Annabeth POV

After we went around telling our stories we lapsed into a slightly nervous silence, whilst thinking through all the stories and mauling over the details. My thoughts took a trip down memory lane as i went though my own tale. Visions of my stepmother tear through my mind. A glint catches my eye, pulling me away from my thoughts and towards the window. As soon as my eyes met the window, a shadow darted away from it and I felt my breathing stutter. My staggered breath brought three pairs of eyes to me in concern. 

"Annie?" Luke questioned, worry lacing his voice.

I have him a half hearted glare as my mind raced to find an exit. 

"What's-" Thalia began before a bang was heard on the door. Unconsciously, I froze, and felt the others follow in suit, stiffening next to me. I felt my blood run cold before another knock startled me out of my panic long enough to pinpoint our escape route. I tugged on Percy's arm and he unfroze, instantly moving to tug on Thalia, who grabbed Luke. In a human chain, I lead them up a set of boxes in the corner. They crunched and created under our feet, but it's not like we had many options at this point.

When we reached the top, Luke squirmed his way to the front of our line and rammed his fist into the vent cap. 

SQUEAKKKKKKK!!!!!! The rusty cap popped open. I flinched at the noise. At least we got the thing open. But oops. When the banging outside paused, we knew knew mistakes had been made. All was still and quite, and my heart was pounding in my ears. One if the voices outside cut through the silence,

"You dolts!! Why'd you stop? Get that door DOWN!!" And the banging resumed with a little mumbling. 

I almost sighed in relief. Lucky for us, these guys were just as dumb as thought!! In front of me, Luke hoisted himself up. Seconds later, his hands reached back down and hoisted me up next to him. I uncurled my arms from his as I lightly set my feet on the roof. Thalia came up next to us, and finally Percy. Thalia then set about shutting the cap again. She picked it up gently and slid it back into place carefully, in order to prevent another squeal.  I looked up at the darkening sky as the last traces of sun continued to drain away. I found it hard to believe we spent that long in the trailer....hmm. 

In the time I had been thinking, Percy had snuck around the roof and located a small ladder leading to the ground. We walk as fast as possible without injuring ourselves and dash down the ladder in the same manner. When my feet hit the ground with a light thump!, a small cloud of dust comes up from the ground drifting into the trailer. 

And as soon as it touched the trailer, the whole thing practically fell over.

Welllllllllll, glad we weren't in there just now. 

I feel a tug on my hand as Luke and Percy dart off into the woods, since Percy and I were still holding hands for reasons unknown, I was  brought with him and awoken from my brief day dream. Just as we reached the edge of the woods, a good twenty/thirty feet away FIZZZZZooooOP!!! the sound of something sparking being thrown....

BOOOOMMM!!!!!!!

The force from the blast hit my back. Hard. I, along with my three friends, went tumbling onto the open ground. I had thrown my hands out in front of me,.letting go of Percy's hand and protecting my face. When I landed, my palms scraped the ground beneath me, making me instantly thankful for my previous decision. 

I lifted my face out of my hands and looked around. Through my disoriented, swimming, vision, I managed to gather that we had rolled some ten feet into the forest. 

Well, there's the incredibly convenient luck I'd been missing for the last, say ALL years of my life.

Now to find everyone else...

Forcing myself up off my stomach and onto my knees, I managed to get  a better look around. Dread courses through me like lightning, settling in my stomach making it sink. 

None of my friends were anywhere in sight.
