S I X T Y - T W O:
gorilla see gorilla do
The girl could've sworn she saw a spider crawling through the sewer. She told herself it was a roach and kept walking forward while following the group. Her hands were helping provide light from the electricity that was coming out of it.
"Cisco, take the rest of these flares, light them, drop them as we go. It's our path back," Joe told Cisco. He handed the long-haired boy the flares before spotting the banana. Bibiana and Cisco both found it hilarious when they were packing for the trip. "Give me that banana." Cisco handed it over. "Okay. Stay close."
"Definitely," Barry agreed.
"I'm not going anywhere," Cisco added.
"I think I would die if I even walked two feet away from any of you," Bibiana confessed. Her eyes were glued to the wall for any spiders before she followed the group. Good thing it wasn't following the spiders.
"I can't believe I'm looking for a supernatural gorilla," Joe informed them, while they were walking through another tunnel. "I'm terrified of regular gorillas."
There was the sound of metal clanking that caused Bibiana to jump in the air. It was very frightening because it was one thing when it's on TV and up on the streets. It was another when you're down in the sewers with everything you hate.
"What was that?" Barry asked.
Joe flashed his light over at a rat and it caused Bibiana to relax. She was happy they haven't encountered a spider yet.
"I need all of you to promise me that if we see a spider... Kill it," Bibiana told them. They continued to walk on deeper into the sewers.
"Whoa," Cisco said. "Hey, hey, guys. Look at this." They shined the light on the wall and saw carvings. It appeared to be Grodd trying to spell his name. "Incredible."
"Looks like we're in the right place," Barry stated.
"Somebody wanna tell me what we're looking at here?" Joe asked.
"Other than a highly intelligent, telepathic gorilla learning how to write and draw?" Bibiana questioned.
"Grodd. He's evolving," Barry confirmed. "He's getting smarter."
"Getting smarter. Great," Joe replied.
Bibiana pointed at Grodd's attempt to spell Eiling. "He can spell better than second grade Chang Jr. And he's dyslexia, which is impressive since he learned how to cope with it."
"If I hadn't seen Jurassic Park, I wouldn't be nearly as frightened right now," Cisco said.
"Why couldn't we go against a pre-historic species?" Bibiana asked herself.
"So if he's getting smarter, you think he might be getting bigger too?" Joe asked. The tunnel started to rumble and creek. There could be multiple reasons why that could've happened. "That must've been a truck passing over, right?"
Bibiana heard growling before she saw Cisco falling on the floor. Barry shot the gun once before he started screaming. Then she saw Barry flying off and hitting the ceiling. Both Cisco and Bibiana ran over to Barry and tried to wake him up.
"Hey, Barry!" Bibiana shouted.
"Barry!" Cisco yelled.
"Can I slap him?" Bibiana asked, getting ready to slap her boyfriend.
"We gotta get out of here," Joe told them.
"Barry's out cold," Cisco told Joe. Before they could do anything, Joe was taken away by a scream.
"Joe!" Cisco and Bibiana screamed. Everything was a disaster.
"Cisco, I'm scared," Bibiana admitted while lightly slapping Barry's face.
Cisco turned to look at his friend, who was shaking. He had never seen her like that before. Probably because they were never before put in a situation like a movie.
"It's going to be okay," Cisco said. He was trying to assure himself and Bibiana. "Let's go for backup."
The two of them carried Barry and started to head out. It was going to be horrible.

"You're experiencing a spike of activity in your primary motor cortex," Caitlin explained to Barry. "It's the same thing we saw in Eiling. The images you saw were some kind of psychic attack by Grodd."
"First, Eddie gets taken by the Man in Yellow, and now my dad--" Iris cut herself off. At the sound of Iris voice breaking, caused Bibiana to look down at her hand.
She should've left Cisco with Barry and went after Joe and Grodd. Instead, she did the irresponsible thing and stayed put. Joe could be there with them, forming a new plan on how to take Grodd down.
"Low key wishing Rae was here," Bibiana muttered.
"I put a tracker in the tranq dart you shot Grodd with," Cisco explained. "As soon as it activates--"
"I can't wait for that," Barry cut Cisco off. "I will search every inch of that sewer if I have to."
