I know people didn't really go around saying they used they/them pronouns in the 90s but shh this is wattpad nobody cares

The bus stopped. Charley held Cat's hand. Lee looked next to them to see a brunette girl sleeping. Roxie was listening to Madonna through her Walkman. They had extra batteries with them.

One by one, the thirty-one children filed out. There were ten counselors. "Hello, everyone!" A black woman stepped forward. "My name is Lizzy. Welcome to camp and I hope you enjoy your summer here. Now, you will all be divided among the counselors. Frances, you will be getting the following eleven and there you will do roll call-" She read off the list.

Frances was fairly young, twenty-two, twenty-three. "Sup, I'm Frances. So, tell me what name you go by and what pronouns you use. Now, Charlotte Black?"

"Um, I go by Charley and I use she/her pronouns."

"Noted. Roxanne Blackwood?"

The blonde bounced on her toes, enthusiastically. "Here! Roxie and she/they!"

"Noted. Matthew Howard?"

"Here. Uh, Matthew, um, he/him."

"Noted. Lee Jasper?"

"Here. Jasper, he/they."

"Noted. Cecilia Lowe?"

A black girl raised her hand. "Hey. Cecilia and she/her."

"Noted. Hugo Martinez?"

"Here. Hugo, he/they."

"Noted. Rosa Martinez?"

A tall girl timidly raised her hand, announcing her presence, but not saying anything further.

"Okay. Ariana Monroe?"

"I'm here. Ari, she/her."

"Noted. Catalina Perez?"

"Hi there. Cat, they/them."

"Noted. Oliver Vaughn?"

"Here. Oliver, he/they."

"Noted. Robin Willows?"

"Here. Robin, he/him."

"Noted. Well, that's that. If any of you guys ever need anything at any hour, do not hesitate to come to me or Lizzy." Frances smiled and walked off, turning on her heels as she did so.

With that, everyone dispersed to their cabins.
