YN's POV
I was currently holding hands with Ruby as she was taking me to a Cliffside. We were going to do something very important to Ruby. As we walked up to a single grave sat on the cliffside that had the name "Summer Rose" Engraved on it. Ruby let go of my hand and spoke "Hey mom sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been. Well things have been busy. Oh! Dads here to. he's you know Dad. He's still teaching at Signal but he told me he's going to be going on some missions soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. I miss you too" I saw Ruby get a little sad so I placed my hand on her shoulder and smiled when she turned to look at me

She turned back to the grave "Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet so that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. I keep her inline. That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter you can tell she's learned a lot from dad. So are Weiss, Blake and YN. Oh! They're my team mates and YN is a lot more than just a teammate he's actually here too" as she placed her hand on my hand that was still on her shoulder

"Hi Mrs. Rose I know we've never talked before but Ruby talks about you enough to the point where I feel like I already know you" I said as Ruby giggled

"Your daughters an amazing woman. I mean Yang is too but I love Ruby. I'm sure you would be proud of the leader she's grown into" I said as Ruby blushed

"Anyways I've made a bunch of new friends and I've met some let's say odd teachers. Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys too it's just like they say Like Mother Like Daughter... I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early but eh you know he'll tell me one day, you know how he is. The more I get to know him the more he sounds like uncle Qrow" we then heard the familiar bark of Zwei

"Oh! Looks like dads back. I gotta go he's dropping me off at Beacon before the tournament match before he leaves on his next mission. Wish me luck!" She said putting her red hood up

As we walked up to Zwei and Ruby's father but Ruby stopped and turned back to Summers grave "It was good to talk" She said

We then walked the rest of the way to Zwei and Ruby's father "H-Hello M-Mr X-Xiao Long" I said nervously stuttering

"I'm YN LN"

"Oh so your the boy Ruby's been going on about?"

"Y-Yes S-Sir" I said. God it feels like explaining our relationship to the team all over again except a million times more nerve raking

"Alright you can drop the formal stuff just call me Taiyang or Tai for short if we get along" he said extending his hand

I shook his hand "A-Alright it's nice to meet you Taiyang" I said

"So do you really care about Ruby?" He asked in a slightly more serious voice

"More than anything" I plainly stated

He smirked "Would you lay down your life for her?" He asked

I nodded "Without a second thought"

He chuckled "You'll make a great son-in-law" he said walking away as both mine and Ruby's faces turned as red as possible

"Dad!?" Ruby exclaimed in embarrassment as I looked at the floor

"That actually sounds kinda nice" I thought smiling but still blushing and looking at the ground as I followed Ruby

Timeskip to after team RWBY's fight against team ABRN (AN:That's how I'm assuming it's spelled)
Me and Maple we're watching in the stands watching Team RWBY beat the other team. I wasn't allowed to participate because Team RWBY was technically a team of 5 so me and Maple were watching. It was really interesting and I watched Ruby through out the entire match and Maple was swapping between the different members of RWBY but mainly watching Weiss. She has gotten the closest with Weiss since Ozpin let her stay with us. I was impressed at how she was able to actually keep a conversation with Weiss despite there upbringings actively going against each other. The match ended when Weiss made a slide for Yang and Yang slid across it holding Blake's grapple Ruby the shot Blake at the three remaining members of Team ABRN and Blake swung Yang into then and Yang punch all three of them at the same time sending them into the wall. Me and Maple stood up and cheered then made our way to the area we found the team and walked up behind them. I grabbed Ruby from behind around the waist and lifted her up "Congrats Ruby!"

"YN! Put me down! I don't want you and Yang picking me up all the time it's embarrassing!" She exclaimed in embarrassment

I placed her on the ground "Sorry Ruby"

"Congrats team" I said

"That was very impressive" Maple said

We began walking through the fairground "Is anyone else starving" Ruby said slouching

"I may have worked up an apatite" Blake said as her stomach growled

"Gee if only there was some place on campus to get food around here...Oh wait" Weiss said

"It's ok Weiss I forget about the fairgrounds too" Ruby said putting a hand on Weiss' shoulder

"I was being facetious!" Weiss said

"Wha! Well if you were hungry why didn't you just say so" Ruby said waving her arms

"Come on I know just the place" Yang said

We followed Yang and Weiss stayed back for a second "You coming Weiss?" Maple asked

Weiss angrily put her scroll back in her pocket and walk up to us "Yes I'm coming"

Maple was about to ask what that was about but I placed my hand over her mouth and whispered in her ear "Best to not press her on these things at least not while in public" I said and she nodded

"Hey! Might be hard to eat without this" we all turned around to see Emerald one of Ruby's friends

Ruby quickly check all of her pockets while repeatedly muttering no and Emerald chuckled "Good to see you Ruby"

"Oh! Hi Emerald thank you. Girl pockets are the worst" Ruby said

"Yeah I'll take it then" I said slipping Ruby's wallet into my pocket

"Sup Em?" Yang asked

"Just got back from the stadium after watching your amazing fight you guys were great" Emerald said

Ruby blushed "Oh stop~" I smirked and rolled my eyes

"I heard your team progressed to the next round too" Blake said

"I feel like we never see your other teammates" Weiss commented

"How'd they do?" Yang asked

"They did" Emerald looked off into the distance "Really well"

