

Kongpob looked into Sarah's dark eyes. A calm and smooth expression on her white skin.

"I'm in almost the same situation as you Kongpob. We both are on the same boat. I promise you we will be beside you. Please trust us. Mr. and Mrs. Suttilak should not live happily after they turned their sons' life into hell."

Kongpob's eyes darted back to Arthit's who nodded his head and smiled.

"What if they hurt you guys? I can't risk your lives." Kongpob clings onto Arthit's chest.

Noel sighed and shook his head.

"No one will touch us. We will have our own protection. See Kong, if we don't do anything now, then we will not be able to live peacefully here."

Kongpob remained silent for a few minutes before he took a deep breath and nodded his head.

"I will do it P." His voice filled with determination.

Noel hugged Kongpob tightly as he smiles.

Arthit and Sarah looked at each other and shared a smile.

"Come to our office tomorrow at 8 am , Kong. I'm excited to announce the new President of the company. Mr.Suttilak has to give up his position."

Noel smirked as he spoke.

*****

"Choose which one you like, baby girl."

Liane pursed her lips together. Her little finger on her chin as her eyes roamed around the various chocolates that were on the racks.

Arthit chuckled at how his little daughter was taking each chocolate, looking at it and then keeping it back to just take another one.

"I will go to the grocery section, look after her, P'Arthit."

Kongpob smiled at his lover before he walked away to buy the groceries.

Kongpob had planned to go for grocery shopping after they reached back to their apartment after visiting his brother.

Arthit decided to tag along with the Kongpob and Liane, which made Lia jump happily.

Arthit watched Lia with a smile engraved on his lips.

He watched Lia taking a small packet of chocolate and showing it to Arthit with her dark black eyes, smiled excitedly.

"I want this, Daddy!" She squealed.

Arthit squinted down and took the chocolate from Lia's hand.

"Lia, you could have chosen the bigger ones. This is a small one and I don't think it is a good one, it is not a good company's." Arthit observed it as he looked at the chocolate bar in his hands.

"But, Mommy told me not to buy big chocolates," Lia replied innocently.

Arthit stared at his daughter," Why is that so?"

"Because it cost big money! Mommy said we have to pay for the house's rent and buy food and we don't have so much money. I don't want to make Mommy sad. I only want this chocolate." Lia said smiling sweetly, showing her dimple to her Daddy.

"When Mommy has money he used to buy me big ones, I'll them when Mommy buy only."

Arthit's lips trembled as he heard from Lia. He felt guilty that Kongpob had to suffer to keep himself and their daughter live without him.

"That's okay, baby. Now you can take your favorite chocolate. Don't worry, Daddy will pay for it." Arthit caressed Lia's hair.

"Really?" Lia's eyes sparkled.

Arthit nodded his head and smiled when Lia excitedly took two big bars of Lint chocolate from the rack and held it tightly towards her chest.

"Come on, let's find Mommy."

Lia nodded her head and held Arthit's finger with her small palm as she jumped towards to see her Mommy.

Arthit found Kongpob looking at the various vegetables and picking each one with intense care. Kongpob was never a person who would spend his time cooking according to how Arthit knows him. Kongpob himself had only started cooking for him but he never went for elaboration.

Arthit sighed. People do change according to what they have to face.

"Papa!" Lia screamed as she ran towards Kongpob.

She didn't forget the promise she had made to not call Kongpob Mommy infront of the public.

Kongpob turned his head towards Lia who ran towards him waving two large chocolate bars in her hand with a smiling Arthit who was walking behind her.

"Papa, see this! Don't worry Papa, Daddy said he will pay for it. You are not angry at Lia, right?"

Kongpob looked at Arthit who only winked at him before he squinted down to meet Lia's hight and smiled.

"No Lia, I'm not angry with you. But promise me that you won't finish these bars within one day."

Lia chuckled and nodded her head at Kongpob.

Kongpob smiled and kissed Lia before he took her and placed her inside the trolly.

Arthit walked towards Kongpob and kissed his cheeks, surprising Kongpob.

"What was that for?" Kongpob asked as he pushed the trolley to pay the bill, while Lia was screaming that she was in a car as she sat inside the trolley.

"Nothing, I'm sorry for not being there for you when you needed me the most." Arthit sighed as he looked at Lia.

Kongpob chuckled and shook his head.

"Don't be sorry P, I'm the one who chose this path. You are here for me now, right? That's enough for me and Lia."

Arthit smiled and nodded his head.

