Prologue: So... I'm in trouble, aren't I?

♠~•Percy•~♠

I have absolutely no idea why I was suddenly standing in the middle of the throne room up in Olympus. I was just packing my stuff, I was about to leave camp since summer was ending, then I blinked and noticed that I wasn't in my cabin anymore.

"Perseus Jackson," Zeus's voice boomed, I immediately knew that I was in for it. I bowed down in respect, I glanced at his side and noticed that my father wasn't sitting in his throne. Something odd was going on, I rose up, "Why have you summoned me to Olympus, Lord Zeus?" I asked, hoping that my voice didn't waver at the end. Getting called to Olympus with my consent is fine, getting called to Olympus without my consent is not. It's either they're going to give me a lifetime amount of blue candy or I'm in so much trouble. I fancy the first of the two options.

His icy blue eyes crackled with a strange emotion, something in between anger and regret maybe. The sky god sighed heavily, " As you know, you have saved Olympus and the world countless of times in your lifetime, leaving us all indebted to you. However, your actions have proven how strong you are and how much stronger you can get," I have a feeling that this conversation is going to go downhill any second now.

"The council of Olympus have decided what action we would have to take, to eliminate the risk." My eyes widened, I knew what this 'risk' was, and that being said, I meant me. "Hold up, what do you mean 'risk'?" I asked.
"He meant you, son of Poseidon." Hera answered my question, I expected her to look at me with disdain, but all I saw in her eyes was pity and regret. "We would have to kill you," Hermes said, "no mortal had ever been as powerful as you since..." he trailed off, not finishing his sentence. I couldn't believe what I was was hearing, after all I have done for them, all of the sacrifices, everything that I have been through, I was just going to get killed by the ones I have helped in the end. I gritted my teeth, "So this is the thanks I get for helping you? I have gone to hell and back to save your petty butts, for years I have suffered for your sake, and you just throw me away!"

"I bled in the name of Olympus, heck, I was ready to lay my life for you!" the gods were silent, my voice echoed through the vast hall despite me being tiny. I laughed bitterly, "Fine, kill me for all I care! You would just have to deal with the consequences after my death."

"I think that wouldn't be necessary." a man spoke up, I whirled around and saw a man that was probably in his early twenties, his dirty blonde hair was sticking out in random directions, he was wearing a black suit with a green tie complimenting his outfit, but the most mesmerizing thing about this man were his eyes, sometimes they'd be forest green, then ocean blue, then rusty brown and so on and so forth. Zeus rose from his throne, eyes wide as plates, "Lord Chaos," he bowed down in respect, as did the rest of the Olympian council. I bowed down as well, because I don't want to get blown into the stratosphere. "Rise, I do not need such formalities." he said, his gaze locked on me, "Perseus Jackson, son of Poseidon." Chaos's eyes twinkled with wonder, "Never had I seen a mortal more nobler than you. Your fatal flaw, loyalty, it is rare to find it in mortals nowadays. You would do anything for the people you trust, your friends, and those who you love." by then, Chaos had already walked in front of me, I realized that he was actually taller than me so I had to look up to meet his gaze. He turned to Zeus, "As for you, I thought you were smarter than your predecessors. Killing a hero, whom your lives are indebted to? Immature and idiotic are you, loves." a few gods hung their heads in shame.

He paced up and down in front of the Olympians, "And that is why, I must take him with me." Chaos announced, I had to process what I heard. Why in Hades was he taking me with him? No way am I going with a stranger, even if he's the dude that practically created everything. The gods have gone pale but a certain god was whiter than a sheet of paper, "If you say that he's much too powerful on earth, then I shall take him to my realm. It is what was in the Prophecy, yes?" Chaos said, he was now standing behind me, he had a hand on my shoulder but I did not feel alarmed at all. I perked up, "Wait, what? What Prophecy?" I looked at Chaos, his gaze was on Apollo who was going paler each passing second. Then he looked at me, "I'll explain later. Look love, I'm not forcing you to join me, I'm giving you a choice. Join my army so you could protect the universe, or stay here on earth and be tried for your actions against Olympus."

No one made a noise, the gods were expecting an answer from me. I was torn. I didn't know what should I choose. If I join Chaos's army, then I might never see home again, and if I stay, I would be tried, and possibly get blasted into smithereens. Apollo was looking at me expectantly, so did the rest of the gods. I made my choice.

"Fine, I'll join you." I said, hoping that I wouldn't regret my decision. Chaos smiled at me as if I was his son, "You have chosen well, Perseus." he patted my back. "But I want to ask a favor from the Olympians." I got mixed reactions, some were surprised, some were enraged and some were curiously observing me. "Don't tell anyone that I joined Chaos's army. Cover it up and say that I disappeared from the face of the earth. Tell anyone that would ask that you never knew where I went. Tell them... I ran away."

Welp, here we go again. Actually, I published a story similar to this a couple of years ago, when I was quite younger and inexperienced. If you guys know, I took down that story because the plot was so cliché, the story was going nowhere, and my writing skills wasn't the best at that time. If you don't know, well, I guess I saved you from the cringe. I have learned from my mistakes, and decided to give it another shot. I guess I improved, but I won't deny that it would still be confusing (English isn't my first language, so please bear with any grammatical errors), but I hope you guys would have fun reading this because the plot actually took me Three months to think of.

Anyway, ciao~
