Ruhani POV
"Wow, eight months ago you could not sleep and now you cannot wake up,"
I muttered in a slow voice and tried to shake him more.
"Okay,"
I replied to the attendee and looked at the sleeping heavy boy beside me.
"Aahil, get up. We will get late,"
I tried to say but still no sign from him listening to my words.
Now, I was not left with any option but to use the trick that I used to use for Haider.
I stepped down from the bed and held the hem of his comforter tightly. In a sudden pull, I pulled it off his body and kept it aside.
"Now, wake up,"
He did not even sigh.
What the hell got into him?
I opened the curtains and looked at him.
"Aahil, come on get up,"
But, he looked so peaceful in his sleep.
I sat back again beside him and leaned in closer to his ear.
I gulped before screaming loudly.
"Aaaahhhhiiiilllllllllllllllllll,"
He shivered all of a sudden and straightened himself in a fraction of the moment.
His face was shocked and scared altogether.
"What happened?"
He looked at me.
"Are we attacked?"
He asked all of a sudden.
I smiled and looked at him.
"No, but a sleeping monster found in our territories,"
He thinned his eyebrows with a sleepy face and lowered his gaze with frustration.
I saw him laying back.
"No, no, no, you cannot sleep again,"
I said and by the time I finished, he was back to the old position.
I sighed and looked at his already closed eyes.
This is Insane.
I left him sleeping there and went to do my morning business. After changing into a fresh pair of clothes and getting ready, I came out of my chamber.
I went to meet my parents.
An attendee told me that they were at the dining hall, so I turned my feet towards it.
I entered the dining hall and looked at them sitting around the table.
"Assalamualaikum, Ammi, abbu,"
I said looking at my father and mother.
"Walaikumassalam,"
They replied and my mother asked me while I was walking towards them.
"We are waiting for so long. What took you long?"
I smiled taking my seat beside Haider and looked at her.
"There is a sleeping monster in my chamber. Who is denying to wake up,"
My father laughed and looked at me.
"Sleeping monster, hahahahaha,"
He laughed even more.
And, my mother shot him a glare.
"What? Sleeping monster, hahhahahahahaa, she called him... A sleeping mon...,"
His laugh vanished at the end and I chuckled.
"Umm, Aahil is a good boy, Ruhani. Do not call him a monster and all,"
My mother started laughing now and looked at me.
"See, a bipolar father who himself is a sleeping monster and laughing on my only son-in-law, who is a thousand times better than him,
I laughed hearing her and my father shot a glare at her.
"Better... Better than me,"
He chuckled devilishly and asked her.
"How is he better than me?"
I laughed looking at them and suddenly my ear alerted hearing the faded noise of footsteps approaching.
My sight looked at Aahil, who entered the dining hall just now. My sight noticed his refreshed and glowing face.
"Assalamualaikum,"
He wished us and we also expected back.
"Walaikumassalam,"
I saw him coming closer to me, taking his seat beside me.
He was looking so handsome in the dark blue colour. He looked at me and suddenly I felt his hand touching mine.
He brought my hand closer to his lips and pecked softly. The motion was so quick that it happened in a fraction of a moment.
My eyes widened with the bold move and I immediately turned to my parents.
My mother was smiling and she looked at my father.
"See, this is how a good husband behaves,"
He turned to look at her.
"Really, after spending more than decades with me, you are realising that I am not a good husband,"
I chuckled and I looked at Aahil who was looking at me from the corner of his eyes.
"I heard you calling me a sleeping monster,"
His voice slows only audible to me.
And, I turned to look at my mother when she spoke back to my father.
"No, but yes, Aahil is better,"
Haider laughed and interrupted.
"What I think is that both are good and I am the best,"
Now, we all looked at him and my father said.
"You are not even married yet,"
He gulped and muttered in a slow voice.
"Hn, to jab koi Kara hi nahi raha to kese karunga shaadi,"
"How could I be married if no one taking interest in my wedding,"
My father thinned his eyebrows and asked.
"What did you say little boy,"
Aahil chuckled.
"He said he wants to get married to Ghazal,"
I laughed now.
"Yeah, Abbujaan, our boy wants a love marriage,"
We all looked at Haider blushing hard and looking at us nervously.
"It is not like that,"
And, my mother slowly interrupted.
"Really, I always knew something is between these two,"
I laughed and Aahil looked at my mother.
"Ammijaan, the sooner the better,"
She laughed and suddenly a known voice interrupted in the hall.
"What is sooner the better?"
I looked at Rehman Bhaijaan and Zeenat Ammi.
"Bhaijaan,"
I screamed with happiness and stood up to run to him.
He collected me in a warm hug and kissed my head.
"Assalamualaikum, Bhaijaan,"
"Walaikumassalam,"
He replied and I asked.
"How are you now?"
I released the hug and looked at myself.
"Very well, what about you?"
He nodded lightly and answered.
"I am good too,"
"Ruhani,"
Zeenat Ammi called and I looked at her.
She hugged me tightly and I wished her too. She patted my shoulder and I closed my eyes with the soothing feeling of motherly touch.
"How are you now?"
She asked and I did not know I turned emotional all of sudden.
Tears collected in my eyes and she released the hug to look at me.
"I am good,"
She kissed my forehead and blessed me.
