[Time Steve's POV]

It's been a long while since the timeline was reset, and everything was going okay for a while... But recently, Sabre's disappeared.

The last time I saw him was three weeks ago, when he was going out to head to the Orange Kingdom, as he was asked to help out with a few things. I thought everything would be alright, as there had been a new path constructed connecting all of the Kingdoms and this village. The Colorless Guard had already checked around it for anything dangerous, so it was thought there weren't any threats.

When sunset approached that day, I was waiting at the house for Sabre, as I was getting worried. He had promised that he'd be back before the afternoon. As I was waiting, Light showed up, and he asked if Sabre was with me. I told him that I've been waiting for him to get back from the Orange Kingdom since noon.

That's when I learned that Sabre never got to the Kingdom.

The Orange Leader had gotten worried as well when he didn't show up, and he and a few of his people looked around the path. There was no sign of Sabre anywhere. Then, the Guards got involved. Still nothing. I had quickly joined Light in his search when I heard the news. We were out there until well past midnight, but we didn't find a thing.

Right now, I'm back at the house. I've been part of every search party, but Light told me I should take a break and try to calm down a little. I suppose he's right... I haven't really been all that focused on myself since Sabre went missing. It's strange, it's almost like he vanished from thin air...

I'm walking over to the staircase to get to my room, when suddenly a flowerpot is launched from the top of a bookshelf and smashes on the wall, the pieces falling to the floor. Not again...

Things like this have been happening for about a week and a half, as if things can't get any worse. It's not just me, either, every kingdom is dealing with whatever this entity is messing with things. The Blue Leader thinks something is haunting us, and it seems pretty plausible. Maybe not all of those wraith-looking things were caught...

I sigh and walk over to the destroyed flowerpot, placing the book I was carrying on the counter. At least it wasn't a pot that was in use, that would've been messy. I carefully pick up the broken pieces and discard them in the trash can in the kitchen. I'm about to go and pick up my book again, when lightning strikes outside.

"Oh, what now?" I mumble, heading to the front door to see who it is.

When I get outside, Light is standing there. He sees me, and I leave the house, closing the door behind me. I walk over to Light just as he begins talking.

"Hey Time, you doing alright?" He asks.

"Eh, could be better..." I say. "Any news on the searches?"

"No, but the Professor figured out a machine that'll trap the thing that's been messing with everyone." Light replies. "We need you there in case it gets out of hand, given that you can freeze things in place."

"Alright, let's go then." I sigh.

Light steps forward a little bit, and lightning surrounds us as everything shifts.

—————————————————————————————————————

Before I know it, we're in Professor Red's lab.

We're in front of a machine, built around a large glass dome. The Professor and the Leaders are gathered behind what looks to be a protective shield that divides the room. Light and I are right behind them, and they all turn once they hear us teleport in.

"Ah, good. They're here. Now I can activate it." The Professor says.

"And this one won't explode, right?" The Blue Leader says, a skeptical look on his face.

"Wait, what-" I say, but the Professor interrupts.

"It's fiiine, I've learned from the last machine like this." The Professor says. "There's nothing to worry about, it won't explode... probably."

"Everyone stay behind the shield. Just in case." M sighs. He's used to the Professor's antics.

We all stand behind the clear shield, and the Professor starts tapping buttons on the control panel near him. The machine whirrs to life.

"This machine should trap the entity that's been messing with everyone, and make it visible." Professor Red explains. "Then we can finally see what exactly it is, and make sure it doesn't do such things again. Time, you get ready to use your abilities just in case. I don't know if it'll be able to break out once I shut off the machine, so if it does you need to freeze it."

"Got it." I answer.

The Professor clicks a last few buttons, then flips a switch, and he ducks behind the control panel. Lightning starts striking around the machine, and inside the glass dome. I cover my eyes from the bright flashes of lightning. Eventually, everything calms down, and I open my eyes again.

Inside the dome is- Wait whaT THE-

The Leaders and Light start shouting all at once.

"WHAT IN THE NAME OF ORIGIN?!"

"WHAT."

"HOLY SMOKES!"

"UH- WHAT."

"HOW IN THE WORLD BELOW-"

"NO. WAY."

"IS- IS THAT-?!"

"IT WAS HIM?!"

"Well, this was unexpected." The Professor says, staring at the ghostly figure inside the dome.

Sabre looks like a spirit, transparent and only tinged a light blue. His expression looks to be one of relief when he realizes we can see him. He floats closer to the edge of the dome as we walk forward.

