Mates...mates...I can't manage to wrap my mind around this fact. This turn of events has just made my life ten times more complicated. Shaking my head trying to regain my focus, I really look at my mate for the first time. He stands at around 6'4 with broad shoulders and a tapered waist, his brown hair is kept on the shorter side, he possesses a sharp facial structure and piercing blue eyes, all around he's most likely the most attractive man I've seen in my life. With that being said, the timing is awful.

"What's your name?" I ask quietly. 

"Theodore Sinclair, you're welcome to call me Theo though." I notice how he doesn't mention is ranking, honestly it's a refreshing change since most alpha's tend to boast of their role. 

I nod my head in understanding before sighing, "I, Alexandra Matthews, rej-" Theo goes from confused to livid in record time and his hand covers my mouth before I'm able to finish. 

"No. Do not even attempt to finish that statement." he grits out, his eyes flashing black as his wolf attempts to take control.

Between his tone and the vulnerable position I'm in, I can't help but let the feeling of fear skitter through me. Seeing this, Theo pulls his hand away but with a sharp look demanding my compliance. "Alexandra, I want you to explain why you thought that was acceptable?" his voice is firm but his eyes have softened, it's clear Theo's more upset than angry. 

"I...you don't want to be involved with me, it's all too complicated, it won't be good for you or your pack...alpha." 

He runs a hand through his hair before looking me directly in the eye, "That's not your decision to make. I'm not afraid of complicated. It's my choice whether or not I want to be involved with you, not yours."

I let out a shaky breath, trying to figure out how to convince him that he truly is making the wrong decision no matter how much it pains me. "Little warrior, stop overthinking it, relish the fact that we have this bond. I've been waiting for you for so long. Please let this happen, I want to help you Alexandra." Theo's voice is gentle, a hint of desperation being heard. 

I chew on my lip for a moment before slowly nodding, "Okay." my voice just above a whisper.

So, that rejection almost happened...but it looks like Theo isn't going to make it easy for Alex to just run away because of her fears. And look, we know their names now and Theo sounds like a very attractive male! ;) Alright, so they're still together but how do they move forward from here on out??
