The day had finally arrived. Charumati was getting married. The city gleamed with joy. The guests started to arrive but there was a lot of commotion. Though everything was prepared, everyone was trying to prepare something or the other.

Charumati looked at herself cladded with a heavy, maroon coloured lehnga and heavy gold and diamond jewelries. It reminded her of her doll she wedded of to her friend's doll. She adorned her in a very similar manner. She was so keen about their wedding being a grand function that she invited everyone from her and her friend's family.

Everything went well and her doll went away with her friend's doll. Charumati took regular updates about how she was doing, as if she was her daughter. But slowly it faded away. Slowly, she forgot her doll. No one talked about her until one day her friend came to her, looking guilty. That's when she got to know that her beloved doll broke and her friend lost few of its pieces.

The doll's fate was miserable. Will she too suffer like her, keeping in mind the similarities of pampering she has got all the while and her grand wedding? Will she too be forgotten?

Realising her thoughts, she shook them out of her mind, focusing only the positive thoughts. She is starting a new life with lots of love. She too will have a loving family now.

The ceremony began with the priest starting to chant the mantras. Bali, the groom cladded in cream sherwani like upper clothing endowed with floral designs and a dhoti, was seated near the holy yagya kund. Soon after, Charumati was called to join the rituals.

Afternoon turned into evening by the time the rituals concluded. It was now the time for vidai, when the girl's family lets go of her, into a new family. Showering rice grains behind her, Charumati walked out of the palace with everyone following her.

She never dared to take a glance at her now husband. She never saw his face but trusted her father blindly enough to marry a person he hasn't seen even once. Well, she maybe has seen him when they were children but all the memories were blurry.

Once out of the palace, she broke into tears she was trying to hold back. Hugging everyone once and getting their blessings, she walked towards their now close relatives, the Pandavas and the Kauravas. They blessed her to stay forever a married woman and to live a life with her husband's love.

While taking Duryodhana's blessings, she noticed his gaze on his daughter, who did not cast him a glance. She mentally prayed to her God to amend the relations between them.

Done with taking everyone's blessings, she sat in the palanquin. Her heart raced as the palanquin raised and started to move. Wanting to look at her maiden home one last time, she looked back. But what she noticed scared her.

For the first time in her lifetime, she noticed her father having moist eyes without a smile.
