Timeskip to Ruby and Yang hanging out with Qrow

Ruby's POV
Me and Yang were playing video games with Uncle Qrow. He's so awesome to be around he's been telling us stories about missions he's been on since we last saw him. I remembered I needed to thank Qrow for saving YN years ago. He just finished a story so I thought I would start the conversation "By the way Uncle Qrow I wanted to thank you for saving YN when you met him" I said

"Wait YN knows uncle Qrow?" Yang asked

"Yeah Qrow can explain if he wants" I said

"So halfpint told you about that huh? I guess he really trusts you." Qrow said

"Halfpint?" Yang said confused

"It's Qrow's nickname for YN"

"And what's the nickname you have for him~" Yang cooed and I blushed

It then hit me I haven't told uncle Qrow about me and YN's relationship ""that's gonna be so embarrassing" I thought "There's no need to thank me I just found a kid bleeding out in a ditch and did my job" Qrow said

I turned to Yang "YN wouldn't be alive if it weren't for Uncle Qrow" I said hugging him

I let go of him and it was silent for a while "So hows the halfpint treating you two?" He asked

Yang looked at me with a sultry look and I blushed "He treats one of us very good~" she cooed

"Shut up" I said leaning to Yang telling her trying to be quiet enough so Qrow didn't hear but with enough force to make her stop

"What do you mean?" Qrow asked

"Well-" I covered Yang's mouth before she could continue

"He's good he treats the team nice!" I said blushing a bit

At this point it was very apparent that something was up "You two are acting strange and not the usual strange this is weirder" He said

"N-No it's nothing!" I said blushing more

Yang gave Qrow a nod and then got in front of me. They then started to stare creepily at me. This is something they used to do all the time and I don't know why but it would always get me to say what I was hiding. I tried to avoid eye contact but I couldn't. I bit my lower lip in an attempt to keep my mouth closed but it didn't work "Me and YN are dating!" I blurted out quickly

Yang had a content smile and sat beside me and I punched her. Qrow just chuckled "Awww~ little Ruby's growing up" He cooed

I was worried he would either be mad about it or tease me about it neither were a good option. "They grow up so fast~" Yang cooed pulling me into a hug despite my best efforts to get her not to

"So how long has it been?" Qrow asked

I was a stuttering mess so Yang answered his questions for me "Since the end of first semester"

"Wow that's quicker that Tai and... Nevermind" he said probably remembering not to mention Yang's real mom while she's in the room.

"Sooo uhhh Is he good to her?" Qrow asked trying to break the tension

"Oh uh from what I can tell he's really good to Ruby so yeah"

"That's good to hear" he said

There were a few moments of silence then Qrow asked "So why halfpint, Ruby?"

"What?" I asked

"Why did you chose him?"

"W-Well I don't really know how to explain it. H-He makes me feel things I never imagined. He's so sweet and thoughtful and funny and caring. H-He is better to me than everyone else that isn't my family. And he was like that before we started dating" I said as my blush grew as I kept talking and I was fidgeting with the locket he gave me

Qrow chuckled which worried me but he didn't ask anymore questions

A few minutes of playing later and Qrow starting another story and a bit into the story YN walked in with Maple by his side

YN's POV
Me and Maple were walking around Beacon casually. I told her stories of when we were kids and though she was hesitant to, told me some stories of The White Fang. I questioned her a bit more about her crush on Weiss but not in a teasing way. Most of the time. We decided to meet up with Ruby and Qrow. I assumed they were at the dorm so we checked there first. I walked in and saw Ruby, Yang and Qrow playing a video game I played with Yang on the day off I told her about my crush on Ruby. "My turn!" Yang said pushing Ruby away as Ruby lost the match

Before the match started Qrow noticed me "Oh hey halfpint care to join us?" He asked and Maple giggled when he called me halfpint

"And this must be Maple" he said looking at her

"Yes I am YN has told me a lot about you" she said

"He went through a lot to get to you so I'm glad to see he succeeded" Qrow said

I smiled at her and took a seat beside Ruby. I was going to hold her hand but remembered Qrow is in the room and doesn't know about us yet so I didn't. "Now where was I?" Qrow said

"You were telling us about your last mission" Ruby said excitedly

"Oh yeah. I come across a small village in a swamp near mystral. Right off the bat I knew something wasn't right" Qrow narrated

"What were you doing there?" Ruby asked enthralled by the story

It feels like I'm getting to see that childhood side of Ruby Yang talks about. The one that is enthralled by story's of adventure "I was looking for information. Tired from battling Grimm along the way I decided to stop at the nearby inn. The place was crawling with lowlifes, thugs, even some huntsman I could only assume were hired by less than reputable people for less than reputable reasons. And that's when it happened." Qrow continued

