Chapter 02: Noona

As you enter the bar, you are shocked. Nothing can describe what you are seeing . . .

The roughly pigmented smell was strong with the scent of smoke and an awful fragrance of what would most likely be the liquor. The lights are dim, if not barely visible. And the noise of yelling, shouting, and rap music are beyond your comprehension for words.

You are most likely scarred for life. However, the boy standing next to you is not even paying attention to you and what you are currently witnessing, but the girl slumped in a chair at the dinner area of the bar.

And easily identified by her rather sweet complexion, Lacey sits with a huge bottle of who knows what, and two glasses of liquor on the side. She was wearing a short shimmery dress with black pumps and a lazily dazed face laughing coyly at a muscular man with tattoos covering every inch of his body.

You were scared at the sight, but the boy standing opposite you just approached them like this was a daily occurrence. Like it was normal to go fetch your excessively drinking sister from the bar at two o'clock every morning.

You merely inch behind the boy in hopes of being the assistance you said you could be. Honestly, you're terrified, and have no intentions of helping such a drunkenly sickened woman as that.

"Noona," he says, tapping her shoulder.

The girl in the shimmery dress looks up dreamily at the young boy with red hair as though he was another man, rather than her own flesh and blood. "Jungkook?" She seems surprised. "W-what a-are you doing h-here?" Lacey laughs flirtatiously and glances back at the bulky man eyeing her.

Ah. The gorgeously handsome assaulter who grabbed you down the road was Jungkook.

Jungkook appears dully unsatisfied and progressively unamused. He seems dry and unmoved by the circumstances in every way. Folding his arms, mini biceps protrude under his pale, overlapping shadows of skin. "Noona, come on," he says more forcefully. "They're waiting for us."

Completely dazed and dysfunctional, Lacey levers backwards into the table in asking for another shot. Of course, the bartender refuses to give her any, saying that she'd drunken enough for two lifetimes. But he claims that she's consumed enough to where she can't even live out one. She pouts like a child and drops into the currents of her slightly disturbed, beach-wavy hair.

She's a whack job, you surmise. You are utterly dismayed and overwhelmingly disgusted.

But this is when you come in. The brat is trying to be unreasonable, so you decide it's time for you to get tough. You've never been in this situation before, but you decide that you have to look the part when duty calls. Mustering the courage you think you have, you step up to the plate. Because Y/N?

It's butt-whipping season!

"Hi," you say sweetly, thrusting your hand at Lacey and forcing a smile, "I don't think we've officially met. I'm Y/N, Jungkook's friend."

Jungkook looks at you as if wanting to ask, 'What in the Milky Way galaxy are you doing!?' It was a murderous stare that makes you repel slightly.

But even when you realized you didn't know who you were dealing with, you did know who you had to be to help get his sister out of this. You give it right back. You stare, 'I'm saving your butt and the poo that comes with it!'

His eyebrows go up, subtly glancing at the bodybuilder to say, 'You don't know what you're dealing with.'

You take it back. 'Yes, I do.'

Lacey takes your hand and regards you with curiosity, even if she is drunk out of her minds. "Nice t-to m-meet you," she replies. "M-my name is L-L-La—"

"Sweetie, let me pour you another drink," the big, bulky guy grumbles overtop Lacey's hiccuping voice. "You deserve the best wine in all of—"

"The BEST," Lacey obsesses, fixated on the yellowish liquid being poured into her glass. "Oh . . . The BEST-the BEST-the BEST-the BEST . . ." And Lacey drinks the entire glass in one go, which truly sickens you. There is no way you can tolerate that.

"Uh," you cut in, getting down to her level and touching her shoulder, "Lacey-honey, let us take this to go, okay?" You have no intentions of taking that to go.

Nevertheless, you look to grab the large bottle of what you now learned to be wine. But the big man sitting opposite the bottle, thrusts a hand round the flask. Unfortunately, you involuntarily gasp and back away.

You are embarrassed now that Jungkook is perking a sharpened eyebrow up at your fear of what he was specifically warning you about. He also gives you this look and a head tilt that tells you to get behind him if you're really that frightened.

No questions asked.

Lacey begins to appear even more drunk than she already was, if that is even possible. Extremely bubbly and disgustingly clingy, Lacey was reaching out for the bulky man covered in tattoos from head to toe. As if the show of affection was to be expected, the man gets up and starts touching the youngly receiving girl sitting at the stool, slumped in a dream so foggy, you're sure she's unconscious but still awake.

"That's it! Get your hands off my sister!" Jungkook shouts at an unimaginable degree of anger and fury. Everyone in the entire bar looks at the three of you, and you are ready to freak out, all because Jungkook decided to yell.

No, you can't blame him; you're just scared.

Yes you can. You want to shrivel up and die.

Jungkook pushes the guy away from his sister's drunken body in attempts to break up something Jungkook apparently didn't like.

You take the initiative to help Lacey off her stool, which proves more difficult than you deciphered before you decided on helping her. When she wraps her arms around your neck, you struggle to limp the two of you to the door, as she can barely stand her ground.

"Woah, boys," the bartender warns, breaking up the argument. "If you have to resolve something, take it outside, not on my property." With that, the man turns his back and resumes to his duties in filling up glasses and attending to people's orders.

Everyone is still watching the three of you now, because Jungkook is still worked up and needs to let his anger out by breaking a beer bottle over the top of a table. The bartender yelps in complain, but Jungkook ignores him.

Instead, Jungkook grabs his sister roughly by the arm and flings her outside the bar and nearly into the darkened streets where you were once traveling alone.

You follow them, the force and sudden rage taking you by surprise.

It had taken Lacey by surprise, too. Jungkook chases after her, not giving her a living second of a break. Grabbing her hard, Jungkook shakes her. "What were you thinking?" he yells in her face. "Huh? What were you thinking?"

The shaking must have made her woozy, because immediately, Lacey drops to her knees and starts throwing up in the middle of the road.

You run out to them to stop this Jungkook from shaking his Noona.

Too. Far.

With vomit in her hair and tears drenching her clothes, Lacey needed to get home to rest, take a shower, and have some ginger tea. You tug Jungkook with more force than you have ever used on anything in your entire life.

"Stop it!" you yell. There's your soft side, Y/N. "She's just a little girl!" You find yourself kneeling beside the drunken Lacey and take her by the hand. And thoughtfully, you ask, "Where do you live?"

But instead of answering, Jungkook intercedes by getting on all fours to look his sister in the eyes. "Noona?" he whispers, calmingly. "Is it gone?"

Lacey sobs to herself, but stutters, "I'm sorry. I-I didn't know."

"Noona," Jungkook murmurs low enough so that only you can hear. "You never know."
