Derek blinked his eyes. He had been woken up by a sudden light being shone right in his face. He shielded his eyes, squinting around.

All the students jumped when a voice boomed throughout the confined space.

"We need two volunteers." Derek knew himself that this would be his death if he volunteered, but he would rather himself die than any of his other classmates.

Most people thought of him too be a snobby prick since he was popular at school. He really had no choice in the matter. Derek really hated all the attention he got from girls, he would rather sit in the library during lunch and read a book about a cliche love romance.

Slowly, Derek rose too his feet, "I volunteer."

His eyes snapped to the other side of the room where a girl stood. A girl that was beautiful in every way possible. Derek knew very well who this girl was, everyone in their school did.

She was the girl that everyone had in their school. The one who thought she was fat, but she truly wasn't. The one who thought she was ugly, when she was literally an Angel sent from the God's above. The one who harmed her delicate skin, and where Derek just wanted too kiss the scars and remind her that it would be okay.

She was the one girl who didn't want to die, but was afraid to live.