"May god fulfil all your wishes,"
I chuckled and looked at Aahil meeting Rehman Bhaijaan too.
"Assalamualaikum, Bua,"
"Walaikumassalam,"
She wished him back.
"How are you? Aashiq,"
He smiled lightly and answered back.
"Better,"
"By the way congratulations on new Sultanate and a title,"
Aahil smiled looking at Rehman Bhaijaan and muttered back.
"Thank you, Bhaijaan,"
And, suddenly Rehman Bhaijaan looked at my father.
"Abbujaan, do you know that your son-in-law named the biggest Sultanate to your daughter? Sultanate-e-Ruhani,"
His lips curved into a wide smile and I was shocked.
"What??"
My father asked and moved towards him.
"Really?"
Aahil blushed and I could not believe he literally gifted me the whole Sultanate.
I excused myself a little to digest what I heard. My stomach twisted wrongly and I could not believe it.
No Sultanate was ever named after a woman. Never.
"Ruhani,"
Aahil called me and I turned to look that everyone settled on their seats now.
"What happened?"
I tried to smile a little and replied.
"Nothing,"
I said and he feathered my cheek lightly.
"Come, have some food,"
I nodded and we also sat back.
The breakfast was so good and fulfilling and I enjoyed it to the fullest.
After breakfast, the attendees started loading the stuff on the carts and the convoy of thousands got ready.
Rehman Bhaijaan and Zeenat Ammi were not joining us to Hind because someone needed to be here to look after the four Sultanates if something comes up.
He told us not to worry at all.
Haider told me to talk to Ghazal. Because he did not want to leave her alone.
She was still in shock from what happened to her. Haider said that she did not talk much, keep sitting all day alone, does not eat and show any kind of interest in anything.
"Ghazal,"
I called her slowly walking into her chamber. I also brought Aahil here.
She was sitting on the couch in the corner and I sat beside her.
Her swollen eyes lifted to look at us and she stood up to walk towards Aahil.
"Bhaijaan,"
She broke into cries and he collected her in a hug and patted her head slowly.
"Calm down, Ghazal,"
She broke into more cries and released the hug to look at him.
"How can I calm down seeing my whole family dead?"
He looked at her softly.
"My father, sister and my eight brothers. How can I calm down?"
Her voice was sweet, she was young and hurt.
"Ghazal, neither your father nor your brothers were your family. They all knew that you were locked in the dungeons and they used you against us,"
She broke into more cries and looked at him.
"Just because I was an illegitimate child,"
Aahil inhaled a deep breath and made her sit down on the couch again, he sat on his knees in front of her and looked at her.
"What you did to save them was more than a legitimate child could ever do. For me, you were the only legitimate child Sultan had. But, he paid more value to the dumb legit children than a sweet and caring illegitimate one. His poor fortune. You lost nothing,"
She gulped and exclaimed with a shaky voice.
"But, a family is family,"
Aahil patted her head.
"We are your family too. And, you should think about starting your own family,"
She hiccuped.
"Own family?"
"Yes, Haider really likes you, he cares for you. Perhaps you were so drenched in your loss that you could not see who protected you, who saved you,"
She lowered her gaze and muttered in a slow voice.
"But, it all happened because of him. If he did not keep me tied that night in his tent, maybe father never got angry with me,"
Aahil gulped and made her look at him.
"Rabia spent years with me. Your father knew it and knew that I would never marry her. He never got angry with her. He just used you,"
She gulped and washed her tears off her cheeks.
"I do not know, Bhaijaan,"
Aahil patted her head and exclaimed.
"There is no hurry and I am your family. Whatever you want, I will stand with you. I will take care of you, I will support you, always,"
She gulped.
"Thank you, Bhaijaan,"
He smiled and inhaled a deep breath.
"By the way, we all are going to Hind. I want you to come along with us. You will feel better,"
She turned nervous all of sudden.
"But, Bhaijaan I do not know anyone there,"
He laughed.
"Me neither but I want someone to spend time na. Come on, get up and pack your things, quick,"
She looked at me nervously and I smiled, nodding my head slowly.
"Yes, you should come with us,"
She smiled a little and nodded.
"Okay,"
She said and I stood up.
"Let me help you pack up your things,"
I said and held her hand to make her stand up.
Aahil also smiled lightly and said.
"I am waiting outside for both of you,"
We nodded.
And, he left.
I looked at her and asked her to change into comfortable clothes. As the journey was long and would be tiring.
She went to change and meanwhile I asked her attendees to pack her things.
"Baji,"
She called and I looked at her beautiful, small face. She was so perfect and I did know but I could already see my sister-in-law in her.
"Beautiful,"
I muttered and we both went towards the main entrance where everyone was waiting for us.
My sight saw everything ready and our palanquins too.
"Get seated,"
I looked at Rehman Bhaijaan and I went to hug him again.
"Take care, Bhaijaan,"
He nodded.
"You too,"
I smiled and met Zeenat Ammi again.
After the meeting, I sat in the palanquin with Ghazal.
The men climbed the horses and my mother also sat in her palanquin.
The trumpets blew and finally, we started our journey to the Hind.
Inside of me was screaming so loud to meet my Uncle, aunt and Nandani. I remember I was very young when I visited them once.
I just wanted to meet Nandani.