"And what happens if you find them?" Caitlin asked. Bibiana had to admit that Caitlin had a point. "What happens if Grodd takes over your mind the same way he did with Eiling?"
"C-can you guys build me something?" Barry asked. "Some kind of tech so he can't get into my head?"
Cisco, Bibiana, and Caitlin all glanced at each other. They never thought they would be asked to build something like that. Then again, they never imagined dealing with the things that happened in the past year.
"I don't know," Cisco replied. "Maybe if Doctor Wells were here."
"Unless I've watched enough mind control movies and shows, I have no idea how to build something like that right now," Bibiana admitted.
"Every day you guys figure out a way to help people," Iris stated. "All of the Flash's powers and all this equipment and you can't save Eddie and my dad?"
Iris stared at them with disappointment before she left. Bibiana wanted to help so bad but there were things to consider.
"We'll figure something out," Caitlin assured Barry.
"Fast," Barry replied before he left too.
"Only way we know," Bibiana muttered.
She took a seat on one of the rolling chairs and grabbed a tablet. She missed being a girl in the chair while Barry ran around the city.
"What if we use magnetic resonance to neutralize any foreign neurological stimulus?" Cisco asked. Caitlin and Bibiana looked at each other and got excited.
"That just might work," Bibiana replied, going through the tablet.
"We just got one problem," Caitlin said. They looked at each other and had a mental conversation.
"We would be missing a part," Cisco stated. Soon their stares came onto Bibiana.
"One, we don't know where these items come from," Bibiana pointed out. "Two, I'll quickly head over to Starling City and ask for this part."
"Bibiana, we need it now," Caitlin said.
Bibiana closed her eyes before snapping them back open. She was now making a mental promise to herself. After they save Joe, she was never going to use her second little power again. Quickly, she started to type onto the tablet until the small item appeared. She tossed it to Cisco before they got to work.

"An anti-telepathy strip," Cisco started to explain. "It uses resonance to neutralize any foreign neurological stimulus."
"So it'll protect Barry from being mind-controlled?" Iris asked, walking into the lab.
"It's the plan," Bibiana answered.
"That's the hope," Caitlin replied. "But we have no way of knowing if it actually works."
"It'll work," Barry assured them. There was a beep that caused Cisco and Bibiana to be ready for work.
"The tracker just came online," Cisco said. They headed over to the computer to see where Grodd was. "We have Grodd's location."
Barry quickly changed into his suit before returning back. He was having a friend moment with Iris. Bibiana was having a moment with a keyboard.
"Why didn't you go?" Iris asked Bibiana after Barry left. The half-Asian girl looked at the dark-skinned girl quickly before back towards her computer. "I know you're Electric Storm."
"We only had one anti-telepathy strip. Can't have me there and get in the way," Bibiana replied. She typed something in before moving to another computer. "Plus, if I'm needed. I'll be there quicker than you can say Electric Storm."
"Barry, what's your ETA?" Cisco asked, over the comms.
"All right, I'm in position," Barry replied.
"Wait for my signal," Cisco told Barry. He moved away from the computer that was tracking Barry.
"So the red, that's Barry?" Iris asked.
"Yes," Caitlin replied.
"Has his name and everything," Bibiana added.
"And the blue?" Iris asked. She was double checking that everything that was on the screen was correct.
"Is Grodd," Caitlin answered.
"And the purple must be Bibiana," Iris added.
"What gave it away?" Bibiana asked with humor. Iris knew that Bibiana hid her fear and emotions with humor. It was what made Bibiana, Bibiana.
"Okay, here goes nothing," Cisco said. Bibiana watched as the blue shape started to move. Their plan was working so far. "The steam's working. Grodd's on the move."
"I don't understand. What's the plan?" Iris asked.
"He's maneuvering Grodd into a tunnel 5.3 miles from Barry," Caitlin explained.
"Like they say, 'can't handle the heat, then get out of the kitchen'," Bibiana added, with a smirk. She got off the computer and joined Iris and Caitlin on watching what they could.
"So Barry can do what, exactly?" Iris asked.
