I visited our favourite place today

It has been quite a while

I strolled the cobbled paths alone

Greeting others with a smile

I remember well your sparkling eyes

When we trod these paths together

Your enchanting luminescent smile

Dispensed to all with pleasure

And as I sat a while upon our bench

I stumbled back in time, to the magic of our days together

In this little paradise, sublime

The myriad of blooming flowers, the bees and butterflies

A perfume compiled by nature

'Neath Caribbean blue coloured skies,

Where we once held hands in comfort's rapture

The warmth, the texture, and the touch

I close my eyes, yet fail to capture

That affectionate embrace I loved so much

So, breathing in the essence of those years, I sigh, 

A day, lost in all that's left of memory, my yearning betrayed by tears
