Nandani POV
"Got it? Never ever think that again, my little Queen,"
He asked in a slow and calm voice and I silently nodded.
He feathered my chin and muttered.
"Good,"
I gulped and I did not know but I was feeling suddenly more sad and upset about his condition.
Hearing his Maasima, I realised that she was not just telling the half truths about my family but mentally and emotionally using him.
Rudra did not have many friends and big family like me. There were just a few people in his life and for everyone I had seen a different kind of respect and love from his side.
Being his Badi Ma, brothers, his soldier friend or his Maasima.
There was a spark in him which was like that he could burn the whole world if someone tries to touch any of these people.
His trust and love towards them was so pure and deep that it was scaring me somewhere deep down.
I knew how if felt to be broken by him. And, that broken period did not even last for a month and still I felt like dying.
I did not know how would he feel when he would realise the actual truth and real motive of his Maasima and father.
Suddenly, I came out of my thoughts when he gently cupped my neck and brought his lips close to mine. He kissed me softly which lasted just for a moments and made me blink with the eruption of butterflies that happened in my stomach.
"Always remember, sky is your limit, little bird,"
He said and I sucked on my lip the moment his lips touched off my lips.
"You came to me leaving your family. I do not want you to miss them,"
He said and I nodded staring blankly into his eyes.
I did not what to say and just stepped forward to hug him tightly. Pressing my face into his chest, I fisted my hand on the backside of his overcoat and muttered.
"Rudra, I love you so much. I cannot describe that feeling into words. Never ever feel that there is no one to love you. No matter what happen, whatever, I will always love you, always,"
I said and my voice sounded hoarse and he placed his hand on my neck, massaging softly.
He kissed on my hair and asked.
"Are you okay? Nandani,"
I did not know but unknowingly tears collected in my eyes but I nodded.
"Yes,"
He stayed still and slowly moved his fingers in my wet hair.
"Come here,"
He said and released the hug.
Pulling the chair, he sat and held my hand softly making me sit on his thighs. Pulling me closer into a hug, he let me place my face in the hem of neck and I closed my eyes.
He would not trust if I would try to explain. I did not know what would happen when he would know about the truth.
I felt his fingers softly touching my hair and he slowly asked.
"Do you want to meet your family?"
I inhaled a deep breathe and kissed the side of his neck slowly.
I did not answer as this was not the reason I was feeling low now. I did not know but deep down I was feeling that something was wrong, something wrong was about to happen.
Since, the morning I was not liking the air, the environment, there was something different, my heart and brain was not feeling peaceful.
He did not say anything else and kept brushing my hair softly with his fingers. I stayed silent and felt a little dizzy in his embrace.
And, I did not know when I fell asleep like that.
I woke up when I felt my legs and hands frozen. My lashes lazily lifted and I still found myself sitting in his lap. Straightening my head, I looked at him looking back at me.
Inhaling a sharp breath, I straightened myself and noticed that my hair had dried up now.
He looked back at me and leaned in closer to place a gently kiss on my forehead.
Caressing my cheek, he tucked a loose hair strand behind my ear and muttered.
"You are looking beautiful, little butterfly,"
I smiled immediately noticing how frequently he was giving me new names.
Suddenly, my sight noticed the sharp sunlight falling into the chamber through the window and I immediately stood up.
"You must be getting late for the Court meeting, I am sorry,"
I said realising that the King's of different States were in the Kingdom right now as a guest and he should be in the court room for the meeting with them.
"It's alright, Ranvijay is handling everything. I talked to him,"
He said and pulled me back on his thighs.
My cheeks blushed and I asked in a slow voice.
"Devarsa came here?"
He nodded and I immediately felt timid and embarassed like never before.
"He saw us like that?"
I asked and he nodded again.
I felt even more embarassed now and I complained.
"Why did not you wake me up? I was lying with my open hair in your arms. It's not good,"
And, he smirked looking at me.
"Everyone knows that children sleep anywhere and anytime,"
And, I immediately slapped on his chest standing up.
"I am not a child, Rudra,"
And, he pulled me back again.
"Aww, my little angry bird,"
I gritted my teeth and said.
"Stop giving me these stupid names,"
And, he snaked his strong arms around me, pulling me closer to me while I was struggling to stay away.
He leaned in closer to my ear and muttered in a slow and teasing voice.
"Your hair is so beautiful. I will definitely going to play with them while making love to you, little seductress,"
A strong shiver ran down my spine and I blinked feeling sensations running down in my body just with his talks.
