Their gazes met that felt like hours. Ruby soon looked away,followed by the Anonymous person. The atmosphere was awkward as they didn't know how to start a conversation,only for one of them to speak out.

"Uh— Hey..." The Anonymous person said while rubbing the back of his head.

"He-ey? What brings you here?" Ruby asked while looking away in discomfort.

"Uhm—Just passing by and saw someone out. You should get inside,its cold out here and who knows how long have you been sitting here." The person answered while staring at her.

"Oh..I see. Thanks for the reminder though,I'm not ready to go inside yet." Ruby responded while hugging herself even tighter.

'Why is he here?' Ruby internally thought.

That's when the person suddenly sat down beside her. She was shock at first since they didn't knew each other that much.

"Mind if I seat beside you then? It would be inappropriate for me to leave a lady in the cold night. Besides,Proms aren't my thing." Ruby gave a second thought to the person's words but only gave out a nod. The silence was deafening that it felt like hours,its only been seconds.

"So.." The anonymous person started,breaking the awkward tension. Ruby turned to face the person beside her.

"I noticed that you were crying, is there a problem?" He asked,while looking at the full moon. Ruby's lips quivered as controlled her tears again.

"J-just feel overwhelmed..That's all." And with that,she cried again. The anonymous person immediately took noticed of this as he cupped her cheeks with the expression of worry.

"Hey,Hey,Hey,What's wrong? Did I say something bad? Its ok if you don't wanna talk about it." He wiped her tears in ease but the obvious blush on his face was something. Ruby didn't seem to notice of this as she's busy crying,so now her vision is a little bit blurry.

Without thinking,Ruby hugged him. The person was surprised at first but soon hugged her back while stroking her hair for more comfort. The girl begun to tell her pain,tightening her hugged on him. The more she tell,the more pissed off the person was that he kept hugging her close. This went on for minutes before Ruby could calm down,then the person then grabbed a handkerchief in his pockets to wipe her tears.

" Shhh..Its ok,Its ok..I'm here Ruby." He said after wiping her tears. He then cupped her face to examine her expression.

"No matter how much you cry, you're still beautiful as always. Its ok,I'm here."

"Thank you X.borg." Soon enough,Ruby felt sleepy. The anonymous man named X.borg let her sleep on his lap while continuing to stroke her hair as he could her soft snores. It made him happy but at the same time,hurt for her.

'You didn't deserve this pain,Sorry for not being here to comfort you in person like this.' He internally said while looking at her sleepy form. Question is,'Who is X.borg to Ruby's life?'

***Flashback***

Back when he was in middle school,he encountered Kimmy and Claude. It didn't take long before they became a dynamic trio. They would occasionally do something troublesome that police would be involve, only for them to succeed on not getting caught.

It was a good year for him,except for a fact that he had to suffer from Claude and Kimmy's love life,making him a third wheeler. Though it didn't bother him that much,if only they could stop making out like there's no tomorrow. Sometimes,he would walk alone the school or even go to the library to read books about mechanics,his specialty. He then went to the rooftop to sleep,since he lost his appetite from Kimmy and Claude—thanks a lot. His sleepy time was soon interrupted when he heard a bunch of laughs that made him groan in annoyance,standing up and approached where the sounds are coming from. He was going to yell at them but instead hid behind a wall.

At the rooftop with him is a group of three having fun,one with Auburn hair,one with blonde while the other one with silver hair. Instead of leaving,he stayed when his eyes are strayed on a certain blonde. Only to be interrupted by a call that he quickly ran away from the scene. After going far away,he answered the call.

"What?" He asked with full annoyance.

"Dude Chill,Its only me Claude. Where are you?"

"Just went to the rooftop to sleep after I lost my appetite on you and Kimmy making out. Geez,its like one of you is going to die early."

"Ouch,No need to point that out man. Anyways,Classes are about to start man,just wanted to point that out." With that,Claude dropped the call. X.borg looked back,before walking to his class but his mind is full of the certain blonde.

After that incident,the male started to encounter more of the blonde and for some reason,he started to watch her. He even know her name is Ruby and was immediately in 'aww' at how much it suits her,he knew her friend's name which are Guinevere and Dyrroth. The more he watched,the more he fell in love that it made his friends to be concerned as he would leave their group occasionally. Only to for them to find him sitting alone at the back of the school with a sad expression,when asked about it,he responded with a different reason since he didn't want them to know about his crush having a relationship with Dyrroth. Yes,he had a crush on her. He even learned about their past relationship ,so it felt like someone bashed a hammer on him. He did accepted that and just move on.