Arthit soon paid the bill for the items while Kongpob and Lia were waiting for Arthit.

Arthit walked towards Kongpob after paying the bill and took Lia in his arms when she lifted her hands towards him.

"Oon, is that you?"

Arthit turned his head towards the voice and found that it was his mother and father who was standing not too far away from them.

"Mae? Pa?"

Kongpob snapped his head towards Arthit with a horrified look.

"What!?"

Arthit smiled nervously when he saw his parents walking towards them with a huge smile.

"P'Arthit! They are your parents? Oh god! What will I do?" Kongpob started to become panicked.

Arthit chuckled, " Relax Kong, they won't eat you."

Before Kongpob could reply, Arthit's parents were standing infront of them.

"Oh my! Is this Kongpob? You look more handsome than the photo Oon showed us," Arthit's mae, Priya, hugged Kongpob tightly leaving no choice for the latter other than hugging her back.

"Finally we get to meet your lover boy. Oh, is this Liane?" Arthit's pa, David, asked in excitement.

Priya parted away from Kongpob and moved to see Lia.

"Oh my! She looks soo similar to you, Oon!" Priya squealed.

Kongpob and Lia looked at each other with confusion. They still couldn't register what was happening, especially Lia.

"Lia, this is your grandma and grandpa. Won't you say hi to them?" Arthit asked his daughter who was in his hands.

A smile of amusement broke out from Lia's lips, "Grandpa and Grandma? I have grandparents!"

Lia went down from Arthit's hands and rushed to Kongpob.

"Mommy, we have grandparents!" She exclaimed in joy.

Kongpob smiled when he saw how happy his daughter was. " Say hi to them, Lia. Be a good girl, "Kongpob pointed at Arthit's parents.

Lia nodded her head and walked towards her grandparents.

David and Priya looked at their grandchild with happiness. They exchanged a look of confusion when Lia asked them to squat down with her hands.

As soon as they kneel down, Lia hugged them both tightly and kissed each of their cheeks.

"Grandpa, grandma, Lia love you two so much!"

Tears whelmed up in David's and Priya's eyes with happiness. They kissed their granddaughter's cheeks.

"We love you too, dear."

Arthit walked towards Kongpob and held his waist, pulling the junior closer to him.

Kongpob looked at his lover and smiled. The people around them were looking at them with various expressions but they didn't give it into concern.

"Mae, Pa, let's go home. We will talk there."

Priya took Lia in her arms who was smiling brightly, hugging her grandma. David smiled and nodded his head before he and his wife followed Arthit and Kongpob.

*****

Kongpob nervously shifted in his seat. He wiped away the sweat on his forehead.

He was sitting in the middle of the living room in Arthit's house. They have reached home just a few minutes ago and David and Priya are already engaged in playing with Lia, touring her through the room and showing her pictures of her dad and teasing him. Arthit was laughing along with the other three while Kongpob was completely feeling abandoned by all of them. But he was thankful for that, he didn't know what to say to his in-laws' questions, well they will one day be his in-laws right?

He had already tried to answer all the questions Arthit's mother was showering him with from the time they entered the car. He could only smile nervously at her and give a short answer about his health and his job.

Arthit finally sensed the silence of his partner, he looked at Kongpob who was fidgeting on his place but had a smile playing on his lips watching Lia happily chat and laugh with her grandparents.

Arthit moved towards Kongpob and kissed his cheeks.

"P!" Kongpob blushed at the sudden action, he glared at Arthit when he heard a small laugh from Arthit's parents.

"What? I just kissed my boyfriend, not anyone else," Arthit wriggled his eyebrows.

Kongpob looked away from Arthit, still a smile making its way to his lips.

Suddenly Lia ran towards him, her hands on Kongpob's lap as she looked at her with shining eyes.

"Mommy, Lia is hungry!" Her lips formed a pout and Kongpob couldn't help with pinch her nose.

"Kongpob we should have lunch I think so, what should I make for her?" Priya walked towards her granddaughter and Kongpob.

"No! Mommy make food for me!" Lia whined.

Kongpob looked at Arthit's mother with apologetic eyes.

"Sorry, Mrs.Rojnapath, Lia only eats food which I make, or the food should be brought from any hotel."

Priya chuckled at Kongpob's words, she looked at Lia and Arthit, then back at Kongpob.

"Really? Do you know? Arthit was soo stubborn in this matter. When he was young he wouldn't eat any food that is made by others, he only ate food which was prepared by me. She had inherited it from him."

