NEARLY TWO WEEKS LATER



so now they were pretty well acquainted. Percy hadn't told them he was abused, and Thalia hadn't told them how her mom sacrificed her brother, Luke haven't mentioned that his mom randomly sprouted prophecies, only saying his mom was crazy instead and annabeth, she didn't mention the neglect of love and how much she needed it. Other than that, they could read each other like books and knew one anothers back stories like the back of their hand.


At this point in time, they were packing up, getting ready to move on from that safe house, since all the monsters and authorities in the area knew they were there. The three kids slowly dropped their belongings down to the dumpster, where Luke was waiting to catch them. Then Thalia slowly lowered herself out the window, beginning the slow descent down the building. She got a foot down and then jumped onto the dumpster with a ThumpThump clank!!! Being in the building with this had helped with her fear a little, but not completely. She let out a long sigh as she collected herself, decomposed herself, then mashed back k together her thoughts scattered by fear. Luke smiled at her and opened up her arms, which she unhesitantly laid into. They looked up waiting for the two smaller kids to jump down.

Thalia POV


We waited for a good few minutes until I got inpatient and called up to them "are you common or what?" I got a knowing giggle from the pair in response. Frowning I looked up at them, higher till I reached the window. The building I had called home for a few weeks was a dusty gray compared to the pinks and oranges that painted the air around the sun as it sunk deeper into the ground. Putting my focus back on the window in a quick glance, and refocused my self just in time. In time to see the two kids that we knew quite well, jumping out the window. My mouth fell open as I watched my friends of almost three weeks tumble through the sky. Finally as they were a foot from the actual ground I snapped out of my trance. I felt my eyes widen as they spun and landed on the ground, still holding hands. They started laughing , probably at our expressions, so i snapped my mouth shut and narrowed my eyes on a slight glare at them. Then I told them off about it,

" oh my gosh, how could you do that!?!??! I am going to kill you one of these days!! You almost gave me a heart attack!!" I mindlessly ranted at the kids about everything. They seemed to know I wasn't fully in it because I was pulled out of my stupor, cutting my rant short by two bodies smashing me into a hug. They giggled saying

"yes mother " we all laughed even though as far as I knew, we ALL had mother issues. Then I noticed a fresh and sharp pain in the younger boys eyes, the resentment from the little Blondie and sadness and anger from the older blonde. I felt myself give off a cold feel also. I pulled away and looked my friends over and said

"I get the feeling that we all left out something about our mom's, so when we get there, first thing. Ok." I got dismayed nods back. Percy almost to tears. Being the stupidly brave, tough as nails kid he was, he wiped them away fast and grinned cheekily, erasing any trace of sadness. He grabbed Annie and hoisted her over his shoulder. She squealed with surprise, demanding to be put down as Percy raced out of the alley. I laughed at them before I too was hoisted off my feet, and yelping in protest, very similar to the pair before us, as like ran off after them.

The very ecstatic kids managed to get all the way through the crowd when we got to the crowd. Percy turned around and began to run back to 're group with us. All the sudden , the crowd parted entirely, and some man in a car came shooting down. He slammed on the breaks to avoid hitting the two kids. He rolled down his window and shouted

"Get outta my way you good for nothing street rats!! "

Percy dropped Annie off his back and she landed lightly, in her feet. They shared a look and simultaneously punched the fancy car, forming small dents on the front . They then took off signaling us after them. We all began an all out sprint. We didn't stop running for a while. Until we were putting that state and across to the next. we stopped at a railroad. Despite the great shape we were in, we were gasping for air. We leaned up against a trailer. Spontaneously, we all walked into it. Luckily it was empty. We crashed on the carpeted floor. Still panting slightly, I said

"Ok spill"

Then we all looked at each other. Frowning Annie said "oldest to youngest" We all shrugged and looked at Luke. Who in response sighed.

"Ok so, my mom, she was a clear sighted mortal. Since the Oracle apparently needed a new host, she went with my dad to try it out. It drove her insane. She is obsessed with me. She scares me by randomly telling prophecies. She gets possessed. I mean her eyes glow and she doesn't remember it. " He said in a sad bit frustrated tone.

I frowned deeply but went on with my story. Told them how my mom was a drunkard. How she gave up my brother and all that. Then I shut up and looked at Percy. The two others gazes shifted to the raven haired kid. Who sighed before starting.

"M'kay...so my mom, actually die-died the day I ran away. We-we had beeennn, being. Um how do I saw this exactly?" He said his voice cracking frequently . I felt more horror then I did for Luke. But Luke's situation was horrifying also.

"Phrase what?" Annie asked quietly snapping my attention back out of my thoughts and back to my lil brother (by choice)

He moistened his lips , sea green eyes swimming with tears.

"We were being  ab-abuse-abused by my step father. And I let her die!!" He said suddenly sobbing and slamming his district on the floor. "And it was all my fault!" He said falling completely still and silently letting tears fall.

"How long?" I asked

"Since I was 2 " he said in a fragile whisper.

"Can I see?" He looked up surprised, then nodded unblinking . He slowly pulled his shirt off over his head. This time none of us could contain our gasps. All his skin was a mess of white scars. A few bruises, small cut, big cuts small holes like glass cuts randomly scattered. Quite a few burn marks were noticeable. I pounded the floor with my fist. It was so wrong.

"Did he..?" I started to ask

The blood drained from his face he nodded "he slit her throat, in front of me, they were arguing about me... I " he ended with a frustrated noise.

Annie began to talk as he slipped his shirt back on.

"Well mine isn't dead or drunk or crazy, but um. Actually my godly parent is my mom, so no issues there..but my step mom. That's the problem. My dad hated me, I reminded him of her, The goddess apparently. He didn't want. He remarried and tried to live a normal life. But monster started chasing me. My step mom thought I was a freak. She wouldn't let me play with her two normal kids, she ignored me, and my dad played along too. So I left." She said her voice breaking slightly but you could see her anger.

Somehow we all ended up in a giant group hug. Somewhere during one of the kids muffled voices said

"But I don't care, I left that behind. I have a new family now."

I felt myself nod in reply. Yes I had a new family now. I heard Luke say

"A new and improved family. One that will stay together forever."

"Forever? Do you promise?" Annie's voice asked

"Promise" Luke said

None of them saw the shadowy figure move past the window........

Oooooooohhhhhhh yeah, ik you all hate me for not updating for like two years. I know sorry, I promised .......

that I would update but I went on vacation. So sorry guys.