After Middle school,X.borg and his friends are finally in Highschool as they would commit more troublesome moments there. He eventually forgot about his crush on Ruby,even though the pain is still lingers around. For the past few days,the trio were known to be troublemakers of the school and even feared by most of the students. Heck,even their President Estes tried to stop them but failed. The only thing that's stopping them from their acts is none other than Professor Gord and some of the teachers,Professor Aurora is an exception as she would encourage them in their act— even helping them escape from detention.

Unfortunately,during the past few days,he eventually encountered the person whom he had moved on.

'Ruby?' He internally said as his heart begun to beat. Before he could approach her—he stopped and watched as Ruby went to a classroom to meet up with a male. He was dumbfounded when she confessed to him,only receive humiliation that made her run and cry. At first he was mad but confused at the same time.

'What happened between her and his past boyfriend?' Before he could investigate,he decided to take care of a certain male who humiliated her and was seen the next day with 3 knock out teeth and a broken arm.

X.borg finally investigated about Ruby's past that made him feel bad for her,he wanted to do something about it but where should he start. Her boyfriend is dead,he knows nothing much about the disappearance of her Uncle Roger,only known for a fact he's the only family she had,besides her friends and so much more.

"Fuck it." He said while going to the library from the computer section.

He eventually got no info as he bit his finger after trying so hard. It was like a cold case,Roger was reported missing for the past 5 years and still none. X.borg felt like giving up,so he had to go back to see how Ruby's doing—only for his anger to rise again.

X.borg witnessed Ruby confess again from other males,only for them to reject her and humiliate her—resulting them to have a lot of bruises the next day,cause by X.borg himself. He even beat up Granger after rejecting Ruby from a very romantic scenery,after seeing her cry and run away. He knew that Granger had a crush on Ruby,even if it hurt him but he wanted to see his crush smile or have at least a little bit of happiness on her life. The beating stopped when his girlfriend Guinevere stepped in. After a lot of convincing and talks,they've reached a compromise.

He was disgusted by some people who spread out false rumours about Ruby and how they treated her like dirt. That's another reason why most of the students fear him and his friends,it was mostly X.borg who they were afraid of and the causes of the beaten up students on some areas of the school. They even found him beating up an almost critical girl in the boy's bathroom,bruises all over her body,her face got disfigured and 3 of her teeth got knocked off. He was going to be expelled but with the help of Ms. Aurora, Guinevere and her friends,the girl got expelled instead.

When prom was about to start,Guinevere tried to get both Granger and X.borg to ask Ruby to be their prom date. This auburn student even made a bet on who would ask the gem first,resulting in both Lost after they saw Popol asked her out instead. Needless to say,The Baroque gave the two a beating of their life.

Now that it was Prom night,X.borg got all suited out. He didn't ask anyone out but just stick with Kimmy and Claude. He sat down on a table to only drink and just watch the "losers" interact with each other.

For a few minutes,the doors opened and in comes what he didn't expect to see. Behind Guinevere and Granger,then beside Popol and Kuppa,revealed an elegant girl dressed in a midnight dress with a midnight roses flower eyepatch. He had to blink a couple of times while asking to himself if he was drunk or something—he clearly isn't.

X.borg just watched Ruby from afar,controlling himself to try and not beat the crap out of Claude for talking to his gem. Talk about a possessive one,but was relieved when Guinevere did the job. When it was time for the dance,Popol asked Ruby out on the dance floor—made him sad but did have a great show,seeing her dance gracefully.

After the dance,He saw Ruby step out of the school. Without thinking,he went to check it out and watched the whole scenario played out between her and Granger. His heart ache when they kissed but soon knew that it was just their last closure,he even glared at the male for daring to take her again.

'Aw Hell no!'

After Granger left,He watched as Ruby went behind to school and there she was—crying and putting out her emotions. Soon enough,it was now his time to shine and finally be by her side.

After recalling those flashbacks,he leaned to give Ruby a kiss on the head. For a few minutes,the girl woke up and was flustered as she saw what's happening now.

"I-..I'm sorry if I sleep just slept on your lap X.borg." The maiden said while covering her face,instead of saying something back—she received a pat on the head.

"No worries Rubs,You need it anyways after all those crying. The Full moon is quite beautiful isn't it?" X.borg said while looking at the full moon,Ruby followed his gaze and was soon enamoured too.

"Yeah..." Ruby said faintly while going back to sleep on his lap. She could feel her eye closing in tiredness, before she could fall asleep again, she looked at the beautiful moon again.

