As soon as the students walked out of the building, families ran over and grabbed their child as if their life depended on it.

Mothers were crying, fathers were hugging their child with all their might, siblings joined the hug, everybody except the parents of the dead.

Zayn walked over to a young women who was holding her blonde hair daughter in a tight hug and the dad was standing off to the side. This was the mother of Sarah, the twin who didn't make it out alive.

"Mrs.Ames, I believe it you've heard from your other daughter what happened?" She shook her head, confusion clouding her face, and Lexi looked like a deer caught in front of headlights, as if the memories were just coming back to her.

"Well, ma'am, I'm very sorry to inform you but your other daughter, Sarah, was killed." Zayn felt like he was a jerk for saying it so casually. He felt even worse when she collapsed onto the ground, sobs emitting from her mouth and her husband was trying to keep her up on her feet.

Zayn walked away to the next family, letting the Ames grieve in piece. He located the man standing alone in a small corner, standing on his toes as if he was looking for someone.

Makya's father.

"Excuse me, sir?" The man stopped looking for that person, and turned to Zayn.

"Yes? May I help you officer? Have you by chance seen my daughter, Makya?"

"That's what I came to inform you of sir. I'm very sorry, but Makya was killed inside." The look on the mans face was heartbreaking, and tears had already filled his eyes.

"This is some cruel joke, correct? My little girl is going to come out any moment now and she's --- she's not really coming out, is she?" Zayn sadly shook his head, and walked away before his emotions would get the best of him.

He saw his another officer already talking to the women he was to go to next. Juding by the way she was crying, she had just been told that her daughter, Aneliz, wasn't going to be going home that night.

So, Zayn made his way over to a women who had curly blonde hair and a man who was already balding near the top of his head. The man was holding a young boy on his shoulders, and he looked like he was getting bored.

"Mr and Mrs.Griffin?" Zayn asked as he walked up, as soon as they saw him, they knew something was up. Smart parents.

"I'm very sorry to inform you, but your daughter won't be coming home tonight." Zayn walked a few minutes later as the the mother grieved the lost of her daughter, Nikki.

Instantly he ran over to where his wife, Belle, was waiting with their daughter, Faye, and engulfed them in a hug.

But not all stories have happy endings.
