—————————————————————————————————————
So in this AU, the Sky People are tiny lil adorable things (you know the little bean things I draw? Like those) that follow Sabre around, and he's been hiding them from everyone because he doesn't know how the Steves would react to thousands of smol lil things (we're like the size of a bottle in this AU lol, although size differs. The tiniest could be rock-sized, while the ones that are normally giants would probably be the same size as a medium-sized plushie). Although the Sky People don't really have hands, we have this small radius where things float around us as if we're holding them. We just lil beans.
The Sky People have followed him throughout all of RQ, having hidden in the forest around the Hub, the forest around the Kingdom, basically any nearby forest because we fit literally anywhere due to the small size thing. The Sky People also either make lil squeaking noises or noises similar to squeaking, or lil squeals. Think like a squeaky duck noise :3
Sabre actually understands all the squeaking, for reasons you'll soon find out.
However, during the Corrupted Arc (where Sabre was trapped inside his mind), the Sky People were all constantly moving around and hiding from literally everything that comes near. We all get very excited when Sabre comes back (aka Sabre gets swarmed by thousands of little excitedly squeaking bean creatures lol).
Speaking of, we are an extremely big part of supporting Sabre's mental health here. It's impossible not to smile when surrounded by lil beans, so we're very effective. When the Sky People are known to everyone, we actually also act as warnings when something's wrong with Sabre (Ex: got hurt while out in the woods, something's attacking him, etc.). We could also tattle on him to Time if he's being an insomniac or something >->
Come to after timeline reset, Sabre has still been hiding us from everyone after going back to the village, making sure we stay in a secluded area of the forest nearby the house. Time and others start to get suspicious of how often Sabre goes out alone into the forest, so he, Therapist Green, and Light (who only came with to make sure they stay out of trouble) follow him into the forest one day to see what he's up to.
It takes a long while of silent following, being careful not to draw Sabre's attention to them, but eventually they see Sabre go into a wall of vines. They wait a bit, then go over to the vine wall. They realize that it's just vines covering a tunnel entrance, so they push past the plants and head inside.
They walk through a stone tunnel, beginning to hear many different high-pitched squeaks as they continue. Once out of the cave, the three hide behind a giant tree, peeking out into the clearing in front of them.
It looks like a paradise, with clear blue, small rivers flowing everywhere, even a small waterfall formed in a cliffside next to large leaves. Multitudes of colorful flowers are everywhere, some of the blooms as big as a block. Large mushrooms grow out of the ground. Small crystals hang from strings attached to vines, leading to upper levels of the strange, whimsical clearing.
The most surprising thing they see, however, is an extremely large number of strange, small things surrounding Sabre, as he happily plays with them. The little creatures run up and nuzzle Sabre as he sits on the ground, giving them headpats, and occasionally picking one up and petting their tiny heads, the things squishing their faces into his hand as he does.
A few of the bigger ones come over and lean on Sabre sometimes, and he gives them hugs the same way someone would hug a plush, soon letting go in order to give the next one a turn so no arguments start.
A few minutes after his friends start watching him, unbeknownst to Sabre, he takes out a few cookies and starts dividing them into smaller pieces for the little creatures to share. Although there's definitely not enough for everyone, it seems they have a turn system, as some of the creatures give a cookie piece to one next to them instead of keeping it.
Sabre chuckles as he watches the creatures play with each other, quite a few of them still surrounding and climbing on him. One has just climbed onto the top of his head, nestled into his hair.
It takes a while, but eventually Time, Green, and Light decide; they need to say something.
"Sabre?" Light calls out.
The squeaking of the creatures comes to an abrupt halt, as they and Sabre all turn towards the group, just staring at first. Silence. It's as if someone presses a pause button on the scene.
"...I can explain." Sabre eventually says, carefully grasping the small creature in his hair and setting it back down on the ground.
Sabre then goes on to explain the whole story of how these creatures have been following him as long as he can remember, and that he built this space for them for them to hide in so nobody sees them. Expressing his concern for everyone's reactions, he tells them about how he hid the Sky People out of worry.