Kongpob smiled as he heard it, he looked at Arthit who rolled his eyes at his mother's words.

"Mommy, hungry!" Lia whined.

"Kong, come with me. We will make something for her!" Priya took Kongpob's hand excitedly and marched to the kitchen.

Kongpob was stunned at Arthit's mother's free behavior towards him. It was the first time they had met eaqach other and yet they were not disappointed at him or Arthit like how his parents were and he was more than happy for it.

From how Arthit's parents behaved to him he understood that Arthit had talked to them about him and Liane.

"Son, what should we prepare?"

Kongpob's eyes widened as he heard Priya address him as 'son', his eyes filled up with warm liquid. There was so much love and care in that voice. His parents never called him with nicknames, their voice always seemed cold except the time after Noel walked away from their house. Even though they seemed as if they loved Kongpob during those span of time, he could clearly notice the fakeness from them.

"Hmm...do we have rice noodles?" Kongpob asked nervously.

"Yeah, we have," Priya replied.

"We can make boat noodles it's her favorite," Kongpob said.

"Ok! Sure!"

Priya walked around the kitchen taking out the necessary ingredients while Kongpob looked around trying to figure out what he should do.

"Mrs.Rojnapath, can you please tell me where the utensils are?" Kongpob asked softly.

Priya turned towards her son's lover and smiled.

"I told that you can call me Mae, right? You're my son's lover after all," Priya said as she walked towards Kongpob.

Kongpob gave a shy smile and nods his head, "Yes Mae."

Priya then showed Kongpob where the utensils were kept and all the other ingredients.

"Kong, Oon had told us about everything. Don't be hesitant with us. We love you as our own son."

Priya said after she and Kongpob started to cut the vegetables.

Kongpob looked at his lover's mother in surprise.

"First we were angry at you because you changed our son into a person we never knew. Even though Oon didn't tell us that he had a lover we could guess it because he always had this glow in his face whenever he met us during the past years. But then suddenly that glow faded away," Priya sighed.

"He started to drink so much, he became an alcoholic. He started to live with us, he said he had so much bitter memories at the place he stayed, he didn't want to get hurt. After coming home drunk he always talked about this Kongpob guy asking why did he leave him and how much he loved him."

Kongpob felt as if someone was stabbed his heart. His eyes filled with tears. Arthit never told him about how he had been for the past 5 years Kongpob had left him. He only got a glimpse from his friends about his lover's conditions.

"One day Oon tried to suicide, he was going to jump from the terrace. For God's sake, his friends had come home at the moment to visit him and they found him standing at the other side of the rail, if he leaves his hands he would fall. They scolded him so much and tried to convince him. That's when they came up with the idea of the new company."

"After Arthit started to work in the company he slowly started to become better but still we couldn't see the glow in his eyes, he started to busy himself more. But I was thankful his drinking habit was reduced."

"I'm sorry," Kongpob mumbled.

Priya turned towards Kongpob and placed a hand on the shaking shoulder.

"Don't be sorry, son. I understand what you've gone through, my boy. You went through your pregnancy without your lover beside you and I can say that is the worst feeling ever. Pregnancy gives a lot of pressure to the body and as a woman, I understand it, since you're a man it's more difficult. You had to go through a lot my boy and I'm thanking you for giving me such a beautiful granddaughter."

Kongpob chuckled through his sobs and nodded his head.

"Come here, Kong," Priya widened her arms as she pulled Kongpob for a hug.

Kongpob buried his face on her shoulder, the motherly scent making him feel safe, he felt happy to get the love and care that he missed soo much.

"Don't think about the past, son. Even if it was me I would do the same even if it would hurt my loved ones. You had so much in your shoulders and no onwards you're not alone, I and Pa will be there with you. Moreover, Arthit is here with you, he has missed you so much Kong. Just know that he loves you so much."

Kongpob nodded his head and parted away wiping his tears.

"Now, jub! Jub! Lia will start making a fuss if she doesn't get her food."

Kongpob let out a small laugh before joining Priya with the cooking.

He felt so happy, he felt as if the god is giving him whatever he creamed for. He has such caring persons who he can call Mae and Pa, his lover who he loves more than himself and his beautiful daughter who meant the world to him.

Kongpob smiled contently as he thought about coming back to Thailand was never a mistake. It was destiny that brought him here.

Thinking about it his thoughts halted as Noel's words ringed in his ears.

He sighed as he started to mentally prepare himself for what might be waiting for him the next day.