And, to make me feel even more sensually tensed, he took my earlobe in his mouth and sucked it softly.
My lips parted to escape an inaudible moan and he asked in a very slow voice.
"You still feeling me right there, little deathnote,"
And, suddenly all the memories of that night blinded my vision in just a moment. I felt slight uneasiness in my core and muttered in a slow voice.
"Ranaji, please, you should be concentrating on the work,"
I placed my hand on his chest to push him back against the chair back.
He looked at me and smiled a little.
"Now you are glowing,"
He said.
I inhaled a sharp breath and closed my eyes to get back to my senses.
"Ranaji, I want to talk to you,"
I said sounding a little professional.
He held my hand and started listening to me.
"I am all ears, Ranisa,"
He said.
"Ranvijay agreed to a political wedding?"
I asked and he gulped, lowering his eyes for a moment with a slight sadness on his face.
"Yes, I tried to negotiate but he agreed,"
He said and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"But, why that King want a political alliance with Ranvijay? How can it benefit him?"
I asked and he lifted his gaze to me while his fingers still playing with mine. He kissed on the back of my hand and replied.
"The foundation of my Rule on Suryagarh is majorly influenced by Ranvijay. He is best scholar of economics, law and social welfare. A King is not a sole person who rules but he is presenter of a group of people that runs a Kingdom. Ranvijay, Agastya, You and a few more are my pillars. An alliance with any one us can benefit the King as well as in terms of finances, security and support. And, majorly the King has seven daughters, so he suggested to marry one of his daughter to Ranvijay, just to make the relationships stronger with Suryagarh,"
He informed and I nodded.
"But, what about his happiness? He agreed to marry without knowing her, without meeting her. What if it will not work?"
I tried to say and he nodded, still playing with my fingers and hand. His long fingers tracing my fingers, drawing unknown figures while his face nodding slowly.
"That's I am worried about too. Ranvijay has a golden heart. He speaks so less, calculatively, he is bad at showing emotions and expects the least from people. I want him to be the happiest person,"
He said and I could not agree more.
"Ofcourse, why do not we fix a meeting to let me meet each other?"
I tried to say and he suddenly shook his face.
"No, political marriages does not work like that. There is no such things in political marriages. They are based on papers. It's just like a transaction. A promise of words is enough to seal a marriage between two. And, after that only marriage happen. Even, the bride and groom are not allowed to see each other before the wedding,"
He informed and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Hnn, yeah I remember now. My mother told me this a long back,"
I said and his face changed a little with the mention of my mother.
"Yes, because she was promised to my father politically. Her brother fixed the alliance in exchange of some resources,"
He finished and I gulped.
Okay, now I pretty much understand why his father was not wrong for him.
"But, Rudra, think from a girl's perspective. She was twenty and your father was in his forties when they were promised for the wedding. Also, she had no clue about it,"
I tried to say and his face stiffened.
"That is wrong. A political alliance is alliance. Once made then made. They cannot be broken. Even, if a man is forties and woman is twenty,"
He said and I inhaled a sharp breath.
"Then, why did not you let me marry your uncle. It was also an alliance. I wanted to sign a peace treaty with Suryagarh with our marriage,"
I said and his hand immediately cupped my neck pulling me closer to him.
He inhaled sharp breath in anger and I muttered.
"You did what my father did to save my mother. If you have done nothing wrong then my parents have also done nothing wrong,"
I said with courage looking sharp into his eyes and he angry looked into my eyes.
"I loved you,"
He said in an angry tone and I replied back.
"My father loves my mother too. Also, your father was already married to fifteen women before that. He just wanted one more to warm his bed,"
I said and his grip tightened around my neck.
"Shut up, Nandani,"
He said in a slow and dangerous tone.
"They were all either political marriages,"
He said and I suddenly chuckled.
"Your father must be a great player of politics. Why do not you marry a hundred woman in name of politics,"
I said with intense emotion and he grittef his teeth with anger.
"Do not dare say another word from your mouth, Nandani,"
I lowered my gaze with his threatening tone and muttered.
"I am sorry but what's wrong is wrong. Your father considered woman like furniture. A symbol of royalty and pleasure. I feel pity on you that when it comes to me your emotions and mindset is just another level and on the side you tried to justify your father's wrongs,"
His grip on my neck tightens and I lifted my gaze up to look at him. He stared blankly at me and leaned in closer to me.
"Why do not you understand, you are special to me,"
And, I inahled a deep breath.
"Every woman is special, Rudra,"