"What happened?" Yang asked concerned

"I was defeated! By the mere sight of the inn keepers skirt length" Qrow said

I facepalmed and Yang threw a pillow at Qrow "You are the worst!" She yelled

He looked back to me, Maple and Ruby and we all laughed "Sooo Uncle Qrow did you get in trouble with Ozpin" Ruby asked

"Nah, me and Oz go way back. We're cool"

"Cool for an old guy" Yang said

"Not funny" Qrow said

"I beg to differ" I snickered

"Hey So What are you doing here anyway. Dad said you would be off on a mission for like. Ever" Ruby said

"Well a professional huntsman like myself is supposed to get results as quickly as possible" Qrow said

"Yeah I get that we're pretty much pros too" Ruby boasted

"Oh yeah? Really?"

"Psssh Yeah. Read the news some time. We totally saved Vale once or twice" Yang boasted as well

"Oh really? I heard that Vale suffered a Grimm attack after you almost stopped a train" Qrow said

Qrow beat Yang in the video game then leaned over to her "But they don't give out medals for almost" Qrow said

"They do and it's called silver!" Ruby pointed out

"Well we helped take down Roman Torchwick. He's locked up in Ironwoods ship and crime has gone down ever since. That's basically a bounty mission" Yang said

"Sure you may be actin like huntresses but you're not thinking like them. You really think a few girls and there friends could end all crime in a kingdom" Qrow said

"Well I did before you said that" Ruby said

"Violence hasn't dropped since you nabbed Torchwick. It's stopped. Completely. No White Fang activity anywhere in the city. You cut the head off of a King Taijitu but now the second head is calling the shots. That's what Ironwood can't get through that thick metal head of his" Qrow said

"You know the General?" I asked

"Hey I know everybody to some extend. Don't forget I came from the coolest team to ever graduate Beacon" Qrow then pulled out a picture

"Team STRQ" as he showed a picture of Ruby and Yang's dad, Ruby's mom, What I assume is Yang's real mom and Qrow

"That's when I met your parents. We were pretty well known back in the day."

"Well known for crummy fashion sense" Ruby teased

"Hey we looked good" Qrow said

"Ruby I don't think you and your battle skirt have any room to talk" I joked

"Hey I look good" she pouted while mimicking what her Uncle said

I chuckled "God dammit I want to kiss her. But Qrow doesn't know and he will probably kill me if he finds out" "Well I can definitely say I have more inappropriate stories to back up my claim then you do" Qrow said

He then pulled the picture away "But I'll save those for when you're older." Qrow said as Ruby curled up in a ball being grossed out

"Well I gotta head out but halfpint you mind walking with me for a bit?"

"Sure" I said as we walked out

We walked in silence for a bit before Qrow spoke "So Ruby huh?" He said smirking

"W-What do you mean?" I asked nervously

"Don't even try and hide it YN Ruby already told me you too are dating" Qrow said

"A-Are y-you mad?" I asked

"Nah not unless you hurt her"

"I wouldn't hurt her. I'd feel way too guilty about hurting someone so nice"

"That's good to hear. But just in case you hurt her I want you to know that I will fucking kill you got it!"

"Yes sir"

He chuckled "Good. So why Ruby?" He asked

I gave him a confused look "Like why date Ruby?"

"Well she's the most amazing woman I've ever met. S-She's really nice and c-cute and I sympathize with her social awkwardness. There's never a dull moment around her and I love that." I said blushing

He smirked at me "That's all I needed to hear. You can go back to the dorm that's all I wanted to talk about" Qrow said

Timeskip to Yang and Weiss vs Flynt and Neon
Me, Ruby, Blake and Maple were all watching Yang and Weiss get ready to fight two people. A person who looks closer to a musician than a huntsman and a girl covered in colour constantly talking to Yang which was making her angrier and angrier "here we go again" Ruby said

The fight went on. Weiss got eliminated by trying to sacrifice herself to take Flynt out but he was still in by 1 aura percent before it went into the red. Maple was incredibly worried after Weiss got hit with the flame geyser "Don't worry Maple. Weiss is a strong girl" I reassured

Yang then went one woman army on the two of them and won. She then ran to Weiss. We all ran down to the arena and check if Weiss was ok. Weiss was covered in ash and coughing. "Weiss are you ok?!" Maple asked in a panic

"Yeah Maple I'll be fine" Weiss said before coughing

"Good job you two" Blake said

"Yeah!" Ruby said

"You guys were great" I said helping Maple help Weiss up