"Same thing that he did to Girder," Cisco answered. Everyone turned to look at him. "Supersonic punch, baby. Hit it."
"I recall being badly injured," Bibiana muttered. She turned back around to look at the screen.
Barry was going incredibly fast towards Grodd. The girl took this as her cue to head towards the closest computer. She joined Cisco at the main cortex computers and saw that the punch failed.
"The supersonic punch failed," Cisco informed the rest of the team.
"In my experience, that is bad," Bibiana stated.
"It's okay, Cisco. The headset's working," Barry assured them.
"That is good," Bibiana pointed out, looking at the screen.
"Yes. Okay, uh, try some speed punches on him," Cisco suggested. Yelling followed the suggestion before they heard Barry's frustrated voice.
"This isn't working."
"Okay, what if you try--" Caitlin was cut off when they noticed the lack of oxygen. They also heard gasping and a lot of noise.
"Barry!" Cisco and Bibiana yelled.
"The headset's offline," Caitlin informed the rest of the group.
"Sounded like it impacted with something," Cisco stated.
"I heard crashing and something breaking," Bibiana added. "What if Barry was tossed through a wall?"
She looked at the GPS and noticed that Barry was located in subway tunnels.
"Barry's brain activity is off the charts. Worse than last time," Caitlin explained.
"What's happening to him?" Iris asked.
"Grodd's attacking psychically," Caitlin explained. "He's paralyzed."
"Come on. There's a service train coming," Cisco informed them.
"Do something please," Iris begged.
"I can't stop the train," Cisco replied. They were all looking at the screen before they noticed that Bibiana's tracker wasn't in the lab.
Caitlin was the first one to see that Bibiana's suit was gone.

A scream escaped Bibiana's lips when she came out of the wiring. She had leaped forwarded and pushed Barry out from the tracks. Away from Grodd. The train came and separated them, which gave Bibiana enough time.
She looked Barry dead in the eye and gave him a stare he remembered very well. Love. Bibiana would like to think it was a team effort from Iris's words on the comms and Bibiana's brown eyes that brought Barry back. But what mattered most was that Barry Allen wasn't under the control of Grodd.
What sucked was that Bibiana soon fell on the floor. Images of Grodd's experiments filled her head. They tore through her mind, causing unimaginable pain. She screamed and yelled but they wouldn't go away. Not until Grodd was taken away from another passing train.
Barry grabbed Bibiana and quickly took her over to Joe.
"Joe," Barry said, lightly placing Bibiana on the floor.
"Barry," Joe replied. Bibiana got up from the floor and shook her head. "Please, get me out of here."
"I'm assuming the banana didn't work," Bibiana muttered as she made sure Grodd wasn't returning. She had a killer headache that was similar to a hungover.
"Barry. Bibiana?" Iris asked from over the comms.
"I'm bringing him home," Barry replied. There was a blast of purple electricity that caught his attention since it was aimed directly at his head.
"There was a spider," Bibiana stated with a shiver.

"I said be still," Caitlin told Joe. Bibiana looked up at her phone and lightly smiled. "You have three fractured ribs."
"I'll be fine," Joe assured them.
"If I could, I would give you my healing skills," Bibiana joked.
"Dad, you need to rest," Iris told her father.
"I can't believe Grodd became so violent," Caitlin told Cisco and Bibiana.
"What was his lair like?" Cisco asked. "Did he eat the banana? Does he like King Kong? He's more of a Planet of the Apes Ape?"
"Uh, terrifying. No. And I didn't ask," Joe replied.
"Hmm," Cisco responded.
"You mind if I talk to my daughter alone?" Joe asked.
"Room is all yours," Bibiana replied with a smile. Caitlin, Cisco, and Bibiana walked out of the room. "Maybe one of us should've been kidnapped. Knowing me and my humor, I would've asked after almost dying."
"Didn't you give Girder some humor which ended up with you being badly injured?" Cisco asked.
"As I recall, you became more anti-abuse afterward," Caitlin added.
"I see your point," Bibiana replied. They walked into the treadmill room and saw Barry looking down.
"Maybe it's a good thing we didn't catch Grodd," Caitlin stated. "Where would we put him? I mean, the pipeline isn't exactly equipped to hold a super-intelligent, telepathic gorilla."
