I leaned on the counter and waited for a costumer. Another slow day

Than a guy came in, tired, stains on his shirt and held onto a worn-out backpack.

" Where's the restroom? " He asked. His voice was deep but soft.

" Down the hall past the arcade machine " I pointed where to go.

He nodded and walked towards the restroom. A few minutes later, he came out, wearing something different.

My ears followed him as he got a drink from the coolers and turned to get some chips. He glanced up and I tried to avoid eye contact. He smiled a bit, then walked over to me and placed the items on the counter.

" Just the drink and chips? " I asked and he nodded as I punched in the price into the cash register.

He looked around and back at me. " Looks like I'm the only one here. "

I laugh and hand him his goodies. " What you get for living in a small town " He nodded and his eyes started to wander off again. " You new here? I haven't seen you around. "

" No actually, I lived here when I was little. " He scratched the back of his head. " A lot has changed. "

I smiled and nodded. " I'm Lee Soyeon, by the way. "

" Kim Taehyung. "

The silence started to become more noticeable.

" Uh, well I'm going to look around a bit. "

I jumped a little. " Oh yeah, sure. See you again, I guess? " I waved awkwardly as he started to leave.

He gave a small smile. " Of course! " He pushed open the door and gave me a wide rectangular smile. " Bye Soyeon-ah! " and left.

I watched him walk down the road, I bit my lip slightly. I could get used to seeing his everyday. I giggled a bit and went back to waiting for another customer.
