"ah, the vytal festival, the best time to be in vale" Weiss said. "Weiss, it's weird to see you smiling so much, it's kinda freaky" Yang said. "how can one not be happy. there's so much planning going on" Weiss said. "Not to mention the food" I said as my mouth watered. "Please don't get us kicked out of another restraunt" Yang pleaded. "Ruby got you guys kicked out before" Blake asked. "Yeah, the bill came out at almost 200 lien (assuming 1 lien is roughly 1 dollar), most of it was from her" Yang said. "I would have thought you were the one to eat the most" Weiss said. "What, they had really good steak" I retorted.

"what happened here" Yang asked, pointing at a destroyed shop. "looks like it was robbed" I replied with an unamused look. "so, you thinking, uh... white fang" one of the police asked his colleague. "I'm thinking we don't get paid enough (still love this line)" the other responded. "Ugh, The White Fang, what a group of scum" Weiss said. "IF they only went after those who wronged them, I'd find their actions... somewhat honorable" I said. "The thoughts of a single girl doesn't change the fact that all faunas know to do is lie, steal, and kill" Weiss retorted. "And humans can do so much worse. If people like your father didn't exist, then the faunus would have no reason to do what they feel is necessary to get their rights back" I retorted, "every 'villain' has their reasons, some less honorable than others, but they have a reason none the less".

(In the dorms)

(yeah, I'm skipping through bit of the actual episode, but who cares)

"why do you keep trying to defend the faunus and the white fang" Weiss demanded. "do you REALLY, want to know" I asked. "you're defending murderers, and I for one find that unacceptable" Weiss yelled. I started walking for the door. "it's because I'm no better. we've all got skeletons in our closet's, you just seem to hate everyone else for them" I said, and left the room. "and you Blake, why are you defending them. The White Fang are horrible, and have no right to exist" I heard weiss demand. "WELL MAYBE IF WE WEREN'T OPPRESSED, WE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT" Blake snapped. after a few seconds, Blake busted through the door, and ran down the hall, so I decided to follow.

Blake ran out to the courtyard, and took off her bow, revealing a pair of cat ears. "so, you're a cat faunus. cool" I said. "you followed me" Blake pointed out. "you want to know what I meant back in the dorm, don't you" I asked. Blake nodded hesitantly. "the awnsers not as cool as me being an ex-assassin or anything, but I've killed quite a bit before I came to beacon. I've never killed anyone who hadn't done anything, only criminals, and the lot. In fact, I killed two people who were robbing a dust store just a few days prior to the entrance exam, but that doesn't make me innocent, and retribution could be right around the corner, and I've accepted that. something tells me you haven't" I said.

"when I was in the fang, I killed several innocent people, all because I thought it was for the betterment of faunus-kind. but after I realized what we were really doing, I ran away, and came here" Blake said. "Blake, I know you expect me to tell you that this will all blow over one day, but it's just not how things work. I understand you want to put it all behind you, but eventually it's gonna catch up to you. and trust me, I've learned from someone who knows a thing or two about not being the best person. now I'm not telling you to throw your life away, you just need to understand that those kind of things don't simply go away with time" I said. "Thanks Ruby, I needed that" Blake said.

"now how about we go do something to take a break from the ice queen, how about we get something to eat, how does fish sound" I sound. "I'm going to ignore the fact that you thought that because I'm a cat faunus, that I like fish, cause I do like fish... a lot" Blake said. A small small smile crept up my face. "alright. follow me, I know a place that has some of the best meat around" I said.

(a few hours later)

"So what do you want to do now" I asked. "I heard a few rumours that a large shipment of dust is coming in soon, and I have my suspicions that that roman guy is going to take advantage of it" Blake said. "Let me guess, you want to stop him" I asked. "Yeah" Blake said. "So have you heard when the shipment is coming in" I asked. "from what I heard, it's coming in later in later on tomorrow" Blake said. "you ready to head back to the dorms" I asked. "No, not really" Blake said. "alright then" I said

(the next day)

Blake and I were standing on the roof of a building near the docks that the rumours were talking about. well, more of blake was sleeping, while I stood watch. in about an hour, I would wake Blake up, and we'd trade roles. we'd done this for most of the day, and it was starting to get dark. The Freighter came in, dropping what was clearly dust, seeing as the initials S.D.C. were visible everywhere.

(about 30 minutes later)

"hurry up, we're not the most inconspicuous people" Someone demanded. Looking down at the shipping crates, and seeing Roman torchwick commanding members of the white fang was not something I had expected. 'what? I thought the White Fang hated humanity. why are they taking orders from one? Especially one like Him' I thought.

I quickly nudged Blake awake, and motioned down at the docks. She, somewhat groggily, looked down, and I noticed her eyes widen. "so, what shall we do about this... blake" I asked, looking where blake was, only to see nothing.

