Ruby pov

I wonder what she's going to do to me.

All around me, Rubies who seem to get it, Rubies who understand, sleep. Occasionally, one mutters a line from work

That's what they dream about. Work.

I wonder when they'll notice I'm sneaking away.

I turn onto my side, and watch the door. Shadows shift, I think nothing of it.

Then.

A face.

A blue haired, one eyed face.

"What are you doing here?"

"Getting you, come on!"

"No, I'm tired. I want to sleep. "

"Ruby! This is important! ...I think we have a snitch. " I gasp.

Sapphire grabs my hand and runs with her apparent super  speed, and we arrive in moments.

Pink Diamond is in tears.

"Who is it?" I ask.

"Look around." She says through tears.

"But, everyone is here except-" I gasp.

"Your Pearl?" Sapphire asks. Pink  nods.

"It's my sister, it has to be."

"What can we do?" I ask.

I've given up hope.

"There's only one thing." Pink says.

"What?" Sapphire asks.

"We need to leave."

"I'm sorry, I think I heard you wrong. Did you just say we need to LEAVE?" She smiles at me.

"Yes, I did."

"BUT NOBODY CAN LEAVE WITHOUT A PASS FROM YELLOW DIAMOND!" She scowls.
"Well, I'm Pink Diamond. If that's not good enough for them, they can pay the price."

"But to make it look realistic we'd need-" Somebody knocks on the door, cutting Sapphire off.

"I want to help."
