THE NIGHT WENT ON WITH PEETA FALLING BACK asleep and Erin was twisting and turning around, trying to get in a more comfortable position with her eyes screwed shut.

She sighed and gave up trying to fall asleep, she should have expected that she wouldn't get any sleep while the dangers from the games were present.

She gave Katniss a faint smile when she saw her also awake, keeping guard. Her eyes darted to the sky when a loud bang sounded, making her ears ring in protest and Finnick gave her a weary look.

"I counted twelve." Katniss said, her eyes half closed trying to fight the urge to close her eyes and sleep.

"Midnight?" Finnick asked.

"Or the number of districts?" Katniss suggested.

Off in the distance, an oddly shaped tree was getting hit with lightening repeatdly. Finnick who laid beside gave the girls a tired smile. "Well, If you two aren't going to sleep, I will."

Erin nodded giving his knee a single pat. "I guess were the only ones left." She glanced at Katniss.

Katniss gave her a tired smile. "Just the two of us."

Erin was falling in and out of sleep, the events of the day had caught up to her, her head hang low as she slowly gave into her drowsiness. From the corner of her eye she could see that Katniss was fighting the same effects, trying to stay awake.

Somehow she was still awake when it came. It was think and burly cloud of greyish ash, swallowing every dewy plant life whole as it creeped closer to the group. It was too murky to be fog, but it sent alarm bells off in her head. She questioned whether she was just hallucinating because of her blood lost or if it was real.

It dawned on her that she wasn't dreaming when she watched Katniss reach out to touch it and screamed.

Erin became fully alerted, eyes wide like a deer caught in the head lights as her heart beated rapidly in her chest, adrenaline pumped through her veins.

"Run, Run! The fog is posion!" Katniss cried out as she reached for Peeta who was still waking up.

Erin mind was a mess as she didn't understand a single thing that was going on, the only thing on her mind was getting everyone away safely. She was petrified for their lives and the urge to flee was growing stronger with each passing second.

So that's what she did, she dragged a drowsy Finnick with her and began running through the slippery jungle dodging trees right and left as the fog creeped closer to them.

"Come on, come on."

Erin felt her lungs scream for air as she pushed herself to her limits and maybe even crossing them as she tried to escape the poisoness ash.

Erin felt a surging pain flow through her body as the fog made contact with her back, she could feel her limbs stiffen. She bit the inside of her cheek to refrain herself from screaming out in pain as tears welled up in her eyes.

But then everything happened so quickly, Katniss fell to the ground with a loud thud, causing Peeta to go back for her and get hit with the acid fog, it covered his face with blisters. He screamed in agony as the fog embedded him like thousand needles.

Erin too was getting coverd in the painful blisters and boils, Finnick who was too close to the wall burned a part of his body. Her body screamed for her to just give up and let the fog consume her, but she was stubborn and she kept running.

Peeta had fallen to the ground, to weak to continue. Katniss was yanking him hysterically as the fog raged on towards them.

Erin blinked furiously, as the tears filled her eyes, making her vision blurry.

"Peeta!" Katniss cried as Finnick and Erin reached them. Katniss was shaking uncontrolable, both from the pain and the fear of losing Peeta again. They all struggled to stay standing. "I-I can't carry him. Peeta, please. Peeta, please stand up" katniss begged. "W-We have to go!" She tried to move him more urgently than before.

In this moment Erin was not angry she was furious, with the Captitol, the games but her anger hadn't been as high as it was at this moment as their body were tortured to a point of breaking and it was all because of one person and one person only. Snow.

Determination flashes across her eyes, she would show him that she was strong, undefeatable. All her life she had been thrown around like a rag doll by president Snow and this time she would show the Capitol she wouldn't just survive, she would thrive.

"Come on, get him up." She ordered through gritted teeth and grabbed one of his arms throwing it over her shoulder. Finnick followed her actions and pulled his other arm around his shoulder. Katniss was behind them as the Fog inches closer and closer.

With all the strenght they had left, they dragged Peeta with them. Every step they took the pain increased.

And just like that the group of four fell down a hill, dropping like flies. They tumbled down the hill, Erin closed her eyes in defeat and waited for the fog to consume her and end her young life.

But it never came and she slowly pried her eyes opened and the pain finally hit her ten times stronger as the adrenaline left her body. She could hear splashing of water and cries of pain soon followed by sighs of relief.

She couldn't move and every second the pain elevated. All of a sudden hands were tugging and she felt herself being dipped into water, the pain of the fog felt stronger and she cried out in pain.

"Shh it is over soon." She could hear Finnick whisper.

Finnick continued to rub the blisters of her skin until she felt nothing but the slow movements of his hands over her muscles.

Her eyes were still closed as Finnick caressed her face in his hands, rubbing small circles on her cheek in a soothing manor. "You're okay, you're okay." He repeated and Erin opened her eyes slightly.

She looked up to see Finnick staring down at her with dripping wet hair, his eyes showed concered and Erin placed a hand on his cheek. "I'm fine, We're fine." She said softly.

Her eyes widened slightly as she caught side of something in the trees, their animalistic posture told her one thing.

They were out to kill them.