"Sabre, what on earth happened to you?!" I ask, shocked by my friend's ghastly state.

Sabre seems to be trying to talk, but nothing comes out. He's not making a sound. He gets frustrated as he keeps trying, but fails.

"Great... he can't speak." The Yellow Leader says.

"But how are we gonna know what happened to him, then?" The Indigo Leader wonders aloud.

"Hang on, I've got an idea." The Professor says, quickly walking over to the control panel and shutting down the machine. "I'll be right back."

Professor Red then quickly leaves the room, and Sabre passes through the glass dome as if it isn't there. He hovers down, closer to us.

"Have you really been what's throwing things around and stuff?" The Orange Leader says, and Sabre nods, looking a little ashamed.

"Were you just trying to get our attention?" The Blue Leader asks, and Sabre nods again.

We all stay silent for a moment.

"Okay, I get that, but did you really have to drop a water bucket on me?" The Green Leader asks our ghostly friend, and Sabre seems to laugh a little.

"Still up to your usual shenanigans, I see..." I sigh, smiling a little.

"Sabre, do you know what happened to you?" M asks. "Did... did you die?"

Sabre thinks for a moment, then shrugs. We won't get too far if he can only answer 'yes' or 'no'...

The Professor suddenly bursts back into the room, as if on cue, carrying what looks to be a small computer with him. He sets it down on the table behind the blast shield, and connects it to the computer screen mounted to the wall. The keyboard on the small computer lights up, showing it's functioning.

"Alright Sabre, over here." The Professor says. "You can clearly interact with things, so you can just type what you need to say here."

We all gather near the computer as Sabre hovers in front of the keyboard. He quickly starts typing, words appearing on the screen as he goes.

"I don't know what happened to me, I can't remember." Sabre types. "One minute I was walking down the path, going to the Orange Kingdom, and the next thing I know I wake up on the ground like this. For the first week or so, I was trying to figure things out and kept trying to talk to someone. I soon realized I can somehow go between worlds, and tried to go to the Middle World or World Beyond in case either the Blue or Indigo Steves could see or hear me. And they couldn't. So I tried the next best thing and started messing with stuff to get your attention. It kinda worked. Sorry about all that, by the way."

"It's alright, if you didn't, we wouldn't have known you were here." I say. "Did you see anything suspicious when you were on the path?"

Sabre thinks for a moment, then seems to remember something. He quickly starts typing again.

"Actually, I think I did." He types. "Just before I blacked out, I thought I heard footsteps behind me. I was about to turn around, when it felt like something hit me, and now I'm this."

"Something hit you...?" Light mumbles.

The Professor then sets up a small device, holding it in his hands.

"Sabre, I'm gonna take a quick scan to see if I can figure out what caused this." Professor Red says. "You stay still. Everyone else, back up a bit."

We all back up, and a red beam circles Sabre for a few seconds. When it stops, the Professor turns back to the computer and uses a wire to connect the device with the computer. The screen has a new interface, and the Professor scrolls through it a little bit.

"Oh dang." The Professor says after a minute or two.

"What? What is it?" The Yellow Leader asks.

"This was no death, what's happened to Sabre is the work of a person." Professor Red explains. "Someone's ripped his soul out of his body entirely, and that's what he's taking form from in front of us. I have no clue what could've happened to his body once he was separated from it, though. Since it wasn't anywhere on the path, I'm guessing either it disappeared since it didn't have its soul or the person that did this took it."

The Professor looks up from the computer, and sees how upset we are about that news. Sabre especially, I notice he looks like he's about to flip the table or something.

"What in the- Why would someone even do that?!" The Blue Leader exclaims.

"Your guess is as good as mine." The Professor replies. "Either way, we need to find the miscreant that did this and put a stop to him. Both so he doesn't do this to anyone else and so we can get Sabre back to normal."

"Indeed we do." I say. "Anyone have ideas on a plan?"

HaHA, cliffhanger >:3

I'm gonna leave what they do to solve this to the person that claims this AU (and I'm totally not just lazy-)

Btw I just want to say, throughout the whole AU, Sabre is just  a n g e r e y  about the whole situation. Especially since he can't exactly voice his opinions and such (ironic because he's the one that advocates people to use their voices lol). Like, when the Professor is talking to him and asks something forgetting he can't speak like this, Sabre is just visibly ticked off. And when he sees something coming up that the others aren't paying attention to, it's not uncommon for things to be thrown across the room. He is just a rage-filled spirit boi.

So ye. Enjoy :>
