"i stole a couple peanut butter cookies from the kitchen, here" Lance smiled and passed one to pidge as he sat next to her in the green lion hanger. "thanks lonce" Pidge said with a sweet smile. "lonce" Lance said a little surprised since pidge normally says is name correctly. "ah sorry, i got a little mix up" pidge said with a sad smile. "what's wrong" Lance asked with worry. "no you just remind me of a farmer son i once knew" Pidge said and tears started forming in her eyes. "sorry, you dont need to tell me" Lance said with a small smile and hugged her tightly so she could cry. "thanks but would you mind listening to me, you deserve to know what might happen if you keep around me" Pidge cried. "pidge" Lance said with worry. "please, i dont want the same to happen to you" Pidge cried. "i always be here" Lance smiled and gently stoked her back as she started to talk. 

WHEN PIDGE WAS SIX.

"crap the princess got away" a man yelled with anger. 

"she couldn't have gotten far, her leg injured" another man yelled.

"I'm scared" little six year old Katie cried into her knees as she sat behind a tree trying to hide since she could walk anymore from the pain her foot was given. One of the men went to mess with the small princess and shot an arrow near the bottom on leg. She just barely got away from them and sat behind a huge tree near the edge of the woods just crying out the pain and fear. 

"here i stole these from my mum, they really yummy" a small tan boy about a year older then the princess smiled bright and sat next to her passing a peanut butter cookies. "a cookie" Katie said shocked but knew it probably be poisoned like the others she been given. "yeah its the best peanut butter cookies in the world since my mum makes them just for me" the boy grinned brightly and took a bite before looking at Katie strangle because she didnt take a bite. 

"dont you like peanut butter cookies" the boy asked. "i dont know i never tried one but many people try to kill me with food" Katie said with a frown. "well dont worry my mum a great cook unlike my dad, so try it and tell me how amazing it is" The boy smiled at her and Katie took a bite smiling from how nice it tasted and not being poison for once. "yummy" Katie smiled brightly and her eyes shined making the boy giggle. "i know right" the boy smiled and Katie nodded but soon frowned. 

"you better leave before someone sees you, I'm not allowed friends" Katie said worried for the boy. "then i wont become your friend" the boy smiled shocking Katie. "what" Katie said shocked. "if i dont become your friend then their no problem and we can keep hanging out" the boy smiled brightly. "but they might hurt you for just being near me or worse" Katie said with fear. "then they meanies but i wont leave a cute crying girl alone" the boy smiled and Katie giggled. "well i guess as long as you sit behind the tree no one will see your face" Katie smiled since she finally found someone nice. "fine with me, oh my name lonce" the boy known as lonce smiled brightly, he was tan and tall for his age. He had blue eyes like the sea and brown hair making Katie eyes sparkle when she looks at him. "um i dont think i should tell you my name, it might protect you a little" Katie said with worry and the boy smiled and then jump up. 

"then i nickname you as Pidge" lonce said with a huge smile and pointed to Katie who smiled at the name he given her. 

"thank you, lonce" Katie smiled but quickly winced when she felt pain.

"yikes, that look horrible" Lonce said with worry. "yeah, many people here dont like me and often attack me" Katie said with a frown. "well we better pull it out and wrap it up, do you mind" lonce asked with worry and knee next to her. "please pull it quickly and just rip part of my dress for wrapping" Katie asked and closed her eyes ready for the pain to come. "like i could spoil such a pretty dress, you look really beautiful in it" lonce smiled and rip his top before pulling the arrow out of Katie leg and wrapping it. "thanks lonce, you really kind" Katie smiled as she cried and lonce hugged her. "well i always be your prince since we cant be friends" Lonce said with a proud smile and Katie giggled.

Katie started going to the tree everyday to meet lonce by the same tree. She would chat with him for hours and laugh with him forgetting all the bad stuff and just enjoying hanging with her prince. Lonce might not have been as smart as the princess but he knew people weren't very nice to her since she always have a new injury everyday but he knew not to ask. Once week lonce came to the tree to find out his pidge never came and started to worry. He knew she wouldn't just stop coming without a reason and so he walked out the woods towards they way she always came.

He reached the castle and sneak inside thinking she was a maid. He walked around and hid inside a room when he heard guards coming and that when he found his pidge. Laying in the bed weakly and he notice the fear and shock in her eyes when she saw him. "why are you here, its not safe" Katie said with fear the guards might hurt her prince. "i was worried about you but i didnt expect you to be a princess" lonce said with a worried smile and walked over. "sorry, i couldn't come becuase i was poison again but i be able to meet you next week" Katie smiled. "poisoned, so your princess Katie that no one likes, the traitor" Lonce said shocked. "yes I'm princess Katie, i understand if you hate me now and dont want to meet again" Katie said with a frown. "no way in hell i leave you, I'm your prince and i keep staying by your side until we can run away" Lonce yelled shocking Katie. "you stay with me" Katie said with a happy smile, she always wanted to hear those words. "yep, so promise me to take care of yourself and to always meet me when you can" Lonce smiled and held out his pinkie. "i promise to always return to my prince" Katie smiled brightly.