"That's great why don't we all go out and get some victory food together" Ruby asked

"Oh! Gosh that's so nice of you but my team are all kinda introverted" She said as we all looked to her teammate smelling boots

"Really socially awkward" She said

"Shhh yeahhhh I get that" Yang said

"So Yeah looks like Merc and I are going to be moving onto the doubles round what about you guys?" Emerald said

"Well as the leader of this team I thought long and hard about this decision" Ruby said

"We put it to a vote" Weiss interrupted

"Uh Uh Yes but I decided hat we should put it to a vote" Ruby stuttered

"We votes for Weiss and Yang" Blake said

"I will happily represent Team RWBY" Weiss said

"Yeah! We're gonna kick some butt" Yang said

Emerald chuckled "Well if Mercury and I see you down the line don't think we'll go easy on ya" She said

"Wouldn't have it any other way" Yang said crossing her arms

"Well I'm off to watch some more fights" Emerald said walking away

"Have fun" Ruby said waving

I looked at Maple and she looked pretty uneasy "everything ok sis?" I asked

"I feel like I recognize those two from somewhere" She said

"It's probably nothing" She said

We continued to follow Yang to a noodle stand as we all sat down. "I'll have the regular" Yang said and a large bowl of noodles slid in front of her

"Oooo I'll have the same" Ruby said

"Same here" I said as the noodles were slid I front of us

"Yeah me too" Maple said

"Do you have anything with a low salt?" The same exact bowl was slid in front of Weiss

"Umm ok"

Blake nodded at the man and he dashed into his small kitchen we could hear chopping a grilling sounds and seconds later a bowl of fish was slid in front of Blake as her eyes lit up. Weiss then pulled out her credit card and handed it Weiss "Awwww Weiss what's the occasion?" Yang asked

"Consider it Thanks for sending me to the doubles round" She said proudly before the card was ninja star thrown into the wooden counter

The cash register said denied and the man took away Blake's fish "What?! How could my card be declined. I was barely into my monthly allowance" Weiss poured

"Maybe I could help?" Phyrra said walking up with the rest of Team JNPR

"Phyrra!" Ruby exclaimed

"Aww you don't have to" Yang said

"But she could!" Blake quickly retorted

"Well I think you all earned it after that battle" Phyrra said

"Mind if we join you?" Jaune asked

"Sure" Ruby said and Phyrra payed and Blake's fish was returned to her and she hugged the bowl

"By the way this is my sister Maple. Maple this is Team JNPR" I said

"Hi" Maple said

"Hello I'm Phyrra Nikos"

"I'm Jaune Arc short sweet rolls of the tongue ladies love it" he winked at Maple and she nervously laughed and rolled her eyes

"Nora!" She said quickly lifting her head from her bowl before diving back into her food

"And I'm Lie Ren"

We all finished our food and it was delicious and satisfying. I looked over at Ruby "I don't understand you had like 25 cookies before the fight and then this. I-How does a girl your size eat so much?" I asked extremely confused

She giggled "you assume 25 cookies is my max"

I started laughing with Ruby and I don't know why. I should be super concerned for her well being right now but we're both laughing about it

"Are you sure it's fine to eat before a fight" Ren asked

"Of course It will give us energy" Phyrra said a Nora let out a earthquake level burp

"Uhhhhh if I barf I'm blaming you" Jaune said with his head resting on the counter

"Ooo aim it at the enemy!" Nora said

"Nora that's disgusting but if you feel inclined" Ren said

"Got it" Jaune said

"Well we should be off" Phyrra said

"So you guys think you're ready?" Ruby asked

"Of course. We have a world renowned fighter on our team, what's basically a ninja, I can bench five of me, ...Jaune, We've trained all year, Our weapons are awesome, Glynda barely yells at us anymore and Uhhhh J-Jaune" Nora said

"You gonna take that?" I asked

"She's not wrong" Jaune weakly said

"I'm kidding, he knows I'm kidding. Don't be so nervous the worst that could happen is we lose, then it's just a few more years of walking around school with everyone knowing we're failures, our friends will slowly abandon us to preserve there social status, we won't be able to show our faces in class, no one will sit with us in the cafeteria and Ren and I have no parents and no home left to go to, we will officially be named team lose-ifer" Nora quickly descended into anxiety and madness before ending with hysterical laughter that turned into sobbing as she slammed her head on the counter

"So Yeah were feeling pretty good" Ren said

"Don't fret. If anything we should be looking forward to a fight with actual guide lines instead of Well... Murderers. No offence" Phyrra said to Maple

"Non taken" Maple said

"Yeah don't sweat it we've all faced a lot worse before" Yang said

"Let's see Grimm invasions, Violent extremists, A destructive sociopath" Blake said

"And that was all while were still in training Ohhh! Imagine what it will be like when we graduate!" Ruby exclaimed and I giggled

"Maybe then I'll be able to pay for a meal" Weiss pouted and Maple put a hand on Weiss' shoulder to comfort her

The loud speakers turned on "Could Team JNPR please report to the battleground" Port said

"Yes like they were scheduled to several minutes ago" Obleck interrupted

"Well looks like this is it" Phyrra said

"Go get em!" Ruby said cheering the team on