"Wake me up for a least a 10 minutes.." With that, she drifted again to sleep. X.borg gave a smile as he stroke the maiden's hair again.

"Its ok Rubs, I'm here. And I promise to always love you, I may not be first nor second, but as long as I still get a chance."

While Ruby is sleeping, the maiden started to think about what was happening.

'Is this really X.borg?'

'I'm pretty sure that's him, he's so caring...?'

'But why?'

'Why does it feel so comfy?' She had a lot of questions in her head, that she started to recall some events.

Truth be told, Ruby never knew X.borg nor his friends. She only knew them from the gossips of the students and the stuff that he did that's known to everyone. Ruby wasn't honestly terrified, since she thought was cliche. That's when something clicked on her mind.

***Flashback***

She was baffled when she learned about the news of the students who got beaten up by him, which was weird cause those students would only target at her. There was even a time when she encountered him and his friends, it was the time she when was eating alone at the rooftop cause Guinevere was absent at that time. Of course, when someone is alone, bullies would appear. She defended herself while trying to not give in into their taunts, no matter how offensive it was—she held it in. This made them annoyed and pissed off as they started to become violent, she still didn't give in. They continued to beat her up till someone arrived.

"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" A tomboyish voice called out to them. Quickly, the bullies ran away, leaving Ruby on the ground with a numb expression.

"Hey Girl? Are you alright?!" The person with a tomboyish voice asked. Ruby didn't give any response as she immediately fainted.

"OH MY MOONTON! WE HAVE TO TAKE HER TO THE NURSE!" The person yelled while carrying her bridal style, she could hear footsteps but won't bother to look since she's already tired.

She suddenly woke up to see herself on bed, with bandages around her. She started to look around her surroundings, only to see another blonde woman.

"Ah! I see that you're awake now. Darling, Do you remember what happened to you?"

"Ms. Rafaela? I only know a little but I want to ask...umm...How did I get here?" She tried to recall the memory of it but gave nothing, only a headache as Rafaela had to give her some pain killers.

"Well...Darling, Kimmy, Claude and X.borg brought you here. Make sure to get some more rest, they'll come back to give you something."

"N-No..No..I needed to go back to class cause its Ms. Aurora's class." She got up but the nurse didn't let her.

"No,No,No! You should lay in bed, don't worry about those. I've already contacted the teachers for this, you poor soul. How could they do this to you?" Rafaela gave her a sympathy look while giving her a pat on the head, trying to comfort the little blonde. That's when the 3 finally arrived, especially one Bluenette who just slammed the door open, very hard.

"Geez man, Chill. The door didn't do anything to you." Claude said as he caught up, while Kimmy arrived for a few seconds.

"Whatever." X.borg rolled his eyes as he approached Ruby, instantly giving her a bag.

"Here, we bought this for you." Ok, she wasn't expecting that. As she shyly accepted the bag, she could see the male having a small blush on his cheek while taking a good close-up on his face. He definitely look like the cliche bad boy type.

"Umm..Thank you for..Uh—Saving me." She said while shyly hiding her face, using the bag. But as she put away the bag, she squeaked in fear when a woman with blonde hair was looking at her, their face were very close to each other for only an inch or two.

The female blonde blinked in surprised but immediately squealed with joy.

"KIIIEEE! YOU'RE SO CUTE! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?! FOR ME, ITS KIMMY! DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES? WELL, I LOVE TO INVENT COOLS THINGS, IF YOU REQUEST SOMETHING THAT YOU NEED, I'LL GLA—" Before the female named Kimmy was going to finish her bombardments, she was yanked away from the back of her shirt then got yeeted away into Claude's hands.

"Cool it Flatty, you're scaring her." X.borg said while giving glare. Kimmy quickly got off Claude's arms, she was glaring back.

"Fuck off Petunia." They heard a cough, as everyone turned their heads to see Ms.Rafaela, glaring at them.

"No such Profanities in this room." Kimmy apologized as Rafaela left the room, since she was called by the principal. With the 4 left inside, the 3 friends gave their attention to Ruby— who's even scared at the moment.

"Who did this?" Claude asked while deciding to seat at her bed side.

"Obviously Bullies but I wonder, Why would they harm such a cutie like you?" Kimmy said while seating at the space on her bedside.

"Nothing." Ruby answered while looking at the bag.

"For what I recall, Your name is Ruby right?" The maiden gave out a nod to Claude's question.

"Are you the so-called "Slut"?" Claude asked again, this time— Ruby went silent.

"Oh.." That was all she could muster, her lips quivered. She couldn't think of an answer nor even open her mouth, her throat is dry and even turning paler by the second.

