The rest of the day is relaxed, I stay curled up on Theo's office couch with a book. I understand that right now it's necessary to stay close, his wolf is anxious from everything they've learned and needs me in his line of sight. Theo has been doing paperwork all day, along with answering phone calls, and conversing with his Beta. This reminds me of when I used to sit in my father's office as he worked, talking about what I learned in school or training that day.

"Theo, Leila has invited both you and Alex over for dinner if you'd like to join us?" the Beta, whose name I've learned is Phillip, announces.

Theo looks over at me and I nod my head, I need to get to know the pack and this is the perfect way to start.

"We'd love to."

The three of us head over to Phillip's home, which is a lovely two-story. When I enter, the smell of food assaults my senses and my mouth waters slightly at the delicious scent. I watch as Phillip's mate looks up, her eyes brightening as she sees us enter.

"Welcome! Oh, it's so nice to meet you finally! I'm Leila, this brute's mate." she says pointing the wooden spoon she's using to stir at Phillip. Phillip just rolls his eyes in response and goes over to her, giving her a sweet kiss.

"Thank you for inviting us to dinner, it smells wonderful. I'm Alexandra but you can call me Alex." I reply offering a small smile. I jump slightly when I feel Theo's hand on my low back.

"Yes, thanks Leila. It's been way too long since I last had your food." he adds warmly, guiding me further into the kitchen.

"Oh Phillip go grab a beer for Theo and here Alex I'll pour you a glass of wine." Leila orders her mate before grabbing a glass and filling it.

Once everyone has their beverages they all chat, the conversation is relaxed and focuses on everything going on in the pack. I sip on my wine, content with listening. At one point Theo pulls me closer.

"You alright? Having fun?" he whispers into my ear.

I nod and lean back into his chest and I can't help but let out a small purr of contentment. I feel Theo's body shake slightly as he chuckles, placing a kiss on my hair. Minutes later we're seated and digging into the food, the pasta dish is to-die-for as is the garlic bread. My glass is refilled and I'm starting to feel the effects of the alcohol, I start to add in little comments here and there.

So we see that Alex is getting to know some pack members, that's progression! Plus, she seems much more comfortable with Theo...it's nice to see her relaxing for once.