"I'm glad, well i better get home before my mum worries" lonce smiled. "sure, take care and i see you Monday" Katie smiled. "i be waiting Pidge, oh here i stole another couple peanut butter cookies" lonce giggled and passed one to Katie before climbing out the window. "thanks" Katie smiled and ate it.

Soon Monday came and Katie ran to the tree. She sat under it knowing she was a little worried since lance could never come before lunch. After an hour lonce came popping out the tree with two bright red apples. "lonce" Katie jumped and lonce giggled as he climbed down the tree. "sorry pidge but i noticed the tree was growing apples and grab a couple" lonce smiled. "wow they look so red, like they were in a book" Katie smiled and lonce pass her one. "here, an apple for my cute pidge" Lonce smiled brightly and Katie took once. "thanks my prince lonce" Katie giggled and they both ate their apples before talking and laughing for hours. 

"hey pidge when I'm older, I'm going to take you away from here" lonce smiled. "but lonce no one escapes this planet" Katie said with worry. "I'm gonna become an amazing piolet so we can leave here and live happy somewhere else" Lonce smiled and held Katie hand. "i looked forward to that day" Katie smiled, she knew it was impossible but lonce made it sound real. "oh its getting late, i better get home before mum comes looking for me and finds you" Lonce said with a small smile and stood. "see you tomorrow my prince" Katie smiled. "hey pidge, eat this apple" Lonce smiled and he climbed the tree and grabbed the other two. "why" Katie asked. "so you wont miss me, I'm gonna eat mine so i wont cry over missing you so do the same" lonce smiled. "sure lonce, sleep well" Katie smiled. "have lovely dreams" lonce smiled and waved as they both went different ways.

Katie ate her apple with a bright smile, she couldn't wait to wake up and see lonce again.

She couldn't wait to chat with him or laugh with him.

She couldn't wait to see him. 

But Fate was never nice. 

Katie ran to the tree not scaring she was beaten with a stick by her sister the night before. She wore her green dress that lonce liked so much and ran to the tree with a smile. She couldn't wait to see him smile or bright eyes when they see each other. But as Katie made it to the tree she saw a note. 

Come to the middle of the woods princess

Katie read it and knew lonce would never write this plus his writing stinks. He was more a drawer but she did as the letter said since she was worried they might have lonce or might do something to him if she didnt come. She made it to the middle of the woods and fell to her knees crying. "no" she cried as she saw lonce with a rope around his neck hanging from a tree with a note stick to him. Katie made her way over and took the note letting her tears fall.

My son death is on your hand princess

"its my fault they killed him" Pidge cried into lance shirt as he just hugged her not sure what to say. "i knew he be in danger if he stayed near me and yet i was selfish and didnt push him away" Pidge cried and Lance just held her closer to him. She just told him something really important to her and something that broke her heart a little. He wasn't sure what to say or do or how to even feel. How can you stop something from thinking everyone around her will die since that what her planet did to her. 

"Pidge" Lance said with a sadden smiled and held her cheeks whipping her tears with his thumb. "you shouldn't be so kind to me" Pidge frowned. "but i want to, I'm your friend and i promise not to die on you" Lance smiled kindly. "really" Pidge asked. "really and we miles away from your planet, they cant hurt me or you anymore" Lance smiled and kissed her forehead. "so please dont cry, i hate to see so many tears spoil your beautiful face" Lance said with a caring smile and Pidge weakly smiled back. "thanks lance" Pidge smiled and Lance smiled back. 

"now for your prince well he seemed to care about you and I'm sure he wouldn't want you to blame yourself, I'm sure he want you to be happy" Lance smiled. "he would always stop me from crying and would always make me smile since he said my smile was better then any angle" Pidge giggled. "smart guy i say, he knows how to say the truth" Lance grinned and Pidge giggled. "thanks, I'm sorry about all that" Pidge smiled. "its fine, I'm glad i was able to learn more about you and get closer to you" Lance smiled and hugged her once more before standing up. 

"now shall we steal some more peanut butter cookies from hunk" Lance smirked. "sounds like a plan" Pidge giggled. 

"how can i not let them steal the whole plate after hearing that" hunk said in tears. "shh you idiot they hear us and know we heard" keith hissed. "what a brave kid, i feel like crying for her sake" shiro said in tears. "they coming, quickly shut up and hide behind the tools" keith whispered and pushed the other two behind a huge tool box on wheels, like they have in car shops. "so should we pretend not to hear that or should we tell allura so she can trust pidge now" Hunk said with worry. "no way we tell allura, she might make things worse knowing others been killed for even hanging with pidge, lets just make this place a home for pidge" shiro smiled. 

"hey lance" Pidge smiled. "what's up" Lance smirked. "i race you to the kitchen" Pidge giggled and started running. "hey you cheater" Lance laughed and ran after her. "you got longer legs then me so your the cheater" Pidge giggled. "then i guess I'm the cheater" Lance laughed. 

"they are such children" keith sighed and rolled his eyes. "if they want cookies then they should just ask" shiro sighed. "yeah but sometimes stealing them more fun and i bet you two want some cookies but too shy to ask since your big men" Hunk smiled. "what no way, like i want a cookie" keith liked. "yeah I'm an adult i dont go running after cookies" shiro lied. "would you both like a cookie" hunk asked with a smile and the two boys nodded in defeat.