"That's obviously a false rumour." Suddenly, X.borg started to talk. The 3 turned to look at him in surprised. The male took noticed of this then gave off a scoff.

"What? I'm only telling the truth. You guys should be smart enough to know, especially when you two already witness what happened on the rooftop." X.borg rolled his eyes while looking away with his arms crossed together.

"Riiiiight...Uhhh....What happened when I was unconscious?" Ruby asked but can't help but feel awkward.

"Oh that..Don't worry, we took care of it. Well..Our Buddy X.borg did most of it and it was wild. I've never seen him this violent." Claude laughed a little, to think that it was a half-joke.

"Won't you get in trouble for that? You didn't have to do all those." The little maiden said.

"Nah we won't, don't worry about it." Kimmy reassured her while giving her a pat on the head.

After the incident, The one's who bullied Ruby where expelled from the school. Their parents were in disbelief at their children's antics, they forced them to apologies to her for their actions. They even persisted on paying for her compensation, like her medical fees and scholarship. Not only that, whenever Ruby's alone, she would always have company— mostly X.borg was doing the job. He would glare at anyone that he knows who is suspicious and if they tried to outsmart him, well...Its curtains for them.

To her, it wasn't needed and felt uncomfortable but at the same time, felt warm. It was like, feeling wanted and very caring so she didn't say anything about it and just went on. Things went nice for her, well..Except the same gossips and others trying to give her pain again— though sometimes it would backfire.

Ruby recalled some of the memories of the past, some made her overwhelmed while others made her happy. She woke up and could smell the male's intoxicating cologne and a pair of eyes looking at her. She could feel a hand stroking her head, very lovingly and tender.

"Sleep well Ruby?" X.borg asked with a genuine smile.

'Huh? Did he just call me by my name? And is that his genuine smile?' Ruby thought while processing if it was real or not. Normally, he would tease or call her 'Short-stack', 'Little Girl' or 'Rubs'. And when he smiles, it was more like a maniacal smile and never good.

"Uh—..Y-yeah..." She then got up while dusting her dress.

"Anyways, Shall we go?" She asked while averting her gaze on the male. She could see from the corner of her eye that he already stood up.

"Its your choice Ruby." 'There it is again, He called me by my name', Ruby internally said. She was about to speak but was interrupted when a loud music is being played. The two looked at each other and for some unknown moment, it went slow motion. They stared at each for some time, till both of them broke eye contact. Ruby was blushing madly while X.borg felt awkward, rubbing the back of his neck. He looked at the maiden and immediately thought of an idea.

"Could you give me a moment? I'll just go get something inside." Ruby gave off a nod but still wasn't looking to his direction. She could hear his footsteps fading, meaning that she's all alone for now. It didn't take long before he arrived that made the maiden baffled. The male before was wearing a wrinkled white top while his tie is loosen but is now wearing a complete blue suit, plus his hair was fixed and styled. He approached the maiden who has her mouth open, probably shocked to see him in this get-up. It was cute that he gave off a little chuckle. He brought her back to reality when he pinched her cheeks lightly. Ruby blinked a few times before looking up to face him.

"How about we just stay, instead of joining those losers?" He reached out his hand infront of her. Ruby immediately knew what he meant and gave off a small laugh while accepting his hand. X.borg smiled, they took a small walk as his other hand went to her waist while Ruby's other hand grabbed unto his shoulder. Both of them did a slow waltz. The more they stayed like this, their heartbeats started to race even faster. For X.borg, he couldn't take it anymore. He made Ruby do a spin before locking his arms around her, he crashed his lips unto hers. Ruby was stunned at first but soon relaxed and kissed him back, she could feel the meotions that his pouring and she's just returning it back.

After a few minutes, they both let go and were gasping a little for air.

"I'm sorry Ruby but I need to confess something to you..." And with that, he confessed, pouring out all his emotions. Ruby had a little bit of doubt but immediately threw it away after knowing everything he said were true. After the confession, X.borg awaited for her reponse, the silence was making him anxious but left to confusing when he found her already hugging him.

"I love you too X.borg." The male smiled. Once again, both of them faced each other and slowly moved their faces together, their lips touched once again.

Unbeknownst to both them, two people appeared from the bushes. The one had an aching expression while the other one comforted them.

"Let's go Granger." Guinevere said while taking his hand. The male didn't say anything and started to look at the two before facing his girlfriend.

'We may not be together but I'm glad that there's someone out there for you. I still love you Ruby, so be happy.' And with that, they left the scene.