"And I don't think a zoo will want an animal that would try to kill or control them," Bibiana added, with a small laugh.
"Joe mentioned that Grodd called Wells, 'Father'," Barry said. "Wells must've ordered Grodd to come after us. It's why Grodd didn't kill Joe. I think Joe was right. Everything Grodd did, it was just to distract us." Barry glanced around and noticed Cisco's face. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"
"Just thinking about this headset," Cisco replied. "It wasn't strong enough. You could've been killed out there, man."
"No, dude, your tech worked," Barry assured Cisco. "And it proved that we don't need Wells. The four of us took on Grodd and rescued Joe. Together, we can do anything."
"Actually, it was the five of us," Caitlin corrected. She was referring to Iris.

There was a laugh that caused Bibiana to smile. She crossed her eyes and stuck out her tongue, which caused Rai to laugh again. Jade soon came running into the living room with a huge grin.
"Room. Amazing," Jade squealed. Bibiana smiled again.
"Barry decorated it," Bibiana informed the three-year-old.
"Yay! Uncle Barry!" Jade yelled.
"Barry isn't your uncle, Jade," Bibiana tried to explain. "He is just my boyfriend at the moment."
"No uncle Barry?" Jade repeated. There was a disappointed look in her eyes. Which turned into puppy eyes.
"But you can still call him uncle Barry," Barry said, walking into the apartment. He carried a bag full of ice cream.
"Yay!" Jade screamed, running towards Barry. He quickly picked her up.
"Are you sure?" Bibiana asked Barry. He gave her a knowing look, which caused her to back down.
"So, I did my research," Barry stated while taking a seat. He sat across from Bibiana on the couch. "Apparently, one-year-old kids can have ice cream."
He took out a tub of ice cream and handed Jade a spoon he had in the bag. Barry gave Bibiana her own spoon before cracking the tub open.
"Don't eat it!" Bibiana yelled at Barry and Jade.
They were ready to eat the ice cream until Bibiana pointed at the clock. The three of them watched as it went from 11:59 to 12. It was officially midnight.
"Call me a bad aunt for letting these children up this late. But I only did it because of you, Jade, are officially four," Bibiana said. "Happy fourth birthday, my gem."
"Can I have ice cream now?" Jade asked.
"Go for it, kid," Barry told the four-year-old. They both started to eat the ice cream. Bibiana shrugged and joined them and occasionally gave Rai some.
"Fwash!" Rai yelled and giggled. Bibiana stopped eating ice cream and started at Barry with widen eyes.
"Jade, has your brother said words before?" Bibiana asked.
"Nope," Jade replied. She continued to eat ice cream and not paying attention to anything else.
"We can't tell your brother that Rai said his first words," Barry told Bibiana. "He will hunt down the Flash." He pointed to himself. "And kill him."
"I have a confession. Rai took his first steps in the cortex," Bibiana admitted. They looked at each other with horror before Bibiana's phone went off. She glanced at it and saw her oldest brother's name. "We're so dead. I think I want to fight Grodd at the moment."
"Bibiana!" Ross yelled into the phone.
"Ross!" Bibiana yelled back.
"Is Jade up? Cause I know you and you don't go to sleep early," Ross told his only sister.
"Yeah," Bibiana replied.
"Can you pass her over?" Ross asked.
"Totally. Hang on," Bibiana said. She handed the phone to Jade. Who left Barry's arms and took off running with the cell phone. "I hope she doesn't mention's anything about what we just talked about."
"She's four now. What can she remember?" Barry asked. His eyes spotted a box under the coffee table. Bibiana saw it and was going to take it away when Barry used his super speed.
"Cheater!" Bibiana yelled. Barry opened up the box and saw pictures of when Bibiana was younger.
"How could you keep this from me?" Barry asked, with a goofy smile.
Bibiana placed Rai right beside her and crossed her arms.
"Well, I haven't exactly had a chance," Bibiana muttered. To her horror, Barry took a picture of one of them and made it his lock screen.
"You'll love me for this in the future," Barry said. He got up and gave her a kiss.