"...Well, are they friendly?" Time asks.
"As long as you don't give them a reason not to be, they're like little blobs of pure wholesome." Sabre replies.
"Say no fricking more." Green Steve says, walking forward.
As soon as Green kneels down to be on their level, a lot of the creatures swarm him just as they did Sabre. Time joins in soon after Sabre does again, and eventually even Light has a few of the creatures clinging onto him. He'd never admit it, but Light found it absolutely adorable.
With a lot of convincing, Sabre eventually shows the Sky People to the rest of the Realm. When the Leaders hear about it, at first they're a little upset that Sabre had been keeping such a big secret from everyone, but then they actually meet the smol Sky People and are immediately like 'Nevermind, now what are these adorable things?'
This story turns into lots of shenanigans with little bean Sky People, Sabre leading them all. Whoever claims could add a conflict, cause I don't wanna think of one myself lol.
Now, the reason why the Sky People are so trusting of Sabre and why Sabre can understand them, is because he was once one of these little blob bean things himself, waaayyyy before he created Origin.
Sabre was able to transform into a human with the help of some magic, after he helped a kind magic person (*ahem*maybesomeoldcharacterscanhavethisrolelikemaybeMotherNatureorsomethin*ahem*). It works almost just like Ponyo, for the people who have seen that masterpiece of a movie. With this new, permanent, much more mobile and useful form, Sabre was able to take the Sky People anywhere he and they wanted, to whatever worlds they came across. He made them things as well, like accessories (sweaters, hats, etc.) or little trinkets for the Sky People.
Aaaand that's all I wanna do for story right now, so enjoy fluff situations :3
—
(Sabre, sad during the first Darkness Arc after being ran out of the Hub and not knowing what to do.)
(Suddenly, emotional support beans. Sabre can't help but smile at the very welcome familiar squeaking.)
—
(Sabre looking around for a few of the Sky People. He's stopping at the Colorless Guard headquarters.)
Sabre: Hey, I'm missing seventeen of the little guys and this is the last place I haven't checked, has anyone seen any?
(Light pokes his head out of a doorway in the headquarters, the missing Sky People clinging onto him.)
Light: Sabre, come get your gremlins!
—
(Sabre trying to introduce the Sky People to everyone in the village he lives in. One is sitting by itself, and an Orange Steve walks over to it and tries to pet the little guy.)
Sabre: Oh- careful! That one bites!
Orange Steve: Wait what?
(The little Sky Person suddenly jumps up and bites the Orange Steve's fingers, yet he doesn't flinch in pain or anything.)
Orange: ...I don't see what the big deal is, it doesn't hurt?
Sabre: (Walking over) They might not really have teeth, but it's a pain to make them let go. Lemme help you with that.
—
(Professor Red trying to sneak past M in the lab, as he's holding a Sky Person in a jar. M notices.)
M: Professor, what on earth are you doing?!
Prof. Red: I want to know what these things are! It's not like I'm gonna hurt it... it's too cute.
M: (Walking away) I just don't wanna be here when Sabre finds out you took it.
Prof. Red: What?
(Suddenly a door being broken down is heard, followed by Sabre screaming.)
Sabre: PROFESSOR RED, I KNOW YOU TOOK ONE. YOU HAVE FIVE. FRICKING. MINUTES.
Prof. Red: I'm so dead-
(Sabre is very protective of the Sky People lol, he's the Sky Parent)
—
(Sabre quickly counting the Sky People he has after an attack happens.)
Sabre: I counted 4,729 out of the 4,742 I brought with me. I'm missing 13. Now if I don't find those missing little guys, someone's going to have a broken spine within the hour.
Time: Sabre, calm down. Please.
(Void came back from heck and took 'em. Needless to say, Void is dead again.)
—
(Time making some food while having some downtime in the house. He turns around for one second to take cookies out of the oven, and when he turns back around there's a bunch of lil Sky People staring up at him from the floor.)
Time: (almost dropping the cookie pan) HOLY SMOKES-
Sabre: (in the other room) Did they sneak up on you? They do that sometimes.
Time: ...Do they really like cookies that much?