"Brothers of the white fang, why are you aiding this scum" I heard Blake yell. "well, guess that works" I muttered. "oh, haven't you got the memo? the white fang and I are having a little... joint business operation" Roman said. "tell me, or I'll put an end to your little scheme" Blake said, pointing the blade straight at Roman's neck. "oh I wouldn't exactly call this little" Roman said, as two more bullheads appeared out of seemingly no where.

Roman, taking advantage of Blake's shock, pulled his cane up, and fired. "yeah, no, don't think so" I said, using the speed from another shadow launch to get blake out of the way of the explosion. "well, black, isn't it past your bed time" Roman taunted. "I will consign you" I muttered, as I pushed myself at Roman with another shadow, and went for his neck, the full intent on killing the bastard. But of course, as luck would have it, he pulled the trigger on his weapon, forcing me to dodge.

(Yangs POV)

(30 minutes prior)

"Blake! Ruby! you guys around here" I yelled, "Weiss, you're not helping". we'd been at this for almost 3 hours, and Weiss hadn't as much as say a word. "You know who might be able to help? The police" Weiss said. "That's a bad idea, and you know it" I said. "You heard what they said, they're criminals" Weiss said. "you can't say that for sure" I retorted, "Besides, you don't actually know what Ruby meant. You don't know WHY she said she was just as bad as the white fang, why she stood up for them". "and I take it you do. go on, tell me" Weiss said. I just sighed.

"Our mother, despite being a Huntress, Runs a bandit camp. The camp consists of people who aren't accepted by society, people who have been wrongly accused of crimes, and do the 'wrong' thing against those who do wrong against innocent people. If you had an actual childhood, you could compare them to 'Robin Hood', the story of a man who stole from the rich and gave to the poor" I began, "Ruby doesn't see the White Fang as deranged psychopaths, just people who have been wronged, and want to get back at the people who discriminated against them for so long. Ruby, in her own way, punishes criminals for going to far, and with a fate far worse than prison. With prison, you can have parole, or have a chance at serving your sentence, and being on your way, but Ruby doesn't give them this chance. She kills them, making sure they have no chance to continue what they do".

"alright, alright. I get it, but that does nothing to explain why she said that, so she's still guilty in my book" Weiss said. "Actually, it does" I said. Weiss just looked at me as if I were crazy. "Most people who knows what she has done look at what Ruby does as justified and rightous, but she doesn't see it that way. Ruby believes that killing, no matter what, can be deemed as a good thing. Claiming that retribution could be just around the corner. And she's 'fine' with that. But I know that, inside, Ruby hurts whenever something she sees as 'karma' happens to her. for example, you yelling at her and pushing her away. so please don't be so hard on her" I said. "But I didn't push her away, she ran away" Weiss explained, "the innocent never run, Yang". "As Ruby said, we've all got our dark secrets, according to your logic, we should all be running" I said.

"look, I'm not saying you have to trust them with your darkest secrets, just give them a chance" I asked. "fi-" Weiss was cut off by a rather large explosion. "Come on, we've gotta check what that was" I said, and ran in the direction of the explosion.

(Ruby's POV)

After Roman tried shooting me, I used a quick tendril made of shadows to pull myself out of the way. His shot hit a lone shipping crate, causing an explosion. luckily the blast was not large enough to ignite the other crates of dust, or else we'd all be dead.

I looked back at Blake, and saw she was surrounded by atleast 20-30 White Fang Grunts. A disaster I was NOT going to sit back and watch. I used yet another shadow to push me into their ranks, I used the blunt end of the blade to knock out two of them. I had no problem with killing them, but,considering Blake's past with them, I decided to keep it PG.

"KEEP AWAY FROM OUR TEAMATES" Someone yelled. Looking towards the origin of the shout, I saw Yang, with Ember Cecilia, punch her way through three of the Grunts.

Suddenly, the wind started picking up, and the Grunts were blasted back. "next time you dolts want to pull something like this, let us know" Weiss said. "Well it seems the gangs all here. we've got a Black Killer, a Yellow Bimbo, a Black Emo, and the White Ice Queen-" "Hey" Weiss voiced her opinion. "-Truly a full deck" Roman said.

gonna have to stop it here. This took is, suprisingly, 1914 words. but hey, If all goes well, I will have completed so much of RWBY in 4 chapters, 'chapter 3' really being a side chapter that didn't really fit anywhere, but I felt was necessary to show Ruby and Jaunes respect of eachother. I'm in no way saying RoseKnight (think that's the ship name) Is going to be one of the main ships of this story, you'll just have to wait. I plan on the first actual ships to show up during the school dance. only ones that I'm revealing now are Renora (which is a much better ship name than flower power, which is the 'canon' ship name, as it's the name of their combo attack) as well as Arkos. Renora, mostly cause 'BOOP' and canon RWBY, and arkos cause it's also 'canon' although it ended five minutes later. wow, this is a REALLY long authors note.
